Chapter 27:

The Darkness In Your Heart

Re:Admin

The screen glared back at Admin, the words Project Chimera almost swimming before his eyes. It was like his brain was trying to catch up, old memories fighting their way to the surface. Playing the game, messing with the code... it all felt so familiar, yet distant. There was something else, too – a strange feeling of being part of something bigger, more than just some guy with a controller.

He skimmed through the document, past the walls of numbers and confusing diagrams. Then, he spotted a section called The Spark. The words were different, bolder. The whole vibe had changed.

The wall between worlds? Way thinner than we thought. The possibilities? Endless. This game... it's not just a game. It's a doorway. A way for... something else... to get through.

Admin's breath caught in his throat. He forced himself to keep reading.

Re:Admin is where it all comes together. The center of everything. Something from somewhere else is getting pulled into our world through the game. It's responding to the code, the energy... even what we're trying to do. This 'something' – let's call it an entity – it's offering power. More power than you can imagine. All it wants is a way in.

His mind was racing. Aeriys hadn't just stumbled on some way to jump between worlds. She'd attracted something, something old and strong. The Project Chimera file said this entity was pure energy, a mind that lived outside our universe. It had grabbed onto 'Re:Admin,' drawn in by what made the game special and how obsessed Aeriys was.

The entity is giving me knowledge. Secrets about how reality works. I'm becoming... more. The code is changing based on what I think, what I want. The game is getting... real. I'm becoming... like a god.

A cold feeling crept up Admin's spine. The truth was scarier than he ever thought possible. Vanessa Aeriys hadn't just tricked him. She'd made a deal with something unknown, trading his life, his world, for power.

He kept reading, his heart pounding.

The chosen one... the Admin character... he's the key. His mind is the bridge. If a human goes all-in into the game, they connect with the entity. This will hold open the rift and make the gateway permanent. It's gonna be a mess. The person will probably forget everything about their old life. But the prize... the power... it will be worth it.

Admin's blood turned to ice. He was the sacrifice. Just a pawn in Aeriys's game for power. His disappearance, his life in Mishanter's World, even who he was... all stolen, messed with, and used to make Aeriys stronger, like a god. This revelation struck him as forceful as lightning. The world that he recognize has collapse, his belief shattered in pieces. How could all of this happen? He tried to figure out the answer. But all he faces was a wall he couldn't get pass.

He looked up at his friends, his face pale. It's worse than I feared, he said, his voice barely audible. Aeriys didn't just make Mishanter's World. She didn't just bring me here. She made a deal with something. Ancient and powerful. Something that gave her the power to become a goddess.

Reyus looked worried and asked What kind of deal?

Admin paused, his eyes lost in thought. She used me. She sacrificed me. She opened a gateway for this entity, and I was the bridge. I was the key.

He continued, his voice louder, like he had to get this out. “And if this thing is still linked to Aeriys if it is still fueling her.” Then he pointed the computer, as they faced one of the major problems, which is the core and foundations: We still need to understand what that freaking thing is, since the files didn't provide any real names. Is it a powerful beast? Is it a curse that spread by contact? Or, maybe is it something from here?

The room went quiet, save for the old computer's hum. News about Vanessa Aeriys and her deal with some weird entity made everyone uneasy, a bad feeling that went right to their bones.

Tundra spoke, her voice steady despite the worry, We got to figure out what this… thing is. If it's how Aeriys got her powers, we need to know what it can do and where it's weak.

Admin nodded, back on task. He looked at the computer, typing fast. He started digging through the Re:Admin folder, skipping the game stuff and looking for anything about the entity or Project Chimera.

He checked all over the place -- code notes, design plans, even strange audio bits -- trying to find any clue about what this thing really was. Hours went by, the monitor light making long shadows in the room. You could feel the stress in the air as everyone waited for a breakthrough.

Finally, Admin stopped, staring at a file that seemed unimportant. It was a small text thing, hidden way down in a folder, called RCX_Manifest.log.

He opened it, his heart racing. The file had entries with times on them, like it was keeping track of how the entity was messing with the game and with Aeriys herself.

The entries were broken up and hard to understand, but they showed something scary.

RCX is getting stronger. The code is starting to think for itself. Things are getting mixed up.

RCX wants more. More power. More to connect to. The world is reacting.

RCX is whispering secrets. Secrets about making things, about breaking them. I'm learning… so much.

And then, the last entry, written like someone was panicking, RCX is here. All of it. It's not a god. It's something… else. Something you can't even understand. I messed up big time.

RCX, Admin whispered, the name giving him the chills. That's its name. Or… what they call it.

He looked at the others, his face serious. The files don't tell us much, but it looks like RCX is super powerful, and it's from somewhere we can't even imagine. Aeriys thought she could control it, but she was wrong. She let loose something awful, something that even she was scared of.

What does it want? Mirai asked, her voice shaky.

Admin shook his head. I have no clue. But whatever it is, it can't be good. Aeriys' last words… sounded like she knew she had opened a door to something she couldn't close. And now that door is open, and RCX is here.

He stopped, the seriousness of it all hitting him hard. We need to find Aeriys, he said, words filled with a new urgency. She might know how to understand and maybe even stop RCX. something we can use,

He turned back to the computer, ready to type. But, he continued. There's still so much we don't know. We've got to dig through these files, even if it takes all night to find out what we can before this monster gets out of hand! He started typing, opening a new search in the Re:Admin folder. I need to find out everything I can about RCX, about Aeriys' way of doing thing, about anything that can give us an edge over what we are dealing with. Every second counts.
