Weenie Wee are rotund little friends. They have a central sausage core that bears their little piggy face and tail, and are wrapped in a circular, golden brown puff pastry body. Their legs are nubby little parts of the puff pastry.
Weenie Wee are typically found in groups and relish in one another’s company. They are a very social and friendly Gourmon. This social nature lends them very well to playing a cooperative role in battle, and they are naturally best suited for pack tactics.
Weenie Wee is a creature that had some difficulty being designed for such a simple item. Once I got to drawing the thing, the shapes became obvious and the design practically made itself.
The name comes, from the “weenie” name for a variety of sausages, it being small, or “wee”, and the old children’s game of “little piggies”, with the last piggy going “wee wee wee all the way home!”
The dish Pigs-in-a-Blanket itself comes from the United States, but hors d’oeuvres as a concept are much older than that. As the name of the dish suggests, a miniature pork sausage is wrapped in puff pastry and optionally garnished with salt or cheese.
Further research is needed for a recipe. This may be used to explore puff pastry from scratch.
