Chapter 7:

Personification of Death

Midnight

As you should already know, every bonus chapter is told by your favorite death goddess. That’s me, Kali, of course. I feel like everyone has been missing me. The most recent chapters have been focusing on Kyle and Thanatos, and less on poor little me. So, let’s see here. What story should I tell? Oh! I have an interesting idea. Let’s retell the last chapter, only this time it’ll be from my point of view. Well most of it was relatively boring, and there was a lack of lewd thoughts from Thanatos, so I’ll skip to the most important part.

“How are you talking? Time is paused right now. How do you know Thanatos?” I hear Kyle say as I teleport next to him. I look at the man he’s talking to and.. Holy shit. It’s Zeus, the king of the gods, in all his glory. Most minor gods would never have the honor to be this close to Zeus himself. But, if Zeus is on Earth then it must be no good. Especially acting as an Emperor! He just wants the world to be destroyed so he can do what he wants with the Universe. He’s not going to kill any human directly, so he’s just ‘encouraging’ them to end the world. To explain a little further, there’s five universes in total. Each universe has a single major god. There’s six major gods in total. The major gods in order of their universe, starting from one, is: Hera, Demeter, Posiedon, Zeus, and Hestia. Hades is also a major god, but he controls the afterlife for humans, which isn’t another universe yet is independent from the five universes. Each universe has Earth and humans to live on it. However, not every universe is the same. For example, the third universe has humans that live in water, not on land. Probably has something to do with its major god being Posiedon.

“I even get an audience with your beloved wife? I’m quite the lucky man. But, I don’t want to hurt you Thanatos. Or should I call you Kyle? Anyway, I’ll let you resume time.” Zeus says as he stops from moving any closer to Kyle. ‘Beloved wife’, this man makes me sick. He has a wife, yet he has managed to cheat on her with almost every other goddess. He’s even cheated with humans. I’ve never let him lay a single finger on me. I would tell him how much of a scumbag he is, but he is far too powerful. So, if a fight were to break out between me and him, he would definitely win. Even Thanatos, being far stronger than me, wouldn’t stand a chance against Zeus.

Some more useless dialogue continues, I don’t need to repeat it. Basically, Zeus lets us go because he is curious to see how we will save the world and eventually beat him. Anyway, once we get outside, the unthinkable happens. Peitho, the disgusting goddess of lust, appears with her weapon drawn on me. Peitho’s weapon is a sword of white light. What a beautiful weapon for a disgusting creature.

“I thought you would actually listen to me, Kyle. But, I must use your own sister against you. It’s quite sad how much lust she keeps locked in her soul normally.” Peitho says as she stares at Kyle.

“I won’t let you stop us!” I blurt out before drawing my scythe out from the void. My scythe consists of a curved blade that glows a brilliant purple. I quickly fly over to where Peitho is at and our blades clash together. I need to protect Kyle at all costs. If Peitho is able to kill him, before he lets Thanatos free, then the entire plan is ruined. My marriage is also ruined, but I think my sexual desires aren’t that important right now.

Peitho charges me with her sword and I block with my scythe’s handle. I hit back, but she dodged out of the way. I try to strike her once more, but this time she teleports behind me and kicks me through a building. We take turns for a while, attacking and blocking, until she gets the upper hand. She hits my scythe away from me and slams me into the ground. With my remaining strength, I keep Peitho from killing me with her sword. I always remember how many times Thanatos would save me from trouble. I’ve never been very strong for god standards, so I’ve had to rely on him a lot. As soon as I start hoping for Thanatos to save me, Peitho is gone from on top of me. I look to see Kyle, but there’s quite a few things different with him. First, his eyes turn from a dark brown to a bright red. He’s also covered in a red and black fog that almost covers up his wounds. Speaking of his wounds, his right arm is completely missing and he has a few stab wounds on his chest. His black hair turned white with red highlights going through it. But, the most important change, and I can’t believe he didn’t notice it at the time, was his black wings that protrude from his back.

“Thanatos! I knew you would save me. But, what the hell happened to you?” I say. The last piece of evidence to show that the man in front of me was Thanatos, and not Kyle anymore, was the lack of concern for his wounds. Thanatos is known for getting himself hurt, and I’ve always been the one to fix him up.

“Some crazy bitch wanted me dead.” He says as he laughs. I know he’s talking about his sister, and for a moment I think about how insensitive he is. He still is Kyle. He just has the powers and memories of Thanatos. “ What do we do about Peitho?”

“We leave her. You can teleport and fly now, so getting to Baltimore is much easier. We still can’t do anything about Zeus for right now.” I say, but I can tell Thanatos isn’t going to listen to me.

“I’m going to kill Peitho.” Thanatos says as his red eyes glare at the horizon, waiting for Peitho to come back and challenge him.

“Don’t do that. If you kill her then the other gods will start to question if you are still chained up.” I say. When a minor god or goddess dies, the major gods investigate it. Since Zeus is in Washington D.C. with us, that means he probably is watching us right now. So, killing Peitho will get Thanatos in all kinds of trouble. Let’s just hope he can get out of it this time. Or maybe, they will send him to the next universe. Better yet, they will chain him up with his brother in the underworld.

“But, if I kill her I can take her power. I would be one step closer to ruling all the universes.” Thanatos foolishly exclaims. Peitho appears in front of us. Since I already know the outcome of this fight, I really don’t need to see what goes on.

Before I get too far away from Thanatos and Peitho, a shockwave throws me off balance. I look behind me to see a large crater in the ground, and I'll assume that it was Thanatos that made the crater. I’ll wait for him outside the city. Hopefully he doesn’t cause too much of a mess.
