Chapter 6:

Dr. Twink and Himesan

Misfits of the Magic World

Shuna twitched as she laid on a bed in the infirmary. Standing besides her was Yurika and an effeminate man with long blue hair tied up in a thin ponytail.

"My, all bones broken plus a nasty stab to the tummy. And you said this was merely training?" the blue-haired man asked.

"She said "hit me" and so I hit her. I held back, but clearly her ass was weak if she couldn't handle being slammed into the wall and stabbed with glass," Yurika grumbled.

"This woman has a horrible habit of overvaluing her abilities. Hah, on the bright side, her breaking all her bones will allow me to reforge them all in a go. Nurse!"

Two nurses marched into the room and held out their hands over Shuna.

"Now, Shuna, this WILL hurt."

As the blue-haired man extended his hand, Shuna's body began to lurch to and fro. Though clearly unconscious, that didn't stop her from screaming loudly in pain. The whole sight looked more like an exorcism than healing, but if one were to learn the nitty gritty of the healing magic, an exorcism would ironically be deemed less painful.

"So you're forcefully reforming her bones?" Yurika asked.

"Correct. Healing magic is rooted in life magic, which as you know is rooted from the core element of water. It might sound absurd to think I'm able to create solid bone from water, but we all forget water is essential to life. That doesn't mean life magic is easy to cast. Body restoration is all I've mastered, and even then, that's far from what life magic is truly capable of."

This was Dr. Levia Tonn, more commonly referred to as Dr. Twink for his looks. He was a doctor highly skilled in both pharmaceutics and water magic, as well as a graduate of TIUMP. Anything short of death he could usually cure, yet that didn't mean everything would be painless.

Levia finally let out a sigh and lowered his hand as Shuna's body began to relax. "She's healed, but there's no way I'm letting her walk around freely for at least a week. I'm afraid this means your coven will need another instructor managing it for the time being."

"Not an issue. Oh, but we did make a bet and since she lost, her head needs to get shaved," Yurika grumbled.

"Then you'll have to wait a week. I'm not just going to shave her head when there's clearly no medical need to do so."

"You don't want her to wakeup bald to be chewed out by you?"

Levia shot Yurika a glare. "No, my job is to heal not harm. That being said, I will raise a hand against those who seek to do harm. Also, I despise those that would suggest I betray my patients' trust to satisfy their unsavory desires. Now please leave."

Yurika shrugged and headed out.

...

The following day, the members of Misfit coven gathered in a large classroom. Substituting for Shuna was a woman with dyed blonde hair clad in a black tracksuit and white sneakers.

"Huh? Why is the teacher of this supposed esteemed institution teaching to us in gym attire?" Yabei scoffed.

The woman slammed her foot down atop the podium. "Uh? You dissin' my duds, cunt? This shit's been perm pressed n' shined. Guess you sluts are too poor to recognize quality."

Despite her rough manner of speaking, this woman was an elite noble known as Himehana HimeHime, or more commonly by her nickname, Himesan.

"I'm here subbin' fucks thanks to that weak bitch getting fucked. I should have you fucks become fodder for my cove."

"Hoh? And what is your coven?" Yurika smirked.

"Onyx," a familiar voice snarled.

Turning to the doorway, Yurika was met with a crowd of students led by none other than Ema. "Ah, you didn't get into that esteemed snob house."

"SHUT IT! Most of us in Onyx are elite, but this school insists on demeaning us. I mean, they had the gall to put the esteemed Beiko heir in your filthy coven."

Yabei began to sweat madly.

"So are you implying we'll be clashing as part of our study?" Yurika smirked as she cracked her knuckles.

"Why not? Coven fights are part of the curriculum, so why not fulfill Onyx's by having them slaughter you for so?" Himesan snarled.

"Challenge accepted. So when we fighting? Now?"

Some of the Onyx students took stances, but were shut down by Himesan. "No. There's logistics and regulations. Tomorrow night, neon district. Be there or forfeit."

And thus, the match between Misfit and Onyx was set.

"Oh, and since I'm required to supervise you until that bitch is healed, you're required to convey your strategy in my presence."

A bald browless girl wearing a gas mask angrily slammed her hands on the desk. "Bullshit! You're gonna tell them our strategy!"

"Yeah, and that's your problem, not mine. Blame your bald bff for all this."

The girl slowly turned to Yurika, pure hatred in her eyes. "She is NOT my friend!"

"Oh? I thought since you were both bald-"

Tears began to ooze down the girls face. "I NEVER WANTED TO BE BALD!" she cried as she began to run out.

The Onyx students surprisingly parted way for her, but the insidious reason why quickly came to light.

"That's her, right? The biohazard."

"I heard her hair was so radioactive a full hazmat team had to wax her an hour straight."

"Why don't they keep her in a full suit? The radiation could leak from her skin pores."

"Nah, I heard it's just from her mouth where it leaks uncontrollably. But with how long her hair was, it would always brush against her mouth, and that's how it got contaminated!"

"And that's why she's my girl," a voice spoke up.

The crowd turned to notice Doku, arms crossed and brooding as usual.

"Bald isn't my thing, but I make an exception for Calli. I'd love to see her with mad toxic hair again, but society can't handle the poison like me."

One of the students angrily stared down Doku. "Are you insane? She's a walking health hazard! It sickens me that this school houses her instead of allowing authorities to rightfully put her down. We can't be having our noble health endangered because of that filth!"

"She's just unable to control it. But when she can, she'll be a woman who can stand at my side."

And with the flip of his cloak, Doku turned and walked away. The other students cleared out as well, leaving just Himesan and the members of Misfit coven in the room.

"So, strategy time, or are you gonna forfeit?" Himesan snarled as she floated on her back and propped her feet on the podium.

Yurika scowled and covered her mouth with her hand. This one would be a tricky choice.
