Chapter 25:

Janga match.

Yui

“It’s game over” said Yui, faking his disappointment “Kimori saw us, we must act like a couple now, sorry about that.”

“Are we still sleeping in the same bed tonight?” asked Aku, she hoped for a specific answer.

“It will be just an attempt” Yui started to blush “if we won’t enjoy it we will abandon the idea immediately.”

Aku said nothing, just smiled and raised her thumbs up.

“It’s starting to get boring” Yui looked at the floor “how about we will go play with the boys?”

“Alright, let’s do it” Aku nodded in agreement.

The two went down the ladder and went to the living room.

“Mind if we join your game?” Aku asked and smiled.

“We are just done with the game, we are going to play something else now, we didn’t choose what yet” said Minato.

“Let’s play Janga” suggested Eda.

“Good! I’m great at Janga” Aku said happily.

“You might be good but can’t beat Eda” Kimori laughed a little.

“Challenge accepted” Aku said with a competitive expression.

“So we will sit and watch your Janga tournament?” Yui asked rhetorically “sounds good to me.”

“Let’s do it” Eda accepted the challenge too.

Kimori took out the wooden blocks tower out of the pack and said loudly “let the fight begin!!!”

Eda was the first one to play, he took easily one block from the bacis, he knew the more he would take out of the lower stories the less stable the tower would stay.

“Starting from the bottom?” Aku laughed “trying to make the tower unstable will make it harder for you too, you know.”

She took a block from one of the top stories of the tower and put it near the block Eda put on the top a few seconds ago.

“I don’t mind taking a challenge” he took the middle block from the story one above the basis “actually, my hands are so stable I can’t even call it a challenge” he completed the top story.

“Your hands might be stable” she took the middle block from the middle story “but I’m the perfect being, I can’t lose” she started a new story on top.

“You might be pretty and talented but it doesn’t mean you can’t lose” he took the left one from the base floor, now the tower stood only on the middle block of the base.

“Risky move” Aku whistled, she took a safe block from one of the upper stories.

Eda and Aku kept playing for a long time keeping their strategies from the start, Yui, Minato and Kimori looked at them quietly. The two had impossible balance in their hands, it was a truly intensive match. The tower lost more and more blocks, Aku felt it was getting really interesting while Eda felt like it was getting boring overtime.

“I thought you would lose until now” Eda looked at the tower, threatening to fall. “Because it’s starting to get boring I will use the thing I wanted to do from the start.”

“Surprise me” Aku said full of confidence, Janga is too simple for something too surprising to happen, at least this is what she thought.

Eda reached his hand to the single block that makes up the base.

“You are not going to do that right?” Minato thought it would not be possible.

“Aku! you are going to win now, there is no way he can take the whole base without the tower falling!” Yui encouraged Aku.

“Takashima is right” Aku got even more confident then before “there is no way you can do it.”

Eda tightened two of his fingers on the block.

“Eda, it’s a fight of honor” Kimori started to sweat, he took the little match way too seriously “don’t do it! you will lose your honor to Aku!”

Aku smiled evilly, if Eda will do it she will win the little challenge.

“Here I go” Eda looked like he had a lot of experience with this move.

He pulled the block in a quick and sharp move. The whole tower kept his shape, it fell so slowly it felt like forever. In the end it landed on the floor cleanly.

Everyone looked at Eda in shock.

“I did my move, it’s your turn now” Eda said like he didn’t do something almost inhuman right now.

“Ye… yes” Aku sent her hand to a block that was supposed to be easy to pull, her confidence decreased so much her hands started to shake, she failed, the tower fell the same way as Aku’s confidence.

“It was fun” Eda smiled “want to do it again sometime?”

“And the winner is!!!” Kimori yelled in excitement “Eda!!!”

Eda scratched his head and closed his eyes “I don’t like the title “winner” above my head, maybe we will play the memory game now?”

“If we are playing in games with the things we are good at maybe we will play tag too?” Minato suggested, he was not very smart or stable with his hands but he did run faster than the others.

“I’m glad Nakata is not here now…” Kimori sighed in relief “I can’t understand what every button in his games does.”

“What about you Takashima?” Aku healed very fast from her loss “what are you good at?”

“I assume I’m not good at anything in particular” Yui looked down.

“You are better than us at a lot of stuff” Eda didn’t say that kind of things usually “you are much more charismatic than us, you can pretend you are someone else as easy as you breathe.”

“He is right” Kimori joined Eda’s talk “I can have all the brain capacity in the world, not a single piece of information can teach me to solve problems the way you do.”

“I’m jealous of you too” Minato joined the other two “you are so brave, and you don’t give up so easily. You choose to go to a better place just because you couldn’t accept the death of your friend, it’s amazing!”

“All of this is fine” Yui felt uncomfortable talking about his qualities “but I can’t play games with them.”

“Of course you can, you can use them for the most important game of all” Aku said, her eyes shined brightly “the game of life”.
