Day 11: Heart Flowers

The recess bell rang.

Sally left the classroom. As she walked through the hallways, she looked at her hands, hoping to manifest her energy without using astral projection.

As she went up the stairs, she ran into her bullies.

They blocked her way.

“—You know,” one of them said. “If you don’t want us to beat you up today…”

Sally paid them without protesting. Then she kept walking, eyes down.

She reached the rooftop and lay on the ground. She closed her eyes. She tried to use her energy without projecting, but nothing.

She finally resorted to astral projection.

She took a deep breath. This time she wanted to try something different.

Instead of emptying her mind, she visualized herself in a field of flowers.

Her body began to release energy.

Luminous traces appeared again over her skin.

The energy transformed into flowers.

The rooftop filled with them, glowing softly.

Meanwhile, Kam looked for Sally all over the school so they could eat together.

When she gave up, she decided to go to the rooftop to eat alone.

When she opened the door, she froze.

The rooftop was covered in purple flowers, all glowing.

And in the middle of them, Sally, lying down as if she were floating in another world.

Kam walked closer. Sally opened her eyes when she felt her steps.

“So… they weren’t special effects,” Kam murmured.

Sally avoided going into details. She only explained that, when she managed to relax, she could use that energy.

She didn’t want to involve Kam more than necessary, in case Kam could also manifest it and that put them in danger.

As they ate, the flowers began to fade.

This time the energy had lasted a little longer.

Kam took out her phone and wrote in their private chat:

Kam:
“Dad said that, because of your situation, we have to go to the child protection office.”
“They would evaluate your case and could assign you a temporary guardian.”
“My parents also talked… and they’re considering being your temporary guardians.”

Sally closed her eyes for a moment.

She extended her hands.

The energy took form between her fingers.

She created a small plushie and handed it to Kam.

It was her way of thanking her.
