morning after Lira’s message, MC stood in front of the mirror for a full ten minutes, holding two shirts like he was choosing his fate in life.
White shirt?Black shirt?Oversized hoodie for emotional support?
He sighed. “Why is this harder than my college entrance exam…”
Crow sat on the bed, legs crossed, eating chips at 8 AM.
“Broooo, picko the white-o shirt-o,” Crow said, mouth full. “Black-o shirt-o make you look like depressed salaryman-o. Lira-chan think you tax return spirit-o.”
MC stared. “Why are you adding ‘-o’ to every word?”
“Authentico Japanesu accent-o.”He winked proudly. “I am bilingual-o.”
“You’re stupid-o.”
Crow gasped dramatically. “HOW DARE-O.”
Eventually, MC chose the white shirt, black jeans, and a jacket that made him look slightly less like a broke college student.
Crow gave a thumbs up.“Yesss, boyo. Today… you rizzzzz.”
MC rolled his eyes, but inside his heart was racing.
When they stepped outside, MC turned to lock the door.
Crow vanished.
Completely.
MC looked left, then right.“…Crow?”
From the distance came a faint rustling.Followed by:
“HEHEHE SECURE THE BAG-O!”
Crow ran full speed out of the nearby convenience store, pockets suspiciously bulky, manager yelling in the background.
MC almost died.
“Crow?! What did you DO?!”
Crow slapped two blue packets into MC’s hand.
“Protection-o bro. You go Lira home-o. She sad-o. Very emotionalooo. Something happen maybe.” He leaned in, whispering, “Anti-baby magic-o.”
MC’s soul left his body.
“PUT IT BACK!”
“No refund-o.”
MC walked toward Lira’s house feeling like his brain was melting.Heart pounding.Hands sweaty.Crow skipping behind him like some cursed fairy godmother.
They reached her apartment.MC took a deep breath and knocked.
The door opened
And Lira immediately wrapped her arms around him.
Warm. Soft. Familiar.
“I’m really glad you came…” she whispered.
Crow, watching through the window, nodded like a father in a drama.
“Hmmm hmmm… boyo… RIZZ LEVEL: MAXIMUM-O.”
MC tried not to die.
Lira’s room smelled faintly of lavender.Candles lit, curtains drawn halfway cozy and warm.
She sat next to him on the sofa.Too close.Knee-touching close.
They talked about her cat, about childhood memories, about random nonsense. MC didn’t even know what he was saying; he was too busy trying not to combust.
Lira suddenly looked up at him.
“Hey… can I… just stay close to you for a bit?”
He nodded shyly.
She leaned in.
Her lips touched his.
Soft. Slow. Gentle.
MC forgot how to breathe.
Outside the window Crow’s eyes sparkled with pride.
“LET’S GOOOOO BOYO RIZZSUMI NO JUTSUUU.”
After a few minutes, Lira pulled away slightly, cheeks flushed.
“I… I don’t want to be alone tonight… can you stay?”
MC nodded again, brain buffering.
She took his hand and gently pulled him toward the bed.
MC nearly tripped over his own feet.
Crow saw this from the window, then grinned like a demon.
“Ara araaaa… timing-o perfect-o.”
He pulled out the stolen items from his pocket raised his handand YEETED the condom packet through the window.
It smacked MC directly in the forehead.
Lira blinked.
MC turned red like a tomato.
Crow outside:
“YOU’RE WELCOME-O!”
MC scrambled to shove the packet under a pillow, Lira giggled softly, and Crow did a victory dance outside the window like a Final Fantasy boss.
Chapter ends with MC dying inside, Lira smiling, and Crow posing like a hero.
