Calm before the storm

Sanctus academy, founded by Merlim the cleric of the first hero party and Masamune the craftsman of the group, it was founded after the war against the dark mage, it's goal was to prepare young warriors to protect the world in case the Myths invaded again, Merlim created the magic wing with the intention to teach students who have a big mana reserve how to convert their mana into the phenomenon know as Magic, meanwhile, Masamune created the science wing with the intent to teach those with low mana reserves how to compesate by using enchantments in technology to create Magic, the academy teaches it's students all the basic subjects you'd expect from a school, the only difference is the magic classes and the classes on how to use enchatments on technology, every year twenty five percent of the students who graduate joins the guild after the finals then they're granted the right to do the guild exam, the guild exam usually is held at the day after the finals, once approved the graduate will join the guild and can be selected to join the gate expeditions, the objective of said expeditions is to find the source of all gates and close it once and for all.

Izaya: man, i'm bored, pretty sure if i sell all of my boredom i could make a living out of  it.

Said Izaya as he was lying down looking at the sky, close to the academy there was a small river whose bed was used by all the citizens for several different purposes such as: running, training magic, praticing for plays, having duels, enjoying the view, even taking naps etc. Izaya had just finished his finals at school and had decided to take a nap at the riverbed while waiting for his friends, as soon as he was dozing off he heard a familiar voice screaming :

Kuroe: WHA-WHA-WHAT HAPPENED HEEEEEEEERE!?!?!?!?!?!

Kuroe's voice was riddled with surprise, fear and concern, as the colors drained from her face as she saw the riverbed and  the horrifying scene before her, Izaya was lying down at the top of a giant Wyvern's corpse and the once beautiful riverbed was riddled with holes on both sides of the river.

Kuroe was the kind of girl that always followed the rules, she never lied, always respected her elders and was always dilligent with all the work she did be it studying or cleaning, she never caused trouble or disobeyed rules, so one could only imagine her horror upon seeing all of this.

Izaya: hey, took you long enough, i was sooo bored waiting for you.

Izaya on the other hand was known as "the humanoid catastrophe" when he entered highschool, he picked a fight with every thug in there and left them so battered to the point of no one being able to recognize them, because of that he was recognized as one not to be messed with, although he attends school normaly he's always sleeping in class and yet somehow he is at the top academically speaking, he describes himself as such: violent, rude, short-tempered and only there for the thrill, so read all the rules of use and the security guidelines when interacting with him.

Kuro: THIS IS NOT IMPORTANT RIGHT NOW, WHAT HAPPENED HERE? WHY IS THERE SO MANY HOLES ON THE GROUND? AND WHY WERE YOU NAPPING AT. THE. TOP. OF. A. GIANT WYVERN'S. CORPSE!?

Izaya: oh those? I was on my way to the riverbed to wait for you guys when i saw a bunch of thugs ganging up on a guy, so i thought it would be funny to throw some stones at them.

Kuroe: YOU THREW STONES AT THEM??? YOU ALWAYS THROW THEM WITH THE STRENGTH OF A TANK SHELL!!!

Izaya: only when i hold back.

Kuroe: OK, FINE AND THE WYVERN?

Izaya: oh, this thing? Right after that a containment zone appeared out of nowhere and this thing was there, then it decided to attack me, so i bought the fight it was selling.

Kuroe: wait, another one? Wasn't just yesterday that you fought a vampire in one of those?

Izaya: yep, even i thought it was weird.

Izaya starts to yawn, get up and jump down from the corpse, as he walks toward Kuroe he starts speaking to her:

Izaya: welp, anyways, let's go eat something i'm starving.

Kuroe: what? weren't we supossed to wait for the others?

Izaya: why's that? we see them everyday, let's go on a date just you and me.

Kuroe (blushing): WHAT? WHY?

Izaya: what do you mean why? i'm just keeping my promise.

Kuroe: you were serious back then? But you don't need to do that anymore we're already together.

Izaya: so what? it's just like i said two years ago...

As he said that Izaya got closer to Kuroe and whispered on her ear. 

Izaya (whispering): i'll make you unable to live without me.

As he said that to Kuroe the boy started to walk away as the girl stood there with her face beet red and her body frozen in place, but, Izaya as to snap her out of it started to call her from afar and said:

Izaya: LET'S GET GOING, HURRY, BY THE LOOKS OF IT IT'S GONNA RAIN PRETTY SOON.

Kuroe: WHA-? WHAIT FOR MEEEEEEEE!!

As she ran after the boy the girl suddenly started to ponder to herself about what Izaya just said:

Kuroe (thinking): wait, rain? What he's talking about? It's been sunny all day today.

As the girl scrambles to reach the boy, the boy asks her:

Izaya: so, how about we go to that burger shop in Shibuya?

Kuroe: again? We go there everytime.

Izaya: what can i say? It's my favorite.

Kuroe: really now?

Kuroe starts to giggle, making Izaya curious as to why:

Izaya: what? What's so funny?

Kuroe: i was just thinking that you're really thoughtful sometimes.

Izaya: what makes you say that?

Kuroe: i mean, you suggested that place to make it easier for the others to find us, right?

Izaya: was it that obvious?

Kuroe: mm-hmm, i mean, to me at least it was.

As she said that Kuroe link her arm with Izaya's and the two start to look around the shops and stores in Shibuya, window shopping, eating ice cream and sightseeing a bit, until they reached the burger shop Izaya mentioned, as they sat down and ordered their food Kuroe's start to ask Izaya:

Kuroe: oh, by the way, what did you meant by that?

Izaya: by what?

Kuroe: by it looks like it might rain today, it's been sunny the whole morning.

Izaya: oh that, i was just saying that the sky looked kinda funny to me.

Kuroe could tell that Izaya was hiding somenthing, she just couldn't put her finger on what, but, before she could ask what it was, their orders have arrived.

Attendant: here's your order.

Izaya: thanks.

Upon seeing her boyfriend eating so calmly she decided not pry this time, maybe it was not important or else he would've talked to her about it, a few moments later their freinds arrived at the restaurant and sat at the same table as them and the neighboring table:

Kaho: hi~ Kuro-chan, Iza-kun.

Hiro: hey

Juan: hola amigos.

Noa: hi guys.

You: hi.

Asuka: good afternoon to the both of you.

Togheter with Hiro, Kaho, Juan and Noa, were two of Izaya's and Kuroe's closest friends, a black haired boy named Asuka Fudou and a girl with shoulder length brown hair named You Kusakabe, Asuka is the son of the pretigious Fudou family, they're the founders of Fudou tecnhology Inc. His family is the developer of many of the magical tools that many mages use nowadays, Asuka is a noble and humble boy who doesn't let his status dictates who he is, You is the daughter of the main scientist that works in the R&D department of Fudou tech. She is a quiet girl, who likes to eat, but, is extremely smart, she's only second to Izaya academically speaking, needles to say that because of their parents jobs Asuka and You met each other and not long after that started dating.

Hiro: so, you chose this place so we could find you easily.

Izaya: Wow, was it that obvious?

Hiro: kinda, i mean, i know you it's been a few years now.

Izaya: hearing you say that is not pleasant to me.

Hiro: wow, really?

Izaya starts laughing after this little exchange and sooner everybody of the group starts laughing as well, even Hiro starts smiling.

Kaho: oh yeah, that reminds me, have you guys seen Ben-kun lately?

Izaya: huh, now that you mentioned, no, not really.

Hiro: why the sudden mention?

Kaho: oh, it's just, it's been what? Four years since we last saw him.

Kuroe: that's unsurprising, i mean, he and his family are living in Brazil now.

Noa: yeah, but, Akira still keeps in touch from time to time.

You: hm, i wonder why only ototo-kun that talks to us? I miss Ben-nii, he was nice to me.

Asuka: eh, i wouldn't worry about him.

Juan: yeah, after all we all know he's the strongest.

Izaya and Hiro (mumbling): arguably.

 Upon hearing the two boys mumble everyone else starts laughing, a few hours later the skies were all clear and the sun was about to set on the horizon, after a fun day the group was saying their goodbyes as they split up to go home, all that was left were the two boys, the tenth hero Hiro Densetsu and Izaya Sakamaki.

Izaya (stretching out): man, today was kinda fun, don't you think Hiro?

Hiro: to me it was the same as always.

Izaya: is this your way to agree with me but disagreeing at the same time?

Hiro: what do you mean?

Izaya: "the same as always" as you say, is the same as saying, "another fun day", at least that's what sounds like to me.

Hiro: does it really matter?

Izaya: oh my my, is the tenth hero embaressed by any chance?

Hiro: am not, you're just being a pain right now.

Izaya: HA! c'mon don't be like that, i'm just teasing you a bit.

Hiro (annoyed): whatever.

Izaya: welp, anyway i'm glad everyone already went home.

As he said that rain suddenly starts to pour down on them.

Izaya: like i said before-

Izaya and Hiro turn around to find them surrounded by thousands of minotaurs filling up the streets of  shibuya, in the midst of them stood a giant bull who started to roar, as it roared the rain turned into a storm with thunder roaring through the sky.

Izaya: it was about to start raining soon.

Hiro: hmph, since when you started making wheater forecasts?

As they said that the two boys grined to each other and assumed their battle stances, readying themselves for the fight that was about to come.
