Summoned To Another World
「I wasn't really mentioned, but just to be on the safe side, could you do that for me?」「Yah.」Zak extended his hand, channeling a faint aura into her form.「There. Now we need a place to lay low. Any recommendations?」「Well, there is. It's a town called Aries, but it's on the western side of the Kingdom.」「Were you there before?」「Yes, I have an aunt that lives there.」「Okay.」 Zak gently took her hands, his touch warm. 「Just think of your Aunt's house.」「...Blushes a bit... Oh, okay.」
Zak closed his eyes, concentrating on the mental image.~recall~He opened his eyes and released her hands.
「Thanks for that.」「Thanks for what?」「Well, now we can go there without hiding in other towns.」「What? How?」
Zak channeled a surge of mana, and the air before them tore open, manifesting as a swirling vortex of energy.~gate~
「This is how.」Iris stared, impressed by the casual display of high-tier magic.「So you can create portals? Damn, that's cool!」「Can we go now?」「OK.」
They stepped through the shimmering gateway, and it vanished silently behind them.They found themselves in a simple, well-kept home.
「Um... Aunt Louez, are you here?」A mature woman emerged from the inner rooms, her eyes sharp.「Is that you, Kniya?」「Hi, Aunt Louez. ...Chuckles nervously...」「I heard about what happened in the Capital and about the Prince. I hope he's okay.」「Don't worry, he is.」Louez's gaze fixed on Iris, assessing her changed appearance.「And look at you! You got big since last I saw you. And what did you do to your hair?」「Well, I have to disguise myself.」「Well, you have a point. ...Looks at Zak... And who's the boy?」Zak stepped forward, executing a practiced, neutral bow.「I'm Jay Lancer. It's nice to meet you.」Louez looked at Jay suspiciously, her eyes narrow and assessing.「Nice to meet you too, but what are you doing with my niece?」Iris quickly interceded, selling the prepared lie.「Well, he's the guard the Prince sent to look after me.」「Are you sure?」「Yes, I am. Besides, he's helping me look for the Prince.」Louez finally relented, though her skepticism remained visible.「OK, I'll take your word for it. But you, boy, no funny business. Got it?」「Yes, ma'am. I won't try anything funny.」「I'll only believe you since my niece vouched for you. But why are you here, Kniya?」「Mother said you could look after me till everything calms down.」「That's OK, but I only have one spare room. ...Looks at Jay...」「It's okay. I'll sleep on the floor.」「That's good to hear.」「OK, thanks, ma'am.」【This woman is brutal.】「You're welcome.」Iris took his arm, eager to escape the interrogation.「OK, then! C'mon, Jay, let's go. ...Then they went to the room... Nice work out there, "Jay."」「Well, I'm glad she didn't ask any more questions... Seems like I'll have to make more spells to help just in case something like that happens again.」
