Prologue

NOAH

All I ever had was a dream, to live a life filled with music.

When I was a kid, every single moment of my life felt like a symphony. I danced to every song I heard, classical, rock, jazz, rap, pop and ecc. I longed to play, to create, to let the music pour out of me.

But I couldn’t fulfill that dream. All because of my parents… they hated music, especially my mom, with a strictness I could never understand. I never knew why, and maybe I never would.

I thought I could wait, bide my time until I could leave. But even then, I knew they would do everything to make sure I never followed the musical life I craved.

And then… one day, I met a girl.

I’ll tell you this, the moment we met, I ran away screaming in terror.

My name is Noah Hymnody Maesutoro and this is my story, how I went against my parents, how I chased my dream… all because of a girl who I just met.

When I was little, all I ever did was sing. Singing made everything better. In fact, I dreamed of becoming a singer, so that I could have a reason to share my voice with the world.

But there was a problem: who would ever listen?

For as long as I could remember, I had lived in a world where I was the only one. What was the point of singing if no one would hear me?

I thought I was truly alone… until the day I met a boy. And for reasons I couldn’t understand, he screamed at me and ran away.

My name is Melody. This is the story of how I went against the world, how I chased my dream… all because of a boy I met.
