Chapter 4: Memory Shards & a Phantom

During the cleanup & repair of Eido a girl with light Blue hair, lavender eyes, dressed like a shrine maiden helps out but all of a sudden she bumps into someone on accident none other than Yuri.

Yuri: “Oh I’m sorry are you ok?”

The girl shakes her head yes & bows as an apology.

Yuri: “No need to worry about it. Oh my name is Yuri Eclipse. I jumped into the World of Eidolon Nexus yesterday.”

Tsukuyomi: “Oh uh my name is Tsukuyomi I’ve started yesterday as well. It’s great to meet a legend like you. You defeated a Hydra in 1 hit that was impressive!”

Yuri: “Oh uh I was just trying to save everyone & luck was on my side I guess.”

Tsukuyomi: “Well I better get going I hope to see you again soon. Bye.”

Lunith: *telepathy* “Well that’s a surprise playing a shy girl act huh?”

Tsukuyomi: “Not now Lune! Even so, I bet he’ll be preoccupied with other stuff to help me out.”

Lira: *walking up to Yuri & said* “Master Yuri who was that?”

Yuri: “A Future friend I hope. Alright let’s get back to Mira & think of what to do next.”

The next day in Eidolon Nexus everyone was seen enjoying the game normally while some get serious to get ready for the corruption battles.

Yuri: *thinks to himself*( “It’s been 2 days since the Hydra battle Lira & I are at Level 25 & Mira & Tikka are 5 levels behind us. Since they’re 1 of the AI governing things, they don’t want to show off that they’re op in certain things. Yet we were able to kill the Hydra in 1 hit. That Reality-Severing Strike was a serious attack. I need to get stronger for Lira, everyone in this world & most of all for my sister. If this corruption can be affecting players who knows how it’ll affect NPCs? Best to keep on guard. Also even though it’s ok to kill other players in this game, if under corruption you’ll be on a time out at best to keep that in mind.”)

Mira: *takes Yuri’s hand* “So Yuri tell me what’s on the agenda today? Looking around for various materials, shopping for items & equipment, battling for weapons & relics?!”

Lira: “Whichever we choose just remember, I got your back,Master Yuri!”

Tikka: “Uh Mistress Mira I believe you forgot to tell Yuri about the Queen’s other reward.”

Yuri: *Stops walking & looks at Mira sternly* “What reward? I already got there crest & Sword but I don’t know if I can…”

Mira: “Calm down, it’s a cash reward for saving Emma & Edolis. The Queen said she’d pay everyone for their assistance in defeating the Hydra & helping to rebuild the town. So… here’s our payment 1 million Keel.

Yuri: *shocked & surprised almost faints* “1 million!? Wow that’s a lot of cash. Imagine what items we can get with this. Ok let’s go shopping for items for everyone then we’ll head for the Adventure’s Guild.”

Lira: “I believe we should register at the guild immediately then go shopping.”

Mira & Tikka: “I agree best we do that now.”

Yuri: “Ok then let’s go to the guild.” (“I wonder if there are player made guilds here as well as the average Adventurer’s Guild?”)

The 4 arrive at the Adventurer’s guild & see lots of people there.

Yuri: “Wow lots of people here. Wait there are human animal hybrids here!?”

Mira: “Yep there are demi-humans in this world. Lots of them are interesting just be careful on who’s who. You never know.”

The Adventure’s Guild shimmering with banners, adventurers, plus holographic ads thanks to the world being half medieval era with magic & half modern with various tech.

Yuri: (“Some of the people here have guns here I wonder if they’re like the guns back home or magic guns?”)

They walk over the reception desk & talk to 1 of the receptionists

Roy: “Hi there, Welcome to the Adventure’s Guild! My name is Roy. I’m 1 of the Receptionists here at the Edolis branch of the guild. How can I assist you.”

Yuri: “Hi, we would like to sign up as adventurers please plus we have our Eidolon friends to register as well.”

Roy: “Ok just fill out the form & we’ll get everything else ready.”

As Yuri & Mira fill out the forms they return them to Roy & when he sees Yuri’s he nearly froze.

Roy: *Surprised & happy* “Wait! You are Yuri Eclipse!? The man who defeated the Hydra & saved Edolis?! Amazing! It’s an honor to meet you sir. I can’t wait to let the GuildMaster meet you as well, but they’re away on business.”

Yuri: “It’s nothing I was just happy to help besides I didn’t fight it alone.”

Lira: “Indeed! We were close to defeat & death, but thanks to my Master’s Trust & love I evolved sooner than expected & we fell the beast with 1 blow!”

Mira: “I was able to summon a huge shield to protect the town when things were getting dire. Name’s Mira & my Eidolon is Tikka an adorable fox.”

Roy: “Ok ok thanks! With your powers I’d say you 2 can be skipped a rank or 2, but I need the guild master’s permission to do so until then you 2 are at Rank F & your Eidolons are registered too.”

Yuri:(“Wow I’m surprised that the news about me killing the Hydra spread fast. Guess Lira & I are popular after all, but I won’t let it get to me. I have to focus on what’s really important.”)

Roy: “Ok then if you need anything else please let me know. Also as of right now your Official Adventurer Guild Cards are ready! Here you can add them to your current Intel Cards!”

Yuri: (“Oh the intel cards! They hold our information on them plus stats, skills etc. Plus we can merge our Intel cards with other cards like the ones with the guilds.”)

After getting registered with the adventurers guild the 4 look over at the job board.

Yuri: “Looks like regular jobs from any adventurer’s guild exterminating monsters, gathering herbs or items, & finally escort missions. So does anyone wanna take a vote?”

Mira: *grabs a request* “Look at this. Rouge Eidolons & Goblins attacking a trade route to Eido. Shall we?”

Lira: “Master Yuri, I say we should do this escort Mission.”

Tikka: “Gathering! Gathering!”

Yuri: “Ok since when was I the leader of this little outfit?”(he said to himself in his head)

Lira:*telepathy* “Because you are the strongest & by far most knowledgeable or should I say very lucky?”

Yuri: *telepathy to Lira* “Please let me think freely with no say UNLESS I call your name ok?”

Yuri: “How about we do all 3. We can fight the rouges & goblins 1st gather herbs & finally the escort mission when we get back?”

Lira: “Very Well! What about you 2?”

Mira: “I’m ok with it. Let’s not overexert ourselves ok?”

Tikka: “Yeah!”

Yuri: “We would like to take these requests Roy.”

Roy: *looks over the requests* “Ok good luck to you 4. Also be careful because We’re now getting reports about the turned Eidolons & various areas being occupied by them.”

Lira: *sounding heroic & confident* “Do not worry yourself Sir Roy we will show no mercy to the enemy!

The 4 then make their way to the trade route while gathering various herbs & items for there 2nd request.

Yuri: “Hey Mira have can you tell regular monsters & Eidolons apart? Aside from appearance & what else.

Mira: “I told you before that only players in this world can receive Eidolons. If an NPC gets 1 consider them lucky, but The Eidolon Council & The Goddess will watch over those who miss abuse their partners.”

Yuri: “So the gods & council will punish those who treat Eidolons cruelly?”

Mira: “Yes & no. The Council does most of the work while the gods watch over & send oracles to important figures.”

Yuri: “Right some Gods don’t want to intervene in human affairs or just don’t want to in general.”

Lira: “You think some gods don’t do there jobs?”

Yuri: “Maybe, maybe not. I’m not trying to discriminate deities or anything. It’s just, I’ve only seen, read, and or heard some things like that.”

Tikka: “Wow sounds like THOSE gods don’t deserve there powers & responsibilities.”

After an hour of following the road out of the Capital & reaching a crossroads Yuri senses something coming, The Goblins & Rouge Eidolons that ambush the various traders & merchants.

Yuri: *draws his sword & readies his gauntlet* “HERE THEY COME!”

Mira: “Ok then. Tikka!

Tikka: “Ready Mira!”

Mira does a pose getting ready to unleash a special attack with Tikka

Yuri & Lira: * they each block & counterattack with their blades* “We’ll hold them off.”

Mira & Tikka: “Call forth a storm to stun & decimate our enemies! Lightning strike!”

Lightning bolts strike 10 goblins around the 4 but then the rouge Eidolons appears taking various forms from Human, animal or something else.

Yuri & Lira took them 5 with there blades no problem but a tough 1 knocks Lira down

Yuri: “Lira! Ok let’s try out my new move!” *Yuri activates his Gauntlet & aims it at the Eidolon* “(Let’s see what that new move I got from the Hydra can do.) Code Purge!”

A blast from his gauntlet hits the Eidolon purging its evil code & turning it into a memory shard.

Yuri: “Oh cool a magic stone.”

As Yuri picks up the stone he sees various visions including 1 showing of the Goddess of Remembrance Astraea

Yuri: *drops the stone feeling flabbergasted* “Ok so that’s not a regular magic stone!

Lira: It may be a magic stone but it’s not exactly a magic stone. It’s a memory shard

Yuri: “So it’s a magic stone holding an Eidolon’s memory?”

Mira: “Yes & No. Let me explain. Think of them like… pieces of someone’s soul. They let you do three big things: bring back your Eidolons when they fall, help them grow stronger plus there partners, and fix places where reality’s… breaking apart. Hope that won’t happen.”

Yuri: “Break apart?!”

Tikka: “You had to make him worry. Don’t worry Yuri I bet everyone will fight for this world because it’s amazing for everyone!”

Mira: “If I may continue, the shards help various Eidolons keep their various forms. Not all of them are good, but they all can work like magic stones. For example, Red ones are memories of anger plus a good source of Fire, Blue ones they can be used for Water power, healing & to the Eidolons compassionate memories, green are used for wind power, hope driven memories, Yellow ones are for defense holds feelings for protection & divine echoes as a bonus there’s lightning power from them too, Purple ones are like Dark magic full of sorrowful memories used for shadow & illusion skills but sometimes dark magic has an upside, Gold ones have legendary abilities & memories of Very Rare & Powerful Eidolons. They can even tied to Astraea. The white ones are like Light Magic they can heal & Revive plus full of Holy Power , As for something like the Hydra’s crown & Core fragment u got they’re tainted with Corruption that black-violet energy. You’re special because with that gauntlet you can help remove the corruption from them & utilize the memory shards powers very well. All you need is knowledge & practice.”

Yuri: “Understood. Question, do members of the Eidolon Council have these Legendary Eidolons too?”

Mira: “Give the man a prize because you are correct! Yes, The Eidolon Council each has a legendary Eidolon to help establish peace & order to this world.”

Yuri: *does the poo brained horse face*(acting dumb but was aware) “Of Course they do.”

12 Rouge Eidolons jump out to attack the 4 but Yuri does another Code Purge to eliminate them all showing there memory shards 4 each of blue, green & black-violet.

Yuri: (“Since Lira & I have this power from the Tri-Lunar Eclipse & this mark from the Hydra, we can handle touching the corrupted shards Plus I do have unique Databreaker Gauntlet thanks to you Mira.”)

Mira: “You invited me to join you on your adventure here so giving you a unique item is my way of saying thank you.”

Tikka: “Yep it’s 1 of a kind so be careful not to lose it or break it.”

Yuri: (worried & curious) “Wait do we have to cut off the goblins ears to confirm the quest?”

Lira: (looking at the notice) “It’s doesn’t say it on the request but just in case let’s see is there are any magic stones on them 1st.”

Tikka: *shutters while cutting off the ears & looking for the magic stones* “Looks like both. I had to do it before it would lead to an argument & I do regret cutting the ears.”

Yuri: “Sorry Tikka I bet it was terrible & gruesome.”

Tikka: “Treat me with something nice & we’ll be square”

Just as everyone prepares to leave an unknown entity appears before the 4. A person who entire body is made of Black-Violet energy comes out & attacks.

Yuri: Whoa! Who or what is that?

Tikka: “So much for going back to the guild. I got it!”

Mira: *assesses the being & gets worried* “Tikka wait. Stop!”

Tikka dashes at the figure but her figure grabbed her before she made her mark & begins to corrupt her.

Tikka: (“What!?How is this possible?! I’m getting corrupted.”)

Yuri: “Let her go!”

He charges in with Triselenis & cuts off the beings hand freeing Tikka

Tikka: Thanks! Hey Yuri isn’t that…

Yuri: *answering her* Triselenis the Tri-Lunar Sword Queen Selene gave me? Yep figured NOW is the right time to try it.”

Yuri readies his sword & does his 1st attack with Triselenis

Yuri: “Lunar Slash!”

A slashing attack showed & showered in moonlight hits the entity knocking them back. As the entity looks defeated Lira notices what’s going on.

Lira: “Master Yuri, I believe that is a living being who has turned corrupt. I see there status he’s guard from Edolis named Booker.”

Yuri: “Is there any way we can save him?”

Lira: “Yes use Code Purge with my Pure power. It should bring him back!”

Yuri: “Ok Lira! I trust you. Code Purge!

Yuri arms his Gauntlet & uses Code Purge with Lira Pure Power while unbeknownst to him another power from Triselenis is mixed in the Code Purge healing & resorting Booker out of his trance.”

Mira & Lira check Booker’s vitals while Yuri & Tikka be on guard

Tikka: “Thanks for the save. It means a lot.”

Yuri: “You’re my friend. I got you! Trust me.”

Tikka looks at Yuri & is surprised on his kindness.

Lira: “It appears this man became a phantom of some sort that explains his behavior.”

Yuri: “A Phantom, but there wasn’t anything ghostly about him.”

Lira: No! I mean he became a corrupted entity being forced to spread that energy.

Yuri: “Right! Best to let the guild know about this.”

Mira: “Ok this man is still living & breathing. Let’s take him back to the guild & we’ll learn more about what’s going on.”

They hurried back to the guild to inform Roy about there completed quests as well as the guard turned corrupt purple soldier

Roy: “Interesting. As soon as Booker wakes up we’ll ask him what happened to him. As for your reward for defeating 10 goblins & 18 Rouge Eidolons I’d say your total reward is…(100 Keel for taking out goblins & 1,000 for quelling rouge Eidolons) Ah! 19,000 Keel & a bonus 1,000 keel for bringing Booker back in 1 piece. Thank you again for your assistance!”

As the group leave a familiar looking girl arrives at the guild & speaks with Roy. A girl with light blue hair, Lavender eyes & dressed up like a Shrine Maiden now wielding a staff & has a fairy by her side.

Yuri: *he sees her but she ignores him* (“Wait it’s that girl I met yesterday? Her name is Tsukuyomi right?”)

Tsukuyomi: Excuse me, my name is Tsukuyomi & I am looking for a join the guild. I also want to put done a request & looking for a team to join.

Roy: “Of Course, just register your Eidolon & show me your intel card & everything will be taken care of.”

As Roy registers Tsukuyomi, Yuri watches & thinks to himself.

Yuri: (“It feels like I know her from somewhere?)

Lira: *using telepathy* (How do you know that girl Master Yuri?”)

Yuri: (“I don’t know but this feeling won’t go away until I know more.”)

Roy: “Ok everything’s done & you’re registered with the guild before I recommend some adventurer parties for you to try to join, what’s the request you want us to put on the board?

Tsukuyomi: *begins to tear up but holds back & says* “A Rescue Mission! My brother has gone into some weird area & hasn’t come back… I’m worried!”

Hearing this & doesn’t want another losing there sibling Yuri walks over & puts his hand on her shoulder.

Yuri: “Hi. Remember me?”

Tsukuyomi: “Oh yeah you’re the guy from yesterday. Uh Yuri right?”

Yuri: “Yes & I’ll help you find & save your brother & if you want you can join up with us?”

Tsukuyomi looks at Yuri, Lira, Mira & Tikka & thinks to herself.

Tsukuyomi: (“Lunith you were right. I’m sorry for doubting you. Please help me & these people save my brother.”)

Tsukuyomi’s Eidolon Lunith appears & hugs her.

Tsukuyomi: “Thank you! I’m sorry! Oh uh this is my Eidolon Lunith he’s a lunar fairy.”

Everyone is surprised to see her partner.
