Chapter 11:

Frightening Night, Andies Favor.

My little sister

On a foggy day blemished by downpour, Tsuna and Ryuji found themselves without shelter. Walking through the rain with only an umbrella shielding them. She ran into the building up ahead and Ryuji followed behind walking up to a decrepit old building, the windows shattered only being held together by the boards haphazardly nailed throughout it. He walked around watching the sign hanging overhead read the old restaurant's name had been exed out in red spray paint.

Grotesk moss clung to the brick walls of the outside and accenting it were some unidentifiable liquids that dripped into the cracked sidewalk. The building had been in disrepair but the glass doors that had only been framed by a thin piece of what appeared to be aluminum had been spotless, not even a stain blemished the door that seemed to be outside of time. It was so out of place on this piece of junk building; Ryuji even hesitated, worrying that it might shatter at the slightest touch but when he pushed it, the door moved like any other for him. Maybe it was his mind wandering due to the building's eerie vibe, getting so caught in what could be that the world around him disappeared.

He turned to say something to Tsuna but she saw her just ahead behind the door. Spinning around causing stray water particles to fly off getting on the lenses of Ryuji’s glasses. Watching his wife run out of the cold rain made him lose all environmental awareness, immediately taking off his jacket and shirt, putting his dry shirt over her head. Kneeling down lightly to take her hand and lead her to somewhere that would be safe for her to sit.

“I don’t want you to catch a cold, let's find somewhere to rest so we can get you dry.”

Tsuna snickered to herself looking up at her brother.

“It has been some time since the last time you wanted to see me dry big bro.”

Ryuji rolled his eyes smiling to himself,

“Hardy har har.”

As Ryuji was absorbed in making sure his wife was taken care of, Tsuna's eyes wandered around the establishment. For a moment her mind eased up feeling this nostalgic blanket calm her. He took his shirt off to cover her before getting off his knee to ruffle it drying her hair, a little bit of the dye in it staining the shirt. She was now not taking in her surroundings and watching something far more intriguing that being her brother's chest, he smiled to himself saying meekly,

“Do you have any plans to look up at me? Since you know, my eyes are up here and all.”

Tsuna looked up excitedly as if she had been waiting for him to point this out.

“Yeah four of them, I’m more of a fan of pairs of two.”

He knew he had already fallen in her trap but he thought he might be able to get over it if he deployed a counter to this,

“You know you got glasses too right dummy?”

Tsuna flinched for a moment before going exactly like the script in her head said,

“Two pecs, two hands, two bal-”

Ryuji knelt down, giving her a peck on the lips. Running his hands through her hair caressing her as if she was the most important thing in the world. He then put his lips to her ears whispering,

“Just shut up and get undressed already.”

Tsuna’s posture shot straight up in panic before sighing to herself in realization muttering,

“You're not gonna actually do anything are you.”

Ryuji smiled, grabbing her cheeks, squishing them playfully.

“You're right, I just wanna make sure you’re not wearing drenched clothes all night before we get the chance to leave. And after all the work I put into making sure you had clean clothes before we skipped town.”

Tsuna’s powerful demeanor started to weaken as she got a little teary, matching his eyes in between his hand’s grasps.

“Thanks big bro, though, can you please turn around for me.”

Before he did as she said he brought down his hands to her waist bringing her in for a kiss. After she did as she asked, sitting down on the floor as she changed behind him. He looked at his phone notifications as she was doing it, checking the webnovel to see if it might have gotten another spike in views but sure enough nothing. It's what he gets for not posting often but he would be lying if he didn’t kinda wish for a dopamine spike.

Tsuna poked his shoulder.

“You can turn around now.”

Ryuji did and he asked,

“Are you war-?”

He was cut off by his own sneeze. Tsuna looked down on him cockily with a smile plastered across her face.

“Now, I think it's time you stop worrying about me and oh, how did you put it? Shut up and strip for me?”

Ryuji propped himself up stiffly pouting,

“I said undress.”

Tsuna sat right in front of where he was sitting.

“Yeah yeah just get into a new change of clothes.”

Ryuji spoke tauntingly as he stood up and began to get undressed,

“Are you sure a perv like you can handle a man being naked around you without pouncing?”

Ryuji looked back to see Tsuna who had been staring at his naked back locking eyes. Her expression began to quiver before Ryuji slowly crumbled into an almost mocking laughter.

A hulking mass of metal tuned in with the noise of the establishment. It had been something that had once been common to them but now it had been so long. Andy the angler fish’s head slowly rotated, breaking apart the scabbing of the organic cluster inside. This motion repeated day in and day out was once a repeated daily motion. Sometimes forced, sometimes not, but always, without a doubt, excruciating. And it was motions like that which made what used to be an easily recognizable corpse, turned into a vile organic paste that tugged endlessly against the metal joints. If the habitant could let out a vocal it would only be pained cries though they weren’t even spared that luxury.

Though, becoming a spectral entity came with what some would call a perk. Their soul may have been tethered to the animatronic but their soul was linked to this old building. Allowing them to feel when some wanderer made their way into the restaurant. It felt like this violent buzzing that forced a skull that had been long deteriorated to slam against what was left of a brain over and over with no rest. It was pure pain, they needed them out, now.
The pain in its brain couldn’t even hold a candlelight to the pain of wandering souls on its grounds. So despite the striking pain, it began to creep. The anglerfish walked down off the stage, the dark green light piercing the darkness of the building. Echoing between the walls was the sound of metal slamming against tile. The metal creature couldn’t see but it could feel where two souls resided, the pain led them to where the prize corner.

The animatronic stalked the two souls, not with vision but by feeling and noise. The noise gave feeling, it heard the conversations between the two souls and even with the half and inch iron wall separating them they could make out the emotions being presented to one another. It was warm, it reminded the sentient ooze inside the machine of the day before they were trapped here. A warm feeling penetrated its soul, it wove together something that would closest be resembled to a desire to be around them longer but this wish was suffocated by the pain in its brain so it lurked closer, tearing off the blanket of darkness as it advanced.

Tsuna laid on top of Ryuji as he held her close by her back. Both being freshly clothed and warm they cuddled. Tsuna’s eyes were closed resting her head on Ryuji’s shoulder. But Ryuji’s eyes were darting around the location behind Tsuna.

First, he thought the shifting of the shadows was just his imagination then the blue hue went from a navy blue to a dirtied turquoise. Its obtuse size moved across the shadows nearly silently. The inconsistent hue in the shadows stood between them trapping them inside. Ryuji worried if he tried to signal Tsuna in any way it would run at them before they got to their feet so hurriedly, he moved his hands to cup Tsuna so that he could carry her in a bridal carry and ran away deeper into the establishment.

Noises and lights began to rattle across the damp walls of the establishment with a distinct clanking following their path. Ryuji’s breath was already running thin but he still tried to explain what was happening. He looked down to meet her eyes and the most relaxed, comfy expression was washed over her face. It almost made him want to steady his run just to make it easier for her to drift asleep but looking behind him he saw the metal mass grab the corner he just cleared and ripped the wall’s corner straight off the frame.

Looking back at Tsuna he slapped her face before moving her head to be straight in front of a bright neon light flashbanging her. Making her jolt and grab the collar of his shirt yelling,

“AND JUST WHAT WAS THAT F-” Ryuji bit at her hair to make her look behind them seeing the rotten light of Andie’s esca. Tsuna nodded before Ryuji dropped her and picked up a stride.”Understood, thank you for not abandoning me.”

Tsuna’s run was naturally faster than Ryuji’s so she led them. Turning back she shouted,

“Lets start making our way to the arcade!”

Ryuji reached for Tsuna’s hand and clasped it saying in a now excited tone as he pulled out his smart phone,

“Alright I am going to trust you to lead! I’m gonna try and snap a pic while you get us where we need to be!”

Tsuna screamed back, squeezing his hand in frustration.

“Could you fucking live in the moment for once so we can live long enough to see the next?”

Ryuji lined up the shot turning on the flash so the camera could pick up what he was shooting saying,

“Wow, that was a really good one! You should do more quips if that's gonna be the standard.”

Tsuna turned back, scolding,

“RYUJI SHUT THE FUCK UP AND PUT YOUR PHONE AWAY!”

Ryuji smiled, snapping a picture. The flash of the phone's light assaulted the creature's eyes, it seemed to go limp for a second leaning into a fall before moments later regaining its senses then lunging forward only losing minimal ground.

Ryuji excitedly whipped back to see Tsuna.

“Oh, oh, oh Sis! Apparently the monster gets discombobulated when it sees the flash of my phone camera!”

Tsuna rolled her eyes before finally clearing the entrance of the arcade. The arcade lit up with lights and sounds. The aquatic robot flung itself out of the darkness and into the light of the arcade. First on all fours before growing to be more bipedal leaning against itself as it scanned the room. It may of not seen but it felt the buzz of Ryuji standing alone at the other side of the room. The lights from all around masking the pain of the other, it would find the other later, for now its focus was on what it could feel.

Leaning forward to begin its stride, gunning straight for Ryuji. Tsuna, who was hiding in between two arcade machines, put her back to it, squatting the Skii-ball table and tipping it over. The bright red balls scoured themselves around the carpet in between Ryuji and the metal mass. One of the balls wormed its way underneath the monster's foot, the ball made the point of pressure much smaller which caused the ball to peirce through the water logged floor. Then when its foot hit the ground the already compromised floor broke from underneath it. The floor becoming a two foot deep crater, it falling face first in it. Tsuna ran back through the door they came in from saying,

“Ryuji get over here!”

Ryuji ran forward jumping on to then off the animatronics, grabbing Tsuna’s hand and going forward. Looking back smiling he said,

“Did you mean to do that?”

Tsuna sped up to go in front of Ryuji leading him, she shouted through the halls,

“I meant to trip him and he fell so close enough!”

The two looked ahead and another creature like the one before was just in front of the exit blocking their way. Tsuna’s body stiffened, stopping her stride but Ryuji threw her over his shoulder and kept running. He pulled out his phone once again and took a picture. The flash shining into the machine's eyes letting him sneak by on the right side. Ryuji slammed his shoulder on the door to open it, flinging out of the doorway. The two fell to the ground, trying to scramble their way back to their feet but the angler fish monster that was just sat down on the other side of the door.

Ryuji fascinated tapped the glass as he spoke,

“I don’t think they can make it out Tsuna.”

Tsuna sat down underneath the Ryuji, both still under the canopy. Ryuji curiously asked,

“Don’t you want to be further away from that thing?”

Tsuna didn’t say anything for a moment before looking up, seeming to just comprehend what he said.

“Yeah, maybe. I think we have been here before. It was your birthday I think maybe your fifteenth?”
Ryuji scowled saying,

“Weird thing to remember.”

Tsuna looked up with a cold expression.

“I think it's weird that you don't, but I digress. Seeing this place in ruin is weird. I understand that bad things happen but, knowing that, I couldn't even imagine what could have happened here.” Tsuna paused, biting her tongue. “Makes me feel sick for being so uneducated.” She looked back at Ryuji, determined. “We are older now aren’t we? We’re meant to have more control over situations like this, more experience but I still just feel like an observer. I wanna do more.”

Ryuji knelt down keeping his eyes to the animatronic while he held her.

“Just because we’re older doesn’t mean we are omnipotent. No matter age we can’t change that. We are only us, we do good where we can but if you stress about every bad thing that happens to anyone then you’ll never help the people you can.”

Ryuji caressed her cheek asking,

“Do you wanna sleep out here? I’ll stay awake just in case.”

Tsuna looked back, her eyes beginning to water.

“I don’t want to be a burden.”

Ryuji smiled, picking her up and setting her on his lap making sure she didn’t touch the moist ground.

“It's fine if you are, that's the purpose of love right? So we can be a burden to one another.”

Tsuna nodded, turning around to face him and burying her face into his shoulder blocking out any outside light. The moment she drifted asleep Ryuji took off his flannel and put it over her to keep her warm. And throughout the night the rain only got harder but Ryuji stayed away protecting his sister. Killing bugs as they approached them, even if it made him squirm every time they did. She deserved it.

I really did stretch it so I could get the acronym fnaf in the title but hey I pulled it off (somewhat) subtly. I hope you enjoyed it and this made me want to make something much bigger with this concept. Mini Nia would be proud. Now as always go check the youtube, twitter, and twitch. I have a whole animation being worked on for the big release of my novel so go check it out!
