Chapter 0:
Odyssey: The unconscious memories of Odyssey
Even if he doesn't come, I don't care. I don't even want to see him, so I'll just wait until he gets here, finish this, and then head home to level up with my friends in a video game. (Several hours pass, and the scene changes to Belt's father.)
"Thank you very much, miss."
"You're welcome, sir. Have a good day."
Fred nods, signaling that she should have a good day too.
After that, he leaves the bakery, gets in the car, and drives to the matinee where Belt's birthday is being celebrated.
Driving, he's very happy because he feels that Belt will really like the gift he bought, a gift he's wanted since he was little but has never been able to give him because of financial problems. But now that they're much better off financially, he can finally buy it for him. But at the same time, he seems discouraged because Belt is very angry with him for things he made Belt suffer since he was little.
<I hope this gift will finally make Belt forgive me.>
Fred sees his phone ringing, so he answers it, not noticing a car appearing from the left and crashing into his car. By the time his car falls over, Fred is fine.
As he's getting out of the car because the man who accidentally hit him is helping him, the car explodes, killing the people around him and Fred in the accident. (Meanwhile, at the matinee)
Two hours have passed since the matinee started, and my father hasn't returned.
I wonder if he went off to do bad things with women because, according to my mother, he was a womanizer before I was born.
<Ahhh, how I wish he'd get back so I could leave.>
> After that, Belt's mom, Emi, gets a call, but she can't answer because she's talking to Belt's cousins, so he decides to go see who it is.
<Hello, good afternoon. Who is this?> <Hello, good afternoon.
Are you related to Fred Isairis?>
Belt says yes, asking why.
<I'm sorry to tell you this, but he died in a car accident.>
Belt is stunned by what he's just been told. Just then, Emi arrives, asking who's calling.
He breaks the news to her, leaving her equally stunned, so he decides to inform everyone that the party is canceled because of Fred's death. Hours later, Belt is crying in his room, and Emi is also crying downstairs in the living room.
Suddenly, a glass shatters. Belt rushes downstairs to see what's wrong and finds Emi about to cut her wrists with a piece of glass, stopping her at the last second.
"Tell me what's wrong, Mom. What were you going to do?"
"Why didn't you let me? Your father was my only reason for living, and now he's gone. I just want to be alone."
She was actually going to do it because of Fred's death. Emi gets up from her chair to hug him and tell him she loves him very much, even though she looks very depressed and upset. Belt does the same to comfort her and make her not feel so bad, but he also feels bad.
After that, they both go upstairs to their respective rooms to sleep. Belt feels Emi calling him and wakes up to go see. But it turns out he's in another room, wearing different clothes, and now he looks like a 5-year-old boy.
"What happened to me? Where am I? I must be dreaming. I'd better get out of here and see what's going on. I'm in another house, but what is this dream? It's very strange."
"Hi, son. How did you sleep?" >
Belt is stunned to hear that because the voice sounds so much like his father's. He turns around to see who it is and sees that it's his dad standing right in front of him. Didn't he die several hours ago? Why is he still alive and looking much younger than before? What's going on here?
"Hello, my boy. Did you sleep well last night?"
It turns out Emi is there too, so Belt runs outside to see where she is because just a moment ago, Emi is devastated by Fred's death.
He opens the door and discovers he's in a different place, which looks like a village with a beautiful view of some mountains.
"Where am I? Why does everything look so different? I'd better get out of this house and see what's happening outside."
As soon as he leaves the house, his father chases after him. When he catches him, he trips him, and Belt falls, hitting his head hard on the stone floor.
<Fred, what's wrong with you? Why did you do that?
I know you were scared when you saw Belt run like that so suddenly, but that wasn't the way to act. I'll have to use healing magic on him.>
<Sorry, I think I used too much force.>
They pick up Belt, take him inside, put him on his bed, and heal him with healing magic.
Seriously, I was just healed? That only means one thing: this isn't a dream, it's another world I've just come to.
