EXTRA: The Truth of the Ghost Café

“Heyyy, it’s Yuka.”
That day, Yuka was streaming as usual.
But somehow, she didn’t seem like her usual self.
As if to prove it, she let out a long sigh.

Her viewers noticed, too, leaving comments like,
“What’s wrong?” and “You don’t seem very lively today.”

“The ghost café I produced is closing down this weekend.
Apparently, there were too many complaints.”
Her tone was blatantly careless.

“It was a place that finally took shape thanks to a lot of people helping me out…
and I really gave it everything I had, in my own way.
I’d even take customers by the hand and lead them to their seats and all that…
haah… this hurts…”

There had been some surprised reactions to her unique way of serving customers,
but Yuka went on without a care.

“It was supposed to be a two-month limited event, but… I never thought it’d be shut down after just a week…”

As Yuka scrolled through the comments with a sigh,
she noticed several asking, “What kind of complaints?”
Seeing those, something seemed to ignite in her—
and she suddenly burst into a rapid stream of words.

“The complaints, right? The biggest one was apparently,

‘There are real ghosts.’

Like—come on, that makes no sense!
Cat cafés have cats, don’t they?
Then a ghost café’s gotta have ghosts!
What, did they want me to just dress up all spooky and go,
‘Urameshiya~’ or something?
That’d be the real scam!”

The comment section was full of confusion, with messages like,
“That’s not a scam,” “It’s just a concept, obviously,” and “No one actually thought they were real.”
But Yuka didn’t stop.

“And then apparently, there were people saying they were ‘too scared to even walk nearby.’
But, like, all I did was invite the local ghosts who were already around, you know?
They must’ve met them somewhere before, right?”

After letting out that whole torrent of words, she finally exhaled a little and seemed to calm down at last.

“But, you know… there was also this one ghost-san who said, ‘I met someone wonderful.’
…Stuff like that—it’s nice, isn’t it?”

For just a moment, she gave a shy little smile, and the mood of the stream gently softened.

“She says it’s still one-sided, but I hope her love goes well!
Everyone, make sure to cheer her on in secret, okay?”

The comment section exploded with reactions like,
“Seriously?” “Wait—love…?” and “Isn’t he gonna get possessed or something?”
—but Yuka didn’t seem to mind at all.

Then, among the comments, one question slid by: “What does she look like?”
Other viewers quickly joined in, and similar questions started pouring in one after another.

“What she looks like? Hmm… she was kind of hazy, so I couldn’t really tell—”
She paused for a beat, then grinned.

“But I’m pretty sure she’s cute. Definitely!”

There wasn’t any real basis for it,
but Yuka said it with confidence—her voice firm and proud.

After a short silence, her voice gently lifted again.

“So yeah—Part Two! You’d better look forward to it!”

Turning a peace sign toward the camera, Yuka smiled.
Though she had started off without much energy, the usual Yuka was there once again.

Inside her, the ambition for the second installment was already burning bright.
