Chapter 5 A Corrupt Zone

At the adventurers guild Tsukuyomi joins Yuri, Lira, Mira, & Tikka. As a surprise to the 4 her Eidolon reveals itself 

Tsukuyomi: “Thank you for accepting my request & for letting me join you. Oh this is my Eidolon Lunith.”

Lunith: *flies over to Yuri* “Thanks for assisting her on saving her brother! She was kind of giving me the silent treatment until now.”

Yuri: *surprised* “Really?! Why?”

Lira: Does she hate her Eidolon?

Tsukuyomi: “NO! I was going through a lot after losing my brother!”

Mira: *takes Tsukuyomi’s hand* “Don’t worry we’ll help you save your brother. Can you tell us what happened?”

Tsukuyomi shakes her head yes & everyone sits down to hear her recap the events.

Tsukuyomi: “Ok here’s the full story. Like you 2 My brother & I got Eidolon Nexus on the day it was released. Since we heard stuff about the Sun & Moon in the game from the forums & community in advance from beta testers, rumors & what else we decided we decided to take roles. I’m named Tsukuyomi after the moon god while my brother went with Amaterasu the sun goddess. While I use support others with my Eidolon Lunith & magic my brother is more suitable for the front lines on the battlefield alongside his Eidolon named Solar. We wanted to become legends in here as, The Soldier of the Sun & The Maiden of the Moon. After hearing about The Hydra Slayer, Savior of Edolis I wanted to try to find whoever they are but my brother wanted to become more famous so we were on a quest to execute monsters. During it we wandered into a zone filled with a purple like fog & ran some people like creatures. We fought as best as we could but he told me to head for the nearest adventurers guild for help & that lead me to you 4. So, please help me save Amaterasu!?”

Yuri: *he thinks to himself before he answers Tsukuyomi* (“Amaterasu & Tsukuyomi, The Sun Goddess & Moon God of Japan. I guess they must like them or the names in general. Even so, helping these siblings will be no trouble especially since I have a sibling to save.”)

Yuri: “Ok everyone if anyone opposes taking this quest as well as letting Tsukuyomi become a temporary member of the group please raise your hand! Tikka you raise your paw.”

Lira: “You are letting me & Tikka have a say Master Yuri?”

Yuri: “Of course! You’re my partner & Tikka is Mira’s. You both have a say in important stuff like this.”

Lira almost tears up but holds back & hugs Yuri tight

Lira: *she proudly says* “I’d say we accept the mission!” * & now telepathically speaks to Yuri* (Thank you Yuri for accepting & caring about me. If I was someone else’s Eidolon, I wouldn’t know how they would treat me. People looked at me like something was wrong with how I am but now I’m known & loved in Eido. I’ll always be by your side, my Master & Friend!”)

Yuri: *hugs Lira & telepathically speaks to her* (“Thank you Lira. I’m happy to have you by my side as well.”)

Tsukuyomi: “Wow u really love & trust your Eidolon don’t you? I really should try to be closer to Lunith.”

Lunith: *telepathy* “Don’t worry Tsumi once we save your brother you can make it up to me later. Deal?

Tsukuyomi: “Deal!”

Mira: “I suppose we can assist but can we do it tomorrow it’s getting late.”

Tikka: “Plus that Booker guy might have some information on this area since Yuri saved him.”

Tsukuyomi: *surprised & happy* “So you really can save the Phantoms from the Fragmented Corrupt Zones!?”

Yuri: *shy & humble* “Yeah but it’s nothing really if anyone has that power I bet they’d do the same thing. Anyway, Mira is right best we wait til tomorrow morning then we’ll go!”

Tsukuyomi: *sigh* “Oh alright. Since, you 4 just got back from a quest. I’ll see you tomorrow then. Get plenty of rest and food. Thank you again!”

Mira: “You can join us for dinner if you want?”

Tsukuyomi takes the invite & joins the 4 for dinner.

Later that night as they rest up Lira & Yuri dream about something. They’re both in an empty void showing nothing but black-purple fog. Yuri calls out.

Yuri: “Lira?!”

Lira: “Right behind you!” 

She said having his back while he has her back. They’re on guard & soon realize that a huge group of Eidolons are heading towards them.

Yuri & Lira look at each other & shake there heads understanding 1 another 

Yuri & Lira: “Reality-Severing Strike!”

They unleash Reality-Severing Strike to take out the horde but it had no effect, but they’ll still fight the enemy together. Just as the horde gets closer someone speaks to them in an evil voice.

???: “Become 1 of us.”

Yuri: “What!?”

???: “Become 1 of us. Join Corvayne!”

Lira: “Corvayne?”

???: “Join Corvayne! Become an Umbra & ditch your oppressor. Otherwise, this world along with you will be nothing but our playground of destruction!”

Lira: “Oppressor?” 

Lira looks at Yuri questioning the voice & proudly stands by his side holding his hand.

Lira: “I’ll never leave my Master… no I won’t leave Yuri behind! We’re a team & we’re friends!

???: “Then you will die as a team then & you will rebirth as Umbra!”

The horde of Eidolons stampede there was towards the 2 & they use Reality-Severing Strike again & this time it worked. 

Yuri & Lira: “Not gonna happen!”

In Mira’s room

Tikka: “I’m picking up more shady activity through the world’s data stream or shall I say Ley Lines.

Mira: “Ley Lines when we’re in public ok.”

Tikka: “Ok & whoever caused that Hydra to attack Eido’s capital is behind this as well!”

Mira: “Got it once we get everything we know from Booker tomorrow we’ll be ready to save Tsukuyomi’s brother & learn more about this disturbance in this world.”

Mira: *slumps into the bed exhausted* Great I’ve tagged along with another player for the fun of things & now out world is gonna become some glitch’s new paradise!

Tikka: *confused* Are you blaming Yuri for this now?!

Mira: “What? No! It’s just… *sigh* I’m grateful that he asked me to join him it’s like I’m on a working vacation. Having fun while on the clock at the same time.”

Tikka: “Ok, but the way u said it sounded like you blamed him & Lira.”

Mira: “Well I’m sorry for saying it like that ok! I like being around Yuri, but if we’re gonna find out more about these corrupted Eidolons we should investigate the Nexus. Also not only they’re getting players, now NPCs are becoming these Phantom things that’ll spread it around.”

Tikka: *licks Mira’s Cheek* “Don’t worry Mira we’ll check out the Nexus after we help Tsukuyomi save Amaterasu. Best we be careful though, who knows what’s causing all this could be squirming in the system.”

Mira: “I know luckily I got a plan for this sort of contingency.”

Later with Tsukuyomi & Lunith

Tsukuyomi: *looking up at the moon & says a prayer in her head* “Lunar blessing. Look after my friends & any family I have in this world.”

Lunith: “By family u mean me & your brother right Tsumi?

Tsukuyomi: “Of Course! I really thought that this world would be a perfect vacation from the real world but the day after occurred everything went down the crapper.”

Lunith: *hugs Tsukuyomi & tries to console her* “Don’t worry things will work out. Best to focus on the positive things.”

Tsukuyomi: *hugs Lunith* “You always focus on the positives. That’s what makes me like & trust you.”

Lunith: “Also good idea using Lunar Blessing on everyone since well your brother gets a power boost from the Sun & you get a power boost from 1 of the 3 moons.”

Tsukuyomi: “Indeed! I have the blessings of the full White Selara Moon & the Half Cresent Blue Theryn new moon. So I am… I mean WE are pretty powerful. Now we shall return to bed.”

Lunith: *yawn* “I’m with you there sister.”

The next day the group talk to Booker about the corruption zone

Yuri: “You ok now Booker? Roy said you could be able to inform us on the corrupt zone?”

Booker: “Yes. I’ll tell you what I know as thanks for saving me. This stuff that turns you. That black-purple ooze it just appeared out of nowhere after we got a report about a big Purple Crystal falling from the sky.”

Mira: *curious* “A Purple Crystal?” (“Interesting, so it’s adapting on how to enter this world. Even so I’ll find its source & stop it, but not alone”.) *Mira looks at Yuri & the others & smiles.

Booker: “If we don’t stop those demonized men & creatures, not only will they invade the capital but they’ll also attack the nearby village too.”

Tsukuyomi: *surprised* “A village?! If only I’ve seen more of the map.”

Booker: “Yes Lunaris Village it’s a great town near the capital. Most people love the meadows & Glowing Lantern trees there. Some of there residents even found work here in the Capital.

Yuri: (“Oh yeah! I remember seeing it on the map but, the Royal Family offered for me to stay & I really wanted to see the town. Since I couldn’t refuse them guess I can check out Lunaris tomorrow.”)

Yuri: “Thanks for the info Booker. We’ll take it from here! Plus *looks at Tsukuyomi* someone’s brother is in that area & we’re gonna save him!”

*Tsukuyomi looks at Yuri & smiles with hope & determination*

Someone knocks on the door

Terrence: “Hey Yuri it’s Terrence Silvain. I’m here to get Booker back to the barracks.

Terrence enters & is delighted to see Booker ok

Yuri: “If you don’t mind me asking, how do u 2 know each other?

Booker: “We’ve been friends ever since the day we both joined to be public protectors of this kingdom. I’m from Lunaris Village & Terrence is the son of a noble from another town. His parents were ok with him being a knight for the time being.”

Terrence: “Yeah I told my parents this is what I wanted to do & I’ve made my way to captain through enough training & work no use of my nobility. Plus Booker is 1 of our best combatants.”

Mira: “Wait don’t we need any of those relics, sigils & special weapons for this zone?”

Yuri: *unsheathes Triselenis* “I’m sure that this weap the Queen gave me is powerful enough for me but it wouldn’t hurt to have some as a contingency plan.”

Tsukuyomi: *pulls out a bag* “Actually I have some Purity Sigils & some relics in this bag..”

Tikka: “How did you get those?!”

Tsukuyomi: “Amaterasu & I were able to get a few from our travels here. We were able to buy some too. The person who we brought them from was able to show the authenticity of the equipment just because we thought it was some kind of a shady deal. The Purity Sigils will help free the Corrupt Eidolons as well as any people who’ve turned. Plus I bet if we use it on the Purple Crystal then we’ll cure them all.”

Lira: “Sounds like it could be possible. Here’s hoping the gear u have will work.”

Lunith: “Of Course they’ll work! I’d even check the validity of those items & they worked! Tsumi isn’t lying.”

Yuri: “Tsumi? That’s a good way to shorter your name or is it a nickname?”

Tsukuyomi: Yeah feel free to call me Tsumi. Anyway the Sigils & relics!

Tsukuyomi lays out 3 Relics A crystalline sphere of white light with a faint rotating star inside, A small metallic chip engraved with fractal runes, constantly shifting color, A silver mirror framed with blooming crystal petals, glowing faintly in the dark, & 3 sigils Interlocking triangles enclosed in a circle — geometric and elegant, A hexagonal shield rune pulsing in sync with the user’s heartbeat, & A shattered ring reforged with glowing data stitches for the group to use.

Tsukuyomi: Here are 3 Relics my brother and I found! There is a Celestine Core. It’s a core made up of Pure Code or shall I say Light Magic it’s a relic that can help purify the corrupt Eidolons as well as any tainted people, This 1 is called a Zero-Type Ark-Fragment it can give you double speed & immunity to corruption & the last relic here is the Mirror of Dawnfall it can reflect corruption attacks & convert them into healing magic. & Finally these 3 Sigils Harmonic Veil it can generate a barrier blocking corruption & reduce damage taken, Aegis Code it can reduce the amount of corruption taken, & the last 1 is Nullbreak it can cancel status ailments & has a counter effect.

Tsukuyomi: “Consider it as a down payment for helping to save my brother. Choose 1 of each & keep them! I’ll keep the Ageis Code & Mirror of Dawnfall.”

Mira: “I’ll take the Ark-Fragment Relic & Nullbreak Sigil. Thanks you.”

Yuri: “I’ll just be ok with this sword. I promise we’ll say your brother.”

Lunith: “You really are something else are you Yuri?”

Lira: “Yep my Master loves helping those in need! We’ll tell you more about our exploits after this job.”

After the meeting & equipping there new gear Terrence return to the castle to inform the King & Queen as well as letting Booker rest up.

As Yuri & the group leave, an individual wearing red samurai attire notices them. After seeing Yuri’s face he is surprised

???: “Could it really be you my old friend?” the mysterious Samurai said as the group ride off on a carriage. The samurai decides to follow & assist 

Sometime later after a lunch break when the group got close Yuri felt some maleficent presence.

Yuri: *speaks to Lira telepathically* (“That feeling it’s like with the Hydra except it’s more… weak I think.”)

Lira: (“I feel it too Yuri! The Hydra’s presence was overwhelming but we were able to defeat it together. All thanks to our trust in 1 another.”)

Yuri: (“Of Course I trust you! Again we’re partners a team. If you watch my back & I watch yours we’ll be practically unstoppable.”)

Tsukuyomi: “You feel it too Yuri? Impressive. Nevertheless this is the place. The Corrupt zone is like a camp of enemies you know like goblins, ogres demons etc. except they’re mostly at demon levels of danger. Best to be careful everyone.”

Tikka: “Don’t worry those demon like Eidolons will meet their maker as well as be brought back to life afterwards.”

The 3 & there Eidolons enter the area encroachingly filled with a fog that was the same color as the Hydra’s breath

Mira: “This fog is already corrupting us. Tsumi any chance those Relics & Sigils can keep us safe?”

Tsukuyomi: “How many times do I have to say it? Yes we verified them 3 times when we got them!”

Lunith: “If you’re calling us liars then see yourselves away!”

Lira: *shouts angrily* “ENOUGH ALREADY! Jeez we’re trying to get rid of this cesspit of evil & we’re still arguing about the equipment! Just STOP this is pissing me off! Goddess Astraea please help me.”

Yuri: “We should be getting closer now. By the way Tsumi anything you can tell us about your brother? What he looks like in this world plus his skillset?

Tsukuyomi: “Oh uh let’s see well since my getup resembles the moon his getup resembles the sun. His armor has colors of the sun & he also wears an Orange Cloak. He wields a spear in battle called Heliosurge he’s powerful when the sun is up while I’m powerful at night. Together I believe we can be unbeatable.”

Lira: “Impressive story anyway we’ve made it.”

As they look at the big Purple Crystal in the ground being the source of it all Mira sees it with big clarity.

Mira: “Oh no! This Crystal! it’s…”

Just then a spear wielding man with a Chimera Eidolon approaches the group. The Chimera roars & a group of Umbraform Eidolons appear as well as  people who have turned.

Tsukuyomi: “Amaterasu? Brother! Fight it! Don’t let them control you!”

Yuri: (“Damn A Chimera this creature is well known as a boss in various dungeons & labyrinths. It’ll be tough to fight but, What can we do if we fight the corrupted people? They might die! As for the Eidolons they can just return to life thanks to remembrance. Best we can do is hold our ground & try not to wound the people badly.”)

Yuri: *unsheathes Triselenis* “Amaterasu, people of Lunaris Village, & various Eidolons. I may not be a Hero of destiny but I will say this. I will do my best to save you all!”

Lira: “Short, sweet, & to the point. Well done Yuri. My Eidolon brothers and sisters! Liberation is within your grasp!”

As the battle begins Tsukuyomi’s Lunar blessings activate & both sides clash.

The group hold their own against the Eidolons but tried not to hurt the villagers. 

Mira & Tikka: *trying to purify the Crystal* “Clearing this will require some time. Hold them back for as long as you can.

Yuri & Lira show off more amazing chemistry by defeating the Umbraform Eidolons while also trying to incapacitate the tainted villagers 

Lira: “Yuri The Chimera is controlling them all. I believe that if we can purify or defeat the Chimera everything will calm down.”

Yuri: “Right best we purify the Chimera I get the feeling it’s Amaterasu’s Eidolon mutated by the corruption.

As Yuri readies his sword it glows white & begins to speak to him.

Triselenis: “Those who receive my blessing & show good intentions shall gain this power! Under the authority of the Full White Selara Moon I grant Yuri Eclipse Radiant Form! When glowing white your attacks will heal & purity those with wicked content but those who are purely evil won’t be faltered easily.”

Yuri: *surprised* (“Did the Sword talk to me? Nevermind that I need to focus on the mission! Although… if I use a healing move to cure the villagers who would get them to safety afterwards?)

Lira: (“Do not worry Master I’ll help you with that.”)

Lira then reveals her wings 1 Pure white & the other 1 pitch black. All the Umbraform Eidolons look at her in awe & the Chimera speaks to her.

Chimera: “Impressive! You quite resemble Astraea the goddess of this world.

Lira: “I appreciate the compliment but I’m no goddess just an equal being assisting there partner.”

Lira charges at the Chimera giving Yuri time to heal the tainted people. By channeling the sword’s white healing magic Yuri gets ready to unleash the power

Yuri: (“I may be on this journey to save my sister but I don’t want to witness this world to go down. Not without a fight!”)

As the battle intensifies the Red Samurai watches getting ready to jump in while another person in all Black sees what’s happening as well.

The Samurai: “Well it’s time to help my old friend. You ready?”

He pets his wolf Eidolon, pulls out a greatsword & the 2 charge in. While the guy in black still looks over the commotion.

???: “Hmmm… Shall we Glitch? Best we help out & not bore ourselves right?”

The person in black pulls out duel daggers & his Eidolon enters the daggers enhancing them as he runs into the field as well.
