Chapter 3:

Chapter 3 : Everyday highschoolers

Godless Moon

As the three boys caught up with each other, they started talking about normal things. Things that highschoolers would talk about. Grades, games, girls, hobbies, anything. They were just like any other friend group.

“Hey, so how’s it going with you and Sandra now? Are you guys still dating or what?”

Jonathan asked.

“Dude, honestly, no clue. She’s been on and off recently, and it’s like sometimes she wants me and other times she doesn’t. Girls are so hard to understand man. I seriously don’t get them.”

Marcus looked a little frustrated but was still smiling.

“Have you talked to her about it yet? Nobody really understands girls dude” replied Edward

“Yeah, go ask her friend, Jane was it? They talk to each other about literally everything dude. You could find some crazy lore about her that she never shared with you” Jonathan added

Mmmm…

Marcus was in thought. He put his head down, then up, trying to think of what the right play was.

He finally looked straight and said:

“I’m just going to give her some time. I know she cares about me, I just need to be patient!”

...

Pftt...

HAHAHA!

Jonathan instantly burst out laughing, hands on his stomach, slapping his knee, anything to mock Marcus.

“Dude, you’re like one of those people who just never stand up for themselves and let their girl walk all over them” he said, crying from laughter.

Marcus was a bit flustered. He didn’t know what to do. He was seriously confused. He wasn’t acting or anything, he genuinely thought it.

“Man, you really gotta up your game. Girls don’t like passive kinds of guys. Especially not Sandra. Y’know the whole reason why she even accepted your confession was because you were tall and muscular right? She likes them big and strong”

Jonathan was the type to say what he meant, do what he wants, etc. It didn’t really matter if he thought it would hurt the other person. He never wished to hurt anyone, but sometimes it just happens.

“Jonathan…” Edward said, with a bit of a sad tone

“You should apologize”

Jonathan looked at Marcus and saw that he was hurt. Marcus always believed that because of his playfulness and cheery personality, Sandra liked him. He never thought it was because of his body only. Marcus truly liked Sandra. Sandra wasn’t ugly, but she definitely wasn’t the hottest either.

Jonathan placed his hand on Marcus’s back, patting him up and down, trying to cheer him up.

“Hey man, listen I really didn’t mean any of it. It was a joke, seriously! I’m sorry man, I’m sure she loves you for who you are, because we love you for who you are! Right Ed?

“Yeah, he's right. We didn’t pick you up in the football club just because you were big and muscular, it was because you’re our friend.”

Marcus paused for a bit. They walked together, silent for a bit, before Marcus accepted his apology. He moved on and stuck his chest up. He was back to his confident self. The three boys went back laughing and talking about everything and anything. They walked past the school gates, and after a while, got to the main hallway.

“Hey, meet up at the same spot after classes?” asked Jonathan

“You already know, I’ll let you know what I find out with Jane”

“Sure, I’ll go today. You should bring Sandra and Jane both, maybe you guys can lighten the situation and talk it out” Edward said, with a bit of extra

“Alright, see you guys!”

And just like that, the three boys split off and went to their own classrooms.
