Chapter 26:
Pliniad: Roman Genius Will Unite This Godforsaken Realm
The life of the great Psycho Tome, as compared to the most illustrious Necoccana,
As composed by Barbara Plinia Sylvia, esteemed archivist of Queen Psycho Tome, and dutiful slave. The life of the Great Queen, softest of fur, most beautiful, most full, best of girls, has been compared favorably to the most wonderful companion of the hero, Necoccan, most notably by the Queen herself. Indeed, many parallels can be drawn between the two individuals when examined from certain perspectives, whether from childhood, rise to power, aspects of background, or certain points made across my back by the dagger.
Let's begin with lineage. The Psycho Queen hails from a long line descended from the original goddess, Necoccan, and is considered to possess one of the purest lineages in her descent to Necoccan and the great hero. Though this lineage is kept a great secret, attempts by me to inquire more about it accidentally transgressed the secrecy of this noble bloodline. Despite this wonderful and noble lineage, the Psycho Queen, due to circumstances of conspiracy by other members of the cataracts, was destined to keep her and her family poor for 10 generations, forcing them to live in the slums of Northport, a city several hundred miles away from here.
So impoverished was this noble family that, like Neccocan herself, they were turned to a life of destitution. Whereas Necoccan was enslaved by fiendish guild members and sold to the Demon Lord's army, the Great Psycho Queen was in a similar circumstance, forced to become one of the slavers, scrounging what she could to make a living in these dire, unfortunate circumstances.
Like the great Necoccan, she was encountered or rescued by a mentor figure. In Necoccan's case, several centuries ago, she was rescued by the great hero who then abolished slavery and destroyed the slaver camp. The Great Psycho Queen was similarly rescued from her impoverished circumstances as a low-level, though still incredibly noble, slaver by a noble known as Arya Pads-her-chestt. I cannot speak to her other aliases, as this is the name that has been transcribed to me; whether Arya Pads-her-chestt was the original name of this mentor figure cannot be confirmed by me, so we will leave the record as it stands.
In any case, Arya Pads-Her-Chest was the dominant pirate queen in the realm, having formed an alliance with the merfolk of the Silver Cock tribe and coming to dominate sea trade in the Great Northern Ocean. However, both were unfortunately betrayed a decade ago by the evil Mayor Queen, known as Wafty Sea Witch. Once again, I am unsure if this is the original translation. As Wafty Sea Witch took over the northern waters, the then Psycho Tome Arya Pads -Her-Chest and the now Great Queen were forced to flee to the Western Peninsula where the Red Road ends.
It is here where another parallel to the great Necoccana and the great hero comes into play: the liberation of cities. The great hero, Necoccana, and his other companions, who are of lesser races and not worth mentioning, were first able to liberate a city from Guild and slaver control as one of their first acts through the use of magic, specifically a form of lightning bolt. In a similar way, the two sea-bound captains and their crew were able to liberate what we now call Tacassii Pleasure Palace, or Necoccana's Paradise, from the evil pirates who originally occupied it, through a similar magic they call treachery.
