Chapter 15:

Episode 15

AWU Alliance

After the First Impressions club activity, days went by without club activities since the teachers said the students must focus on their upcoming exams.

-During Afternoon Classes-

The third-years in Class One are having their art class. Their teacher instructed them to pair up with one girl and one boy which totally ruined Ayumi’s plan to team up with her seatmate, Iori. Their activity for today is to draw each other’s portraits.

“Will you stop goofing around, you goofball? I can’t finish my drawing with you moving around too much like a person who has worms stuck on his butt!” Iori reprimanded her student council president, Jin, as she pointed her pencil at him.

Jin kept making funny and goofy faces that irritated Iori to no end. Heck, she’s this close to stab Jin with her sharpened pencil. But then, Iori noticed something.

“How come you’re not drawing at all? Are you finished already?” Iori said, her gaze focused on her drawing.

“Of course, I’m done. I can draw my vice president’s portrait by heart. Piece of cake.” Jin said as he showed his drawing to Iori, flashing a dashing smile. He’s very proud of his work.

To Iori’s surprise, Jin drew her face as if a photo was taken. She forgot that Jin indeed has artistic talent. “So, this is what I look like in your eyes?” words escaped from Iori’s mouth, clearly awed by her own portrait.

On the other side of the classroom, another pair is having their own sweet time.

“Why am I stuck with this crazy flirt?” Ayumi blurted her thoughts out loud but still goes on drawing Bleex’s portrait. She wouldn’t want to have a failing score on her activity.

Meanwhile, her partner, Bleex, lost count on how many papers he crumpled because of his numerous retries on drawing Ayumi’s portrait.

“To have the honor of drawing Kit- I mean the school goddess! This humble soul shall do his very best.” Bleex said with fiery passion as he had full concentration in drawing, to which, Ayumi couldn’t resist rolling her eyes in exasperation.

When Ayumi looked at Bleex, she remembered what he said about his first impressions of Lucas. More like, something about Lucas’ reaction bothered her. It looked like Lucas was panicking back then, and it took a while before he calmed down to tell his first impression of Ayumi.

Besides that, she didn’t expect Lucas' first impression of her. As Ayumi recalled his words:

“Ayumi has that o-outstanding confidence, making h-her so lovable. She’s not just m-my role model, Ayumi is my goal.”

Lucas’ words gave a big push on Ayumi’s motivation.

‘Still, I wonder why Lucas’ has that kind of expression on his face when Bleex told his impression. I’m worried.’ Ayumi thought as she continued to draw Bleex’s portrait.

Meanwhile, the first-years are having their Music lesson in the Music Room. The music teacher is playing the piano while the whole class is singing the assigned song but suddenly-

“ACHOOOO!” Lucas loudly sneezed. It was a rare instance to get to hear Lucas’ voice out loud.

“Lucas, dear, are you cold? Do you want to visit the school infirmary?” Ms. Ericka, the music teacher, told him

Lucas shook his head to deny Ms. Ericka’s offer then the lesson continued. Everyone in the class sang but there’s one particular person who stood out among them.

When Ms. Ericka couldn’t take it anymore, she stopped playing the piano and said:

“Shion Ash, I’m afraid you need to take extra lessons for this upcoming assignment. You kept confusing Re for Sol and Do for Mi.”

“I’m sorry, Teach. I’ll try harder.” Shion replied as she gave out a carefree smile. Seated beside her, Angi always knew that her bestfriend is tone deaf and she’s a lost cause when it comes to rhythm and pitch. So, Angi is worried how will her bestfriend manage to pass her music subject.

But then, Ms. Ericka picked up a chalk and suddenly threw it at-

“Ms. Veena Bisha Mon! Don’t you dare sleep at my class.” Ms. Ericka reprimanded the sleepy Veena who kept nodding off and tried her very best to keep her eyes open. But the lack of sleep by staying up all night watching Papillon’s stream took a big toll on her body.

“Alright, it’s decided. I want you two, Ms. Shion and Ms. Veena to take extra lessons. Otherwise, you’ll fail my subject.” Ms. Ericka decided as she made a sweet smile albeit threatening.

“Yes, Ma’am.” Veena and Shion nodded in response while Angi turned her head sideways in surrender to these two hopeless friends.

Lucas only looked at them with sad puppy pity eyes.

Aside from the third-years and first-years, the second-year students are having their PE classes in the gymnasium too. It’s a joint lesson between Class One and Class Two. The PE teacher prepared a dodgeball game for the joint lesson. It’s Class One versus Class Two.

Then all students are in their position and ready for the dodgeball game.

“Let’s have a good game, Eru.” Julius said to Eru and did a high five with her

“Likewise, Julius! Let’s have a good game.” Eru replied and from a distance, Julius felt a piercing gaze. When he looked where the feeling was coming from, it was Shin shooting death glares at him.

When the PE teacher whistled to mark the start of the game, Julius threw the ball, knocking out a number of students from Class One.

Ze and Shin kept on bumping into each other while dodging the ball.

“Watch it, Mad Satan!” “Watch it, damned bastard!” Both boys simultaneously shouted at each other.

Looking at them from the other side, Eru only sighed in defeat. ‘Why don’t they just get along?’ Eru thought, then saw that Shin caught the ball.

Class Two is on their feet, especially Eru. She knows that her childhood friend, Shin, is good at both academics and sports. So, Eru prepared herself as Shin was about to throw the ball.

But to everyone’s surprise, Shin just softly threw the ball at her, and Eru caught it smoothly.

“What the flying f*ck?! This is no time to gain love points, you little-“ Ze was so busy telling off Shin, he didn’t notice Eru threw the ball at him. And so, Ze got hit and is now out of the game.

The dodgeball game went on. Each team has their own aces. Class Two has Julius Litch and Class One has Shin Wisteria. Students from each team got hit one by one. Even Eru got eliminated.

Ze is quietly watching the game from a distance. He just realized that Shin is indeed good at sports. He noticed that Shin moved around swiftly and threw the ball with enough force. Then, he suddenly felt a cold sensation on his cheek.

“Wha-?!” He reacted in defense but it was just Eru who placed a cold water bottle to his cheek. He accepted her offer and drank the drink down to the last drop.

“He’s amazing, right?” Eru said as she took a seat beside Ze

“If he is, then why the hell is he wasting away his talents by cutting class and purposely writing the wrong answers in tests?” Ze asked and pointed out what he observed about his seatmate during the time they had spent together.

“It’s because he got tired of being the number one.” Eru explained as she took a drink from the water bottle she had bought from a nearby vending machine.

“Huh…sounds complicated.” Ze replied, as his gaze fixated on the dodgeball game that he didn’t notice Eru’s weary smile

“Not really. I was watching him this whole time and I’m relieved that he finally let go of the perfect number one persona. He can finally relax and ease down.”

“Heh… you were watching him this whole time?” Ze teasingly said and Eru blushed at her words, nudging Ze’s shoulder with her elbow

“Keep on teasing me then I might mention a certain scaredy cat freshman girl to you.” Eru said with a smug look on her face that clearly shut Ze’s mouth.

The dodgeball finally ended with Class Two as the winner. Eru and Ze definitely thought that Shin purposely lost the game.

It’s finally the weekend! This Saturday, Veena invited all the AWU Alliance members to an all you can eat buffet restaurant. It’s also an early birthday celebration for Shion.

“It’s so nice of Sir Aaydan to give us all coupons for an all you can eat buffet.” Ayumi said, taking another bite of her carbonara.

“He said it’s a token of his gratitude for letting Lily move on and rest in peace.” Words from Veena’s mouth were almost incomprehensible because Veena kept talking with food in her mouth.

“Veena, slow down and don’t talk when your mouth is full.” Shion said as she wiped off some crumbs from Veena’s mouth.

“Indeed, I mean, don’t copy that monster of a glutton who already had who knows how many servings on his plate.” Angi said as she pointed at Shin, who was happily wolfing down the delicious food.

Eru keeps pouring Shin a glass of water whenever Shin is about to choke.
