A few weeks had passed since that date the awkward disaster that Crow still brought up every other day like it was his favorite TV show.
Life had settled into a strange rhythm. Mornings started with Crow stealing MC’s breakfast, afternoons were filled with him scrolling online shopping sites like a housewife, and nights usually ended with the two of them arguing over whose turn it was to clean the mirror.
Sometimes, when MC walked by, Crow’s reflection in the mirror would whisper random nonsense like,“Oi oi, handsome guy appear again~,”or“Why you so serious, MC? You need love o therapy-o!”
MC had long given up trying to understand him.
Still, things felt… lighter. Between the chaos, the teasing, and Crow’s broken Japanese-English combo, there were moments where MC forgot how empty his life used to feel.
One night, Crow was sprawled upside down on the couch, munching on chocolate like a kid.“Oi, MC,” he said through a mouthful, “You think mirror worldo more peaceful than this one?”
MC glanced up from his phone. “If it means fewer idiots like you, maybe.”
Crow laughed, rolling over dramatically. “Focko thiso Americano guy! So rude to the one who savedeo his boring life!”
MC sighed, but there was a small smile hiding on his lips. “Yeah, yeah. Just don’t eat all the chocolate again.”
The apartment was warm, filled with lazy peace until MC’s phone buzzed.
He glanced at the screen.Liria: Hey… sorry to message out of nowhere. My cat, Momo, passed away today. I… don’t really wanna be alone. Can we talk?
MC stared at the message for a long moment, the noise around him fading. It had been months since he last spoke to Liria his childhood friend, the girl who always smiled even when things went wrong.
Crow peeked over his shoulder. “Oh-ho~ Who dis pretty name-o? Liria-san? Old love o, maybe?”
MC pushed him back with a glare. “None of your business.”
But as he typed out his reply, he couldn’t help the small tug in his chest a mix of worry, guilt, and something else he didn’t quite understand.
MC: Yeah. I’ll come by tomorrow.
He set the phone down. Outside, the city lights reflected faintly in the mirror. Crow’s reflection grinned mischievously.“Looks likeo new arc begin o, huh?”
MC didn’t answer. He just sat there, lost in thought unaware that the mirror behind him shimmered for a moment, as if something deep within it had awakened.
