Chapter 2:

"Like - No Way! You're Going Too!?"

Just a Gaijin “Valley Girl” in Tokyo Slaying the Undead

"OMG - we're literally like, going to Tokyo! This is literally like, our last day at San Russo High!"

Alexis exclaimed before she caught herself and blushed hard - while she smiled at Kaylee and nodded as they both made their way onto the grounds of San Russo High School. Kaylee smiled at her older sister, as she rolled her eyes and giggled, since Kaylee had a soft spot for how awesomely-opposite she was from Alexis, and yet Kaylee couldn't help but love her sister tremendously! All around them, the small, red and white nylon flags that proudly displayed the school's colors, waved on the entryways of the various buildings on the campus - consisting of the gymnasium on the left side, the assembly hall and theater on the right, and the main academic building in the middle. The bright and loud school colors on the small entryway flags complimented the beautifully antiquated and ornate, brown, white, and tan, California Spanish Colonial architecture of the school. With that,  beautiful aesthetic of the school that their family had founded had never been lost on Alexis and Kaylee.

"Yeah - wild, right? I'll never forget how many times I went off campus for an Orange Julius after finishing tests that I knew I'd aced early - only to be gently scolded by mom and dad for posterity, sitting in the bleachers as I waited for you to finish all of your cheers and flips at the practice, or making out with Natsuki under those same bleachers."

Kalyee said as she giggled and nudged Alexis, as Alexis smiled and blushed even more.

"I'm like - so going to miss this place, and OMG - I need to go see Natsuki in between classes and at our last practice! Gotta get to class, so I love you, sis! Be rad, and don't like, do anything to give mom and dad a headache!"

Alexis replied as she smiled and hugged Kaylee tightly, before running ahead to the ornate, main entrance of the central school building as she waved to Kaylee, while Kaylee winked and smiled, before she waved back. As Alexis made her way into the main hallway with the red and white patterned lockers, she saw Natsuki waiting at her locker, since they wrestled next to each other.

"Blade-chan! I have great news!"

Natsuki blurted out as she smiled, bowing to Alexis before jumping up into Alexis' arms and relaxing herself into a bridal carry, before Alexis kissed her and smiled! That day, she had her beautiful black hair styled in shoulder-length twin-tails, with kawaii-style accessories in the forms of a bunny face and a red and white bow, clipped on at their respective bases, while Natsuki was wearing her red and white cheerleading uniform, which she often did, due to how comfortable it was.

"Like, wants up, Natsuki honey What's like, so totally rad that you've got me bridal carryingng you first thing!?"

Alexis asked as she smiled and nodded to Natsuki, silently noting that she didn't seem to be at all melancholy about it being Alexis' last day at San Russo High School.

"I'm going back to Japan too! My parents talked with yours - and we are moving back to Japan today too! We're even going to move into the same house - since the school is granting your parents such a large house as the new, highly esteemed, gaijin staff!"

Natsuki practically screamed with glee, before covering her mouth and blushing neatly as red as the shade used in that of their school's choice of the color! Alexis nearly dropped Natsuki, but se instantly caught herself  and leaned against her locker, with her backpack acting as a cushion!

"LIKE OMG - THAT IS SO RAD! NO WAY! HOW!? OMG - I LIKE, LOVE YOU SO MUCH!"

Alexis squealed, before she then kissed Natsuki once more and nodded, as she was intent to hear all of the "juicy" details that she was sure were supposed to be a surprise!

"Well, Blade-chan, I'm pretty sure that it was supposed to be a surprise - but I overheard my parents talking to yours on the phone when I was making sure that my cheer uniform was ready for today, and so I listened in! My parents are apparently going to be part of the school's administration - so yeah! As you say in America!"

Natsuki giggled and buried her face in her hands and blushed, before she then peeked up at Alexis! Alexis just smiled even more since she was speechless with glee, and then walked with Natsuki in her arms to their first class of the day: English Language Arts.

As they walked down the hallway, with other students all around them, they passed by the main mural that was copied on both sides of the hallway, which were also bordered by the the walls of lockers on both sides of the hallway.

The twin mural display consisted of the word SLAYERS in large, red-bordered, white cursive letters, with a highly distinctively-designed sword going horizontally through the openings of the cursive letters. The sword had a short, but still two-handed grip, without a hand guard, and ornate, decorative designs on the flat sides of the wide, more curved on one side than the other, blade. The sharp side of the blade was lightly curved, with a short rounded-indented section, and then a long, curved section that formed the rest of the sharp side of the blade and one half of the tip. The other side of the blade was curved inward in inverse compliment, with a small pointed curve following downward towards the grip, as well as soft curves and a smaller version of curved section vibe the grip on the sharp side of the blade.

Little did Alexis, Kaylee, or Natsuki know - but that mural was far more than a creative design and a fun mascot name for San Russo High School. And yet, by the time that they and their respective parents were in Tokyo, that would become more than clear, in ways that they could never have expected!

The school day seemed to pass as quickly as it had arrived, which was mostly due to the fact that Kaylee was all too excited to relocate to Tokyo, and because Alexis and Natsuki had been too distracted by being in love with each other, and equally excited - to pay attention to the time! So, by the time the night came around - Alexis, Kaylee, Natsuki, and their respective parents were all on a Gulfstream passenger jet that was chartered by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, with a Boeing model cargo jet that carried their belongings flying behind them over the vast Pacific Ocean. While Kaylee was fast asleep, sprawled across one of the tan leather lounge couches on the plane with her knee-high converse off, and Alexis and Natsuki were asleep in each others' arms on the tan leather couch across from the one Kaylee was on, their respective parents sat in the four seats that faced each other in two pairs towards the front of the plane.

"Blade-san, we must ensure that the ground that this new school is on, is secured, meaning that the coffin and remains of Queen Kiku must be removed and destroyed in a purifying manner. The talisman, it cannot be allowed to be removed from her remains."

Hideaki, Natsuki's father said sternly to James, Alexis' and Kaylee's father, as he sipped his tea and nodded. Hideaki had short, greying black hair, with an almost permanently serious face. He wore a tight fitting black suit, with a black shirt and a black tie, while Yumeko, Natsuki's mother, who had her hair held up in a jade kanzashi, which complimented her bihaku skin, traditional ohaguro teeth, and her tight, but elegant, strapless black dress - nodded in agreement with her husband.

"I couldn't agree more, Mr. Kobayashi. We didn't choose that ground to build the school on randomly. As you know, the Blade family has had ties to Japan as quietly-distinguished gaijin, who have slain the undead in the dead of night, for centuries. So fear not, should the need arise - this - will take care of any supernatural threat that Queen Kiku and her cursed talisman pose, should she lead the undead."

James replied as he stood up slowly, wearing his white smoking jacket and black pants, with a white black buttoned shirt and a black bowtie, all of which accented his platinum blonde hair and blue eyes well. He then carefully removed a long, rectangular, tortoise shell and whale ivory inlaid box, that was shrouded white and red, diamond patterned silk covering cloth, from the padded overhead cargo storage, before laying her box carefully across his and his wife Jessica's, lap. Jessica, Alexis and Kaylee's mother, had her best strapless white dress and rounded-edge square sunglasses on, with deep red lipstick, white elbow length dress gloves, and her blonde hair in a stylish ponytail. Jessica nodded to James as they each lifted their end of the lid carefully, revealing a red velvet interior - with the exact same sword that was featured prominently in the San Russo High School logo, laying inside, shining brilliantly!

"A carefully calculated - and beautifully symbolic plan, I see. You shall stand ready to slay an ancient evil and then purify the grounds and consecrate them with a modern good in the form of this new school that's to be opened. Very good, Blade-san."

Yumeko replied with a high degree of elegance as James and Jessica carefully and dutifully closed and secured the box holding the sword once more, before sitting back down across from Hideaki and Yumeko. Although when she stated her thoughts on the matter, Yumeko was looking at Jessica.

"Thank you for your kind and honest words, Mrs. Kobayashi. We intend, as our ancestors who've carried the Blade name and reputation have before us, to repay the favor that the Japanese people have always shown us through hospitality and safe passage alike - with the currency being security against the supernatural. As you both well know - your branch of the Kobayashi namesake, and ours of the Blade namesake - collectively forged and blessed this sword in Kyoto centuries ago, when it was the capitol city, and when Tokyo was known as Edo. Then as now, the blessed power of this sword, equally infused with the powers and the legacies of the East and the West - shall not fail to slay the undead, when wielded by a member of the Blade namesake."

Jessica responded sincerely with a high class, effeminate sweetness, as both couples then slowly stood up and bowed to each other, before once again sitting down in their seats. James and Jessica then looked back at Alexis and Kaylee, as they both smiled softly and nodded to each other, before turning back to Hideaki and Yumeko.

"Should the need arise - Alexis will be the first to take on the family legacy, as our eldest daughter. And don't worry, the protective love that she shares for her sister, and the romantic love that she reserves for your daughter, along with her heart as a leader - will fuel her righteous wrath, if and when she must wield the ancestral sword."

James added, as both couples nodded to each other politely. Their respective daughters slept peacefully, blissfully unaware of the destiny and the darkness - that would soon be thrust upon them!
