Breaking even

Going back in time to the start of round 7, the entire playing hall went silent as Mimoko and "Rize" vanished in a flash of blue light. Mimoko's friends were all thrown off, but forced to regain their composure as Raymond deemed the phenomenon legal under the final round rules.

"Why do they even allow those rules," Yuusuke fumed as he opened the game by moving his pawn to g3.

"Why are you showing more concern for some random girl than this match?" Bibi snarled as she moved her pawn to d5.

"Um, she's my friend!" Yuusuke snarled as he moved his knight to f3.

"I don't care," Bibi scoffed as she moved her pawn to g6.

"You're that girl Utami always beats. I don't need to worry about you more than Inoue's safety," Yuusuke scoffed back as he moved his bishop to g2.

"Says the one who's doomed the commentator to a life of bald and ink over his failure to gain elo. In fact, you might have even lost some," Bibi huffed as she moved her bishop to g7.

Yuusuke went silent as he moved his pawn to d4. That jibe really rattled him as it was completely true. Even if he were to win this game, he'd most likely finish with a rating lower than what he had from the start.

Sensing blood on the water, Bibi began to smirk as she moved her knight to f6, yet Yuusuke's chess suffered no direct hit as of yet as he moved his pawn to c4. Bibi decided to prod and captured the pawn at c4 with her d-pawn, but Yuusuke still held the foundation together and moved his knight to a3. Frustrated, Bibi made the more aggressive play of queen to d5, prompting Yuusuke to default to a king's side castle. Bibi also castled king's side, yet now it was Yuusuke's turn to be aggressive as he moved his knight to e5.

"You're a loser. You're a disgrace to your mother who serves as an inspiration," Bibi snarled as she moved her queen to e6.

"You think I haven't heard that before!? I'm really pissed off, so piss me off more and I'll clobber ya," Yuusuke snarled back as he captured the pawn at c4 with his a-knight.

"You'd dare hit a woman!?" Bibi gasped as she recoiled in shock and moved her rook to d8.

"Um, kaa-san's always preaching about gender equality and that," Yuusuke nervously mumbled as he moved his pawn to b3.

"Please, that is NOT true gender equality," Bibi scoffed as she moved her knight to c6.

"'Equality's a world where if someone punches you in the face, you punch em back regardless of who they are' is what kaa-san always says, though if I try to punch her back, she just beats me even harder," Yuusuke trembled as he captured the knight at c6 with his knight.

"Wh- What barbarity," Bibi shuddered as she captured the knight at c6 with her b-pawn.

"Kaa-san is a wild animal, but at least she's hot," Yuusuke mumbled as he moved his bishop to b2.

"You... You see your own mother like that?" Bibi glared in disgust as she moved her knight to g4.

"What's wrong with you!? If I don't praise her looks, she'll kill me!" Yuusuke cried as he moved his pawn to h3.

"That doesn't answer the question," Bibi snarled as she moved her knight to f6.

"What are you talking about!? Kaa-san's hot, but she does NOT turn me on! She's my own mother! I'm not some freak perv that gets turned on by his own mom!" Yuusuke fumed as he moved his rook to c1.

"Wasn't there an article about how you were crying for your mother in Budapest?" Bibi scoffed as she moved her knight to e4.

"That was... Ugh," Yuusuke groaned in resignation as he moved his queen to d3.

The Budapest memory was a bitter humiliation for him, that thanks to the heavy media presence on site at the time, he'd never be able to live down.

"Stark naked in the playing hall, only to be coddled by mommy later in the stands. You disgrace the halls of chess with your vulgarity," Bibi spat as she moved her knight to g5.

"Uh, you not see Iori stripping nude when she plays!?" Yuusuke fumed as he moved his pawn to h4.

"I know not of who you speak of. Check!" Bibi glared as she moved her knight to h3.

Despite all the vitriol being directed his way, Yuusuke found himself oddly calm. "Huh, if I go here, doesn't it kinda trap her?" he thought as he moved his king to h2.

"Why are your facial muscles relaxing," Bibi growled as she moved her pawn to a5.

"Maybe because I can see a way to kicking your ass," Yuusuke smirked as he moved his pawn to f4.

"As if!" Bibi scoffed as she moved her pawn to h6.

But Bibi really was beginning to get nervous, especially as Yuusuke continued to constrict her by moving his pawn to f5. She promptly captured said pawn with her g-pawn, but found herself unable to hide her angst any longer after Yuusuke captured the knight at h3 with his bishop.

"What's with all the sweat? It's gonna ruin that shabby yukata of yours," Yuusuke taunted as Bibi moved her queen to d6.

"Shut up!"

"Sucks your rating's lower than mine, otherwise this win might've helped me break even or notch up my rating a point or two," Yuusuke sighed as he captured the pawn at f5 with his bishop.

"YOU'LL REGRET THOSE WORDS!" Bibi shouted as she captured the pawn at d4 with her bishop.

"Nah, because I'm gonna win for real. Check," Yuusuke smirked as he moved his bishop to h7.

Bibi grinded her teeth in fury as she moved her king to g7, with her rage soon exploding into a frustrated scream after Yuusuke delivered a nasty check via capturing her bishop at d4 with his bishop, forcing her to capture said bishop with her queen.

"Don't go screaming just yet. I respect women, kind of, so the queen stays on the board for now. Check," Yuusuke grinned as he captured the pawn at f7 with his rook.

Rage exploded on Bibi's face. "YOU TAKE ME FOR A FOOL!?" she fumed as she slammed her king down on h8.

"Ah, really was hoping you'd take it. Oh well. Check," Yuusuke shrugged as he captured the queen at d4 with his queen.

"I'M NOT A FOOL!" Bibi shouted as she captured the queen at d4 with her rook.

"Wanna bet on it?" Yuusuke asked as he moved his knight to e5.

"LIKE I'D HUMOR YOU! CHECK!" Bibi roared as she captured the pawn at h4 with her rook.

"Uh... sure," Yuusuke nodded as he captured the rook at h4 with his g-pawn.

All of Bibi's rage quickly evaporated into sweat as she began to breath heavily. Her hand trembled madly as she moved her bishop to f5, but no sooner did she take her hand off said piece did Yuusuke capture it with his own bishop.

"No, I've already lost so many games... NOT ANOTHER ONE!" Bibi cried as she moved her pawn to c5.

"You walked into this mess," Yuusuke scoffed as he moved his rook to g1.

"I CAN'T ACCEPT THIS!" Bibi tearfully fumed as she moved her rook to g8.

"Well too bad. Checkmate, I'm taking all the paltry elo I'll get from this win," Yuusuke smirked as he moved his rook to h7, winning the game.

No sooner did he do so did Mimoko suddenly plop back into the playing hall, unconscious.

"Inoue? Oi, Inoue!" Yuusuke cried as he ran over to Mimoko.

"Ngh... Drew... Drew future... me," Mimoko mumbled.

"Looks like she's finished with her game. A draw, I believe it was," Raymond nodded as he slowly approached the two.
