Chapter 14:

Chapter 14: Puppet Maker

Hillary's I Spy Junior Adventure

Hillary was looking forward to make arts and crafts and she couldn't wait to make artworks with crayons, coloring pencils, markers, No. 2 pencils, erasers, scissors, glue and paints. So Mrs. Hubertson came to her and said, "And now, Hillary. Here's the set of six puppets you'll make." Mrs. Hubertson gave Hillary a puppet maker and said, "With this puppet maker, you can make six puppets. One is a needle felt, one is a sock, one is a wooden spoon, one square aluminum foil, one is a paper plate and one is an acorn-headed moss thingy. So once you make six puppets, you add stuff to make them look cute. OK?" "Thanks, Mrs. Hubertson," "Then good luck," said Mrs. Hubertson. "Have fun." So Hillary began to make six puppets. First Hillary added yellow yarn for hair, three black buttons, two white construction paper gloves, googly eyes, a little red heart for lips and two blue construction paper shoes on the needle felt puppet. Second, Hillary added three pink triangles for cat ears and cat nose, yellow googly eyes and black pipe cleaners for cat whiskers and cat mouth on the sock puppet. Third, Hillary added googly eyes, black pipe cleaners for arms and legs, a small red pom-pom for a nose, two pink construction paper half circles for ears and a red construction paper half circle for a mouth on the wooden spoon puppet. Fourth, Hillary added googly eyes, a small white pom-pom for a nose, a white pipe cleaner for a mouth, a red construction paper trapezoid for a hat and two orange construction paper ears on the square aluminum foil puppet. Fifth, Hillary added blue construction paper circles for eyes, two orange construction paper crescent moons for eyebrows, purple pipe cleaners for hair, a green construction paper triangle for a nose, a red construction paper crescent moon for a mouth, two pink construction paper circles for cheeks and two yellow construction paper ears on the paper plate puppet. And sixth, Hillary added googly eyes, a small yellow pom-pom for a mouth, three red buttons, two blue construction paper mittens, and two brown construction paper shoes on the acorn-headed moss thingy puppet. So when Hillary was done making six puppets, she wrote down her artwork title, name and date. Mrs. Hubertson came back to Hillary's desk and saw six puppets she made. "Wow!" said Mrs. Hubertson. "You made these six puppets look adorable!" So Mrs. Hubertson gave Hillary an orange Puppet Maker badge and gave all her six handmade puppets an A+ with her black marker. And then Mrs. Hubertson held Hillary's hand and took in front of all the other preschool students and announced, "Let's give an applause to Hillary Magniora!" So all the other preschool students clapped their hands, cheered and whooped with joy to Hillary. Hillary was one great riddle solver and one true, spunky and fast learner. And later that day, Hillary went back home and put her Bouncing Ball, Princess and the Dragon, Little Lost Whale and Changing Tree puppet show badges and her Prop Box and Puppet Maker badges in the picture frame and put it up on the bedroom wall beside her picture frame of Nature Junior, Busy Bins, Blocks, Pattern Place and Oops Hoops Junior badges.
