Spotlight #15: Nándor

Nándor Nyisztor, age 669. Born in Estergom, Hungary, and descended from Attila the Hun, he has always been an eccentric man. Having a fascination with dark magic and wizardry, he traveled all over Europe seeking to learn magic. Upon finally learning magic, he holed himself back up in Estergom's Dark Gate for hundreds of years until finally emerging and deciding to take over the world. 

However, his desire deflated when many around him didn't take his wizardry seriously and thought he was just a crazy homeless guy. He then heard of the DESPERs and joined the Desperado league, hoping the device would grant him greater magical powers. Though Nándor had essentially been a hikikomori for nearly 600 years, the little magic he knew allowed him to spy on the outside world. This allowed him to witness some of the most famous games from the 1400s on. Reaching grandmaster status was effortless for him, as well as gaining great magical power via winning DESPER matches. 

His winning streak continued thanks to the Hungarian Chess Federation's head fearing him to the point where he offered a DSPCM spot to him as a form of tribute. Nándor accepted, and thus, there is now a secret puzzle cafe in Estergom. Of the DSPCMs, he has the lowest loss rate, with some even questioning if he could be maestro-level. Funnily enough, he did participate in the maestro project, but had his run there ended early on by the infamous Mr. Secret.
