Chapter 0:

Exerpts from the Maiden's Bible Study guide, Japan Diocese:

Fog of Spiritual War

Excerpts from the Maiden’s Bible study guide for new believers:

A Reminder to Us Defenders

“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
—The Gospel According to St. Luke 10:19–20 (NKJV)

A Warning to Us Stumblers

“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.”
— St. Paul’s 1st letter to the Corinthians 6:9–10 (NKJV)

A Promise to Us Repenters

“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1st Episal of St. John 1:8–9 (NKJV)

Though not prominent within the study guide, these verses stand as guards along the maiden’s path. This story exists to illustrate the catastrophe that occurs when they are neither known nor obeyed.
