Chapter 6:
OUA: Match Made Online
//SE: Cool morning breeze
(The boy is sitting in an outdoor restaurant)
(He checked his wristwatch, it’s 10 minutes before 12 noon)
//SE: He taps his fingers on the wooden table
(A waitress approached him)
“Hello, Sir. Here’s the menu. You can call us if you’re ready to order.” //smiles
“Oh, thanks.” //smiles
(The heroine approaches him)
“H-Hi…” //she’s nervous
(The boy stood up)
“Hello, wow. You are spectacular.” //he offered a seat “Have a seat.”
(The girl seated across from the boy)
“How are you?”
“I’m great. No, greater because now you’re here. I can finally see you. You’re prettier in person. I’m so glad you agreed to this.” //giggles
//amuse
“To be honest… I’m shy now that I’m facing you. This feels entirely different from voice messages and video calls. But I wonder why it doesn’t feel awkward.”
“That’s true for me as well. It feels like everything has been put in the right place. Maybe this is what they call a match made in heaven.”
//bashful
“Or a match made online?”
“Brilliant! Hahaha” //gentle laugh
“Hahaha” //she chuckles softly
“Go ahead and choose your food.”
“Okay”
(They ordered their food)
(After 15 minutes, they ate their food)
//SE: Utensils being used while eating
“How’s work? Any news about your supervisor?” //he’s curious and worried
“I did what you advised me to do. The boss reprimanded him, and he took immediate action on it. Thank you. How about your father?”
“I didn’t stop persuading him. Now, he’s not that mad about my career choice.”
“I bet he couldn’t resist you. He just can’t take his eyes off you because you’re his only son. He’s just being caring and overprotective with you. You just have to be more understanding and be appreciative of his efforts, too.” //she smiles
“Speaking of appreciation, shall we go to the art gallery?”
//enthusiastic
“Yes. Let’s go there. I didn’t know you’re into art galleries.”
(Wipes her mouth with a table napkin. She finished eating.
“I’m open to any adventure as long as you enjoy doing it.”
“We’re done eating anyway.”
“Alright, off we go.”
(Inside the local art gallery)
“Why are you staring at me like that?”
//he stutters
“S-Sorry, I didn’t mean to.” //clears his throat “You’re too pretty not to be recognized.”
//bashful
“… I don’t know what to say...”
“Your pink floral dress and black sandals suit you well.”
“Thanks,” //shy “I like your outfit too.”
(He smiles)
(She took a picture of herself)
“I can take a picture of you” //he offers
(She handed her phone to him)
“Stand there beside the painting” //he instructs “One, two, three, smile”
(She smiles and poses)
//SE: Phone camera shutter, three times
“Another one here, please” //she asks for a favor
“Sure. One, two, three…” //silence
“Are you done?”
“…Umm… yeah… Here’s your phone.”
(He handed her phone)
“Why were you staring at me when you took pictures of me?” //she’s curious
“Nothing, haha” //shy chuckle
“What is it?” //suspicious “Do I look that bad? Is there a dirt on my face? Tell me.” //worried
“You are beautiful like I was staring at a piece of art.” //serious, warm tone
“Come on, stop embarrassing me.” //embarrass, blushes
“I-I heard there was a newly opened cake shop here. We’ve seen all the art here. Do you want to visit the cake shop?”
“Yes, please.”
//SE: Glass door opening
(The female cashier greeted them)
“Hello, Ma’am and Sir! Welcome to our shop.”
(They scanned the cake shop to buy food)
“We have a new feature for this week, Ma’am and Sir. Since we opened this shop a week ago, we have launched a course where you can bake your own pastries. You just have to pay for the course, and the pastry you made is free.”
“Do you want to try it?”
(The heroine nodded)
“I do! Do you?”
“Count me in.”
(A female staff member instructs them)
“Ma’am and Sir, you can choose which pastry to bake. Then proceed to the pantry to claim the ingredients needed. Simply follow the instructions stated in this gadget. You can watch the video and read the description. If you need assistance, just call one of the staff.”
//The heroine and the boy answered
“Thank you.”
“Oh, I want to bake a small cake.”
(He nods)
“Maybe a vanilla cake will do.”
//SE: Gathering cake ingredients
“Can you hand me the measuring cups, please?” //request “So, the flour goes here, sugar, oil…”
(The boy gave her the measuring cups)
“Here”
//SE: Putting the cake ingredients in a mixing bowl
“Put that here.”
“Like this?”
“Yes. And then let’s now mix this.”
//SE: Cake mixer starts mixing the cake ingredients
(The boy sneezes)
(The girl turned off the cake mixer)
//SE: Cake mixer stops mixing the cake ingredients
“Oops, hahaha” //snorts, laughs
“Hahaha” //laughs “You inhaled the flour. It went into your nose.”
(The boy dipped his index finger into the mixing bowl’s icing and gently tapped the girl’s nose.)
//shocked
“What?”//giggles
(The girl dipped his index finger into the mixing bowl’s icing and gently tapped the boy’s cheek.)
//They both laugh
“Okay, enough. Let’s finish this.” //the girl stopped laughing
//SE: The cake mix goes to the oven and turns off after 25 minutes
(The boy takes the cake out of the oven)
“Whoa,” //he’s amazed
“Yehey. Time to decorate it.” //excited
“How about a pink floral icing?” //he suggests
“Like my dress?”
“Exactly. And I bet you’re as sweet as this cake.” //smiles
“Okay. You spread the icing here, and I’ll put the sugar flowers.”
“Like this?”
“Go on. You’re doing great.” //cheerful
“And I’ll put one here, two over there… And we’re done!”
//They both smile
//The boy claps his hands
“We did it!” //he exclaims
“Yay!” //delight
“Oh, wait.”
“Why?” //confuse
(The boy grabbed a tissue and wiped the girl’s nose that had icing left)
“You still have an icing.” //smirks
“…Thank you” //bashful
(The female staff member approached them)
“We’ll box your cake, Ma’am and Sir.”
//SE: The staff boxed their cake ready for take-out
(She packed and handed them their small vanilla cake)
“Congratulations, Ma’am and Sir! Here’s your cake.”
//The two of them smiled
//They both thanked the staff
“Thank you!”
//SE: They left the cake shop, the door opens and closes
