Chapter 2:

Bar Meetups

It's Not Right

“Where the hell is he? It’s been like 3 hours?” Pete whines. “It’s only been 5 minutes you idiot.” Chris smacks the back of Pete’s head. The three males see Alexander rushing towards them. “Hey, I’m back,” said Alexander while his hands are resting on his knees as he tries to catch his breath. “What took you so long, man?” Chris asks worriedly. Just as Alexander was about to speak Jake interrupts him. “Maybe he was busy making out with some girl.” Jake teases him and laughs with the others. Alexander rolls his eyes and walks away from his friends. “Hey, Zander, wait up!” Chris calls out and chases after him. “C’mon man we were just kidding.” Jake ruffles Alexander’s hair. “How about this, let’s all go out for drinks. It’s on me.” They all nod in agreement.

Wesley lays on his bed thinking about the encounter he had earlier with the cute captain. That was until his phone interrupted him. “Hello” He answered his phone. “Hey, Wesley are you free?” The voice that came from the other line was Wesley’s best friend, Mark. “Why? What do you want?” “Damn okay, no need to give me that tone. Anyways guess what?” Wesley sighs just wanting the conversation to end. “What?” Marks laughs into the phone. “Ya boy's got a girlfriend!” He states excitedly. “And you’re going to celebrate with me.” “Look man I’m tired and I don’t-” “Did I say you have a choice? No, so hurry up and meet me at the bar. I’ll see you then bye.” Marks hangs up the phone before Wesley could argue back. Wesley gets up out of bed with a sigh and gets ready to meet Mark at the bar.

Alexander and his friends walk into a bar and they order their drinks. Pete, Chris, and Jake were talking about whatever and checking out every girl that walks past them. “Psst Zander look at the girl’s ass. So tender.” Chris makes squeezing motions with his hands as he tries to get Alexander’s attention. Alexander does not notice Chris talking to him because he is in his own world, thinking about how close he was to feeling Wesley's soft lips against his. Chris sees this and bumps his arm against Alexander’s, trying to snap him out of it. “Zander? Zander!” Alexander jumps and covers his ear in pain. “Oi, why did you have to blow out my eardrum?” Chris ignores what he says and asks him. “Are you okay man? You’ve been out of it all day?” Alexander nods his head. “Yeah, I’m fine just thinking about the test that is coming up.” Pete stands up in shock. “Huh!? A test?! Nooo! The professor’s going to smack me if I don’t pass.” He sits back down and sulks. Jake rubs Pete’s back comforting him. “The professor is not allowed to smack you. That’s why I’ll do it for him.” Jake smiles and laughs. Pete glares at him and scoffs.

Wesley checks his watch regularly and mutters to himself. “Mark told me to meet him here but now he’s late.” He looks around and sees Mark waving his hand as he walks closer to Wesley. “I’m surprised you actually came.” They walk into the bar together. “Well, I didn’t really have a choice.” “True True.” Mark laughs and Wesley smiles with him. “Go find us a seat, I’ll grab the drinks,” Mark tells Wesley and goes off to the counter. Wesley finds them an empty table and he sits down waiting for Mark to return. He looks around the bar but stops as his eyes are fixated on a specific table. He immediately smiles when he sees Alexander sitting at a table with his friends not too far away from him.

Pete and Jake seemed to be wasted and would not shut up. Chris is sober and is busy on his phone either messaging someone or scrolling through Instagram. Alexander is not much of a drinker but he would still take tiny sips of his beer. He looks around and examines the bar. It looked kinda old but was still going strong. He looked around the tables to see if he had recognized anyone but he couldn’t help the feeling that someone was staring right into his soul. Scanning the room quickly to see who was staring daggers into him, he locks eyes with the one he hoped not to see again. Wesley gives him a wink and licks his lips. Alexander couldn’t take his eyes off of Wesley’s lips as he watched his tongue slide across them. Mark breaks their contact when he comes back to Wesley and his table with the drinks.

Alexander shakes his head and stands up to leave the table. “Ah, where are you off to?” Chris stops him. “I’m going to use the bathroom.” Chris nods. “Okay. Come back quick though, I don’t want to have to deal with these two alone.” Alexander smiles and walks towards the bathroom. Wesley watches as Alexander gets up and sways his hip from side to side unintentionally. He excuses himself and follows Alexander. In the bathroom, Alexander looks at himself in the mirror and is immediately shocked at how red his face is. He just assumed that it was because of the alcohol. He washes his face with cool water hoping it will help take the redness away. Once he looks back up at the mirror his body stiffens as he sees Wesley standing behind him, wearing a cocky smile.
