The First Author's Note

To you, my fellow hags,

It is with joyful hands that I write that the delightful hour of our reunion approaches. It is difficult to believe that it has been one whole cycle since we have all last crossed paths. The days without seeing you all, loitering in the shadow of Gramarye, documenting the mysteries of imaginarium, pass with dreadful repose, and I find myself longing for Gentiane’s inscrutable musings or Fang Fang’s saccharine poetry as I stare at volumes of unwritten stories laying by my nightstand.

And it is because I miss you all so dearly, yes, even you Khali, that I write to you today, to ask for forgiveness for preparing without your consent a unique, unplanned act for this year’s festivities. I have followed protocol, of course, and have deferred to our newest member for the time and place of our gathering and have, only with her express permission, prepared the peculiar puzzles that await us all. 

I hope you’ve prepared some popcorn.

I look forward to seeing all of you again. May this year’s tea flow like blood.
