Chapter 2:
ESCAPE
The roads are full of young minds walking, some smiling, others talking but for me I’m all alone. I put my hood up. It covers my face ugly face.I decide to take a shortcut. the shortcut is a deserted place but that doesn't matter. My death will only bring happiness. Anyway, what worth could I bring. I keep on walking through through the deserted alleyway. I walk. Out of the corner of my eye I see a teen smoking. I keep on walking, trying not to get any attention. I did not want to get picked on. It hurts. Knowing that you're not loved. Knowing that you cannot fend for yourself. Knowing people hate you. I wish sometimes that I could just roll up into a cocoon and never come back to this world. The beautiful polluted smoke from the cigarette raids my breath. I start to cough violently, my spit flies through the air as I try to walk out of the smoke. I decide to look around as I see a man- around the thirties- come near me. I keep on walking. Wondering if I'm being followed.Five turns. That's all it takes to determine if the person behind you is a stalker.
My first turn. The man still following. Still not enough to determine anything.
Second turn This time I end up getting myself onto a busy road. The man? Still following me.
Third turn. This time I'm back into a deserted neighbourhood. I check my pockets. Shit! I forgot my phone at home. This time the man behind me is joined by several other men. All wearing the same attire.
Fourth turn I start to panic. Sweat invades my fingertips. My legs shake from fear. The man still follows me.
Fifth turn.I'm in a park. No CCTV cameras, not witnesses. The man is still behind me. There is only one chance for survival for me now. That was to attract attention. I try to scream. Instead my voice breaks down. It croaks. It shakes. It stutters. But nothing. My whole body shakes. I have to use all of my strength just to stand. But nothing. Instead more men emerge. all surrounding me.
I start to look around. Whatever I do, I cannot get inside a vehicle. My legs shaking even more. There, a white truck. It was right in front of me. I turn around. I run. Fear was now running through my body. Fear was my adrenaline. I was fear. I run. Knowing, I don't stand a chance against these masculine men. But I have to survive. I search my pockets. looking for a sharp object. I yank my keys and lunge at the man in front. of me. Shit! I miss. Instead another man strikes a punch at my ribs. I spit out blood. Adrenaline rushes around my body.I twist my body Lunging a kick. It moves through the air with precision. Only to be caught. The mysterious hand then pulls my leg making me fall. Suddenly, a Hispanic looking man approaches me. In his masculine hands he had a baseball bat. The bat has scratchings all over it. He swings the baseball bat furiously, as my whole body pushed forward. I feel my head as my fingers sink into the freshly made hole. Pain sears throughout my body, I look at my hands. Crimson red blood. My whole body fills with nausea. I drop on to the hard ground as more blood starts to gush out.
Is this really it? what have I does with my shitty life. How useless am I? Who am I to deserve such a life. I did nothing. Even my final moment I achieved nothing. I want one more chance. One more chance to fix this. Please god! I want to die with no regrets.
I scream one last time. Begging for one last chance. I open my eyes. Only to be greeted with white walls. In front of me was something hideous, monstrous. It has blood red skin. Its fangs were drenched in blood. It had a withered body. It was bald with two horns. Two gigantic wings towering behind him. It was crouched and naked. The Devil.
"I have a deal for you. I will give you another chance in life.In return you will do something for me," The thing said in a deep voice. I know what my answer is going to be. He does too.
