Chapter 2:
Tokusatsu Otaku Dragon Sword Waifu
“I’M LITERALLY A TOKUSATSU HERO!”
Ririka exclaimed as she burst out of bed - cheering as she stood there in a pair of white thigh shorts that she slept in, as well as a tight white t shirt that showed her naturally toned midriff, and had the full color logo of one of her favorite tokusatsu shows emblazoned on it! She smiled to herself as she then looked at the crystal that Hazaki had mentioned, which was now sitting on her desk. Like her room, the white crystal was neat and tidy - carved into a smooth, palm sized shape.
Her room itself was on the second floor of a typical Japanese style house, with all sorts of tokusatsu posters nearly lining the walls, all held nicely in nearly paper thin, clear putty-mounted frames. Even her traditional futon bed had a comforter that had an American adaptation of one of her favorite tokusatsu properties as its printed design!
As Ririka took a deep breath, she closed the door to her room fully, before talking the small, carved white crystal in her hands, before striking a powerful pose, thrusting out the crystal.
“IT’S FURY TIME! WHITE DRAGON!”
Ririka boldly announced as she was instantly suited in her skin tight, exceptionally lightweight, magical armor! Yet she could see through the triangular red visor of her helmet that something else was different - it had just been a sunny Tuesday morning in Kyoto, but there was suddenly a roaring thunderstorm! Before she could take note of that - the Dragon sword was thrown straight down in a flash of light from the heavens, through the roof of her house, and landing stabbed into the floor of her room before her, standing there straight with a white glow! The ancient textural characters on the thick, uniquely curved blade glowed.
“WHAT!? OH NO - HOW DO I EXPLAIN THIS TO MOM AND DAD………..good to know that that’s how the Dragon Sword is summoned though!”
Ririka frantically said to hear of before refocusing and tapping the crystal that was in the center chest of her armor three times, as it and the Dragon Sword disappeared, but the thin bit noticeable hold from the curling to the roof was still there, as well as the stab mark in the floor of her room! As if on queue, the sky was sunny once again - but a different sort of “thundering” noise appeared: that of her parents coming up the stairs!
“RIRIKA! ARE YOU ALRIGHT!?”
Her father burst in - miraculously not spilling the coffee that was in his black and silver travel mug, while dressed in his typical tight and stylish suit, with his greying black hair slicked back, as well as her mother who followed in behind him, and who looked like a couple decades older version of Ririka, but wearing dark blue yoga pants and a short sleeve, waist short, elegant white button up blouse! Their names were Hideaki and Kayako, respectively.
“Hai! But the ceiling, roof, and floor aren’t! There was a lightning strike that hit!”
Ririka replied, making a story up on the spot as she bowed and then hugged her parents, who while hugging her back, surveyed the damage, seemingly believing the completely made up story. It wasn’t that Hideaki and Kayako were as gullible as countless gaijin - just that they were glad that Ririka was safe, and that they wouldn’t be able to believe the truth about a magic sword descending from the heavens upon a special command!
“Well, we’re glad that you’re ok, and we’ll get this repaired! Oh my goodness, what could’ve caused such a brief storm I wonder?”
Kayako said as Ririka quietly looked both ways and shrugged - knowing that she’d only make things awkward recounting a (truthful) tale of falling magical swords, magical carved crystals, henshin-transformation armor, and an immortal magical dragon living in an illusory feudal era Japanese castle! Ririka then smiled softly at her parents as she swiftly pushed the crystal behind a small stack of her textbooks, as she then grabbed a fresh school uniform!
“I have to get ready for school!”
Ririka said excitedly - trying her best to hide her nervousness as her parents then went back downstairs to prepare for the day, talking about who to call to get repairs on the house drains care if quickly! As they left and closed the door, Riruka sighed with relief and proceeded to shower, brush her teeth, do her hair and makeup, and get her uniform on for school!
“I wonder what the villains will be like……nos that I and my new friends are all tokusatsu heroes…..?”
Ririka said to herself as she got on her short, tight, and cute dark blue sailor school uniform on, veggie pulling up her thigh high stockings and heading downstairs, grabbing some toast along the way as she waved goodbye and smiled to Kayako, as Hideaki had already headed to work as the ever dutiful salaryman! With a piece of toast in her mouth, Ririka headed off to school!
Yet as a government limousine rolled by, Ririka didn’t know that the driver and three passengers inside - were all actually the villains she’d wondered about in disguise!
“Humans are so gullible! They don’t know that they’ve elected the harbingers of their doom into positions of power!”
One of the female politicians, a woman of about thirty in a black, red, and white, tight, short skirt suit with lovely black hair and porcelain skin said as she then transformed into her true form as Azaka, the Death Queen. Her true form gave her black lipstick, completely ink-stained, shining black teeth, bihaku white skin that was supernatural, not from makeup, with thigh high shining, skin tight leather platform boots with skull designs on the platforms and on the knee parts of her boots, with a short white skirt full of screaming yokai faces patterned on it, as well as a dark red and black, shiny armored blouse patterned with two oni faces - one on each side of her chest, with skin tight sleeves on her forearms, and a baggy fit on her sleeves from the slow upwards.
“That girl - that schoolgirl we just passed, I sense that she now has the power of the White Dragon, that she is a Dragon Fury. But I feel that she’s not alone.”
Another of the young, female politicians said who was similarly dressed, but in the orange and white colors of the Sanseito Party. As she transformed, she revealed a far different look in her natural form. She was Sadako, the Curse Courtesan. She had pale grey skin, with blue lips and dark green and black hair that only reached the base of her neck, but which covered her eyes, revealing only her beautifully smooth cheeks and her equally attracted dark green lips. Her too consisted of chest and shoulder armor that had a woman holding her cheeks and screaming patterned as her shoulder armor, with the imprints of grabbing hands patterned on her chest armor. This armor was a light aquamarine in color, while the skin tight, long sleeve top that she had on under it was black and patterned with screaming white faces! She wore a skirt made of identical, sharp, light aquamarine colored blades, slightly curved up pointed light aquamarine shoes, and black leggings with the same pattern as on the sleeves of her top.
“One or one hundred - it won’t matter how many underlings Hazaki has once we free Sazaki, and Yumeko’s essence is able to find and possess a new suitable host - we’ll be unstoppable!”
A further one of the politicians added, who was also very similarly dressed, but in dark blue and black! This villain too, transformed into their true form, Kazashi, the Slayer of Souls. She had almost neon red hair that was held in a bone human hand that was tightly clenched, with pale white skin, and eyes, lipstick, and teeth that were an equal shade of red. Her outfit had turned into a red and white, thigh lengthen shirt kimono with the pattern being curved blade shapes, along with thigh high white socks with the top half being white and the lower half being red, with sparkling red, lightweight shoes.
“We need to ensure that the pagoda is destroyed without interruption, and then that the humans leave the rest to us! Though these disguises should help with that.”
Their driver, in a feminine, tight, fancy black suit, chained into a white skinned, short yellow haired, yellow eyed girl with a tight, almost flat, armored yellow mask covering her mouth and nose. Her hands up to her elbows were yellow, with her fingers and thumbs being black. This was Wazaka, the Venom Princess. Beneath a tube-top type of tight fitting, multi-horizontal strapped, black and white shiny leather top, she had on black and white striped thigh high socks and sharply pointed yellow flat healed shoes.
Ririka didn’t think much of the government limousine that had passed as she nibbled the toast that she’d brought with her, only to be startled by a presence in front of her that expertly leaped over a low wall that she was passing by!
“Good morning, Tokugawa-san! Are you settling in ok? I was thinking about you last night after well - what had happened on your first day of school. I tried out my powers - and I have to admit the red suit, red crystal, and enhanced strength, speed and durability with the power of a phoenix feels great! And I thought I felt powerful being on the Student Council at school!”
Mako said as she blushed, before hugging Ririka as Ririka jumped, then leaned in and hugged Mako back.
“Thank you for asking, Miyamura-san! Being a total tokuota - I’m actually really loving this! But I learned that when I activate my White Dragon powers - a thunderstorm appears and my Dragon Sword crashes down from the sky! I just - I just can’t shake the feeling that there’s more to that weapon, like there’s this strange text etched into the blade in a language that looks similar to, but isn’t Japanese. What’s strange is when I see the textual etchings glow - I can almost hear feint music.”
Ririka said as she almost trailed off, pausing to think about how she’d actually said that out loud, but Mako understood her situation perfectly. Before Mako could respond, Jade ran across the street from her house in front of Mako and Ririka, blowing a massive pink bubble of gum before popping and chewing it with a smile.
“So like - are we all supposed to totally worry about getting into a top university - and - saving the world as like tokusatsu heroes!? But like, I totally love that I got the pink magical armor and the power of a unicorn, don’t get my wrong!”
Jade blurted out as Mako rolled her eyes and smiled and Ririka bowed politely to her. Jade then joined them in walking to school.
“So Miyamura-san, like how is Student Council? Are you like totally feeling like more of a stellar Vice President now!?”
Jade asked surely as Mako simply blushed Andria looked impressed!
“It’s not that big a deal - I just want to serve the school and the student body, Kobayashi-san! Magical armor and fighting abilities or not, I’m just me.”
Mako responded as she blushed, while Ririka gave her a quick hug.
“You didn’t tell me that you’re the Student Council Vice President!”
Ririka exclaimed with interest and excitement as once again, before Mako could respond, another one of their friends joined them from their house, this time it was Aiko!
“Hi, Kamakura-san! How are you doing?”
Ririka happily greeted her Aiko with. Aiko blushed and smiled, returning the bow and waking with them. Aiko seemed genuinely happy to be asked that question.
“Well according to all of my research and study literature, Tokugawa-san, I haven’t been able to find any matches for this crystal, or any matches for the materials of our respective armors. Suffice to say, magic has stunned my scientific mind.”
Aiko said before they saw someone do a flip over their fence before landing perfectly in front of them with a wooden katana in a carrying case. It was Mei, who smiled at them and bowed.
“Wow, Tomazawa-san! That was seriously impressive - and you don’t even have your armor on! How are you though? It seems like you’re taking this well.”
Ririka exclaimed as she bowed to Mei and smiled at her.
“Well, knowing that once that shrine of gone - we’re going to have to save the world and still working about college entrance exams, I’d say having that magical yellow armor and the speed and power of the Cheetah - I’m ready, Tokugawa-san! Just like in Kendo, I cannot back down from a challenge.”
Mei responded as cheerfully as she could while they all continued to school! On an increasing level of awareness, they understood that it would be their mortal and magical bonds alike that would get all of them through this time that required bravery.
