Postlude

Life returned to the other world following that day.

It took some time for sure, digging up all that old withered dirt with the red shovel was a total pain in the butt.

But in the end, it was worth it.

To see this magical land blooming with life again, was a sight I didn’t know I’d miss so much.

Through our conquering of the Demon Lord’s Soul we destroyed the spire of darkness and the withering it brought along with it. This by no means quelled the endless decay of it all, but it definitely sped up the process of repairs.

I met back up with Gil, Lala, and Dr. Creeks and we began building a home of our own in this world.

As days went by, I’d spend them cleaning up the darkness.

But the daystar’s fears rang around my head endlessly.

The end of the world. At the consuming hands of the wither.

A monster so unstoppable it had the daystars jumping from planet to planet to avoid it.

Even with this shovel, that alone cannot keep it away forever…

But for now, we can live together in peace… For a little longer at the very least.

We rebuilt Eryth’s hometown, and cleansed the lands of the withering destruction.

Who knows the amount of damage all this landscaping has done for Earth on the other side.

That’s a future problem.

Lala and Gil have been exploring the lands around it, finding other villages untouched by withered monsters as of yet. Towns full of daystar life.

Dr. Creeks has been honing her craft by performing experiments on the withered lands, in hopes to find a cure. Although nothing successful has become of it yet, she continues her work without fail.

As for me, I gave Eryth’s hometown a name in its reconstruction. It's called Arxville, an unbreakable name for an unbreakable home!

We live together in the place Almza’s study once stood.

“Are you back from your day of digging already?!”

Eryth’s voice calls out to me as I enter the remodeled home.

Turning the corner, Eryth comes into view…

And well she’s…

No longer, just a doll.
