The Trial That Determines Who You Become—
Ivan drifted upward through collapsing light, his body trembling from the Sixth Veil’s impossible chaos. The golden thread around his wrist glowed brighter than ever—almost painfully.
Then everything stopped.
Silence.
Stillness.
Weightlessness.
A final whisper echoed, deeper and older than all that came before:
“THE SEVENTH VEIL…THE GATE OF ASCENSION.”
Ivan opened his eyes—
—and gasped.
---
THE INFINITE HALL
He stood in an endless chamber made of glass and stars. The floor reflected everything like a perfect mirror.Above him, galaxies spiraled slowly, made of shimmering light.
At the center stood a single doorway.
Massive.Ancient.Carved from pure white stone.Glowing with a warmth that felt like both life… and the end of life.
A gate unlike any human world could comprehend.
Written across it in golden lines:
“ONLY THE SELF-TRUE MAY PASS.”
Ivan stepped forward—
—but the air thickened instantly, pressing against him like the world itself trying to stop him.
His lungs burned. His legs shook. He forced a single step—then another.
Each step felt heavier than mountains.
“Is this… pressure?” Ivan muttered, gritting his teeth.
A voice answered:
“NO.THIS IS YOUR LIMIT.”
Ivan’s eyes narrowed.
He took another step.
The pressure intensified—bones cracking—veins glowing—muscles tearing from inside.
Every inch closer to the gate pushed his body into new realms of pain.
The Trial spoke again, its voice vibrating with divine force:
“THE ASCENSION GATE ACCEPTS ONLY ONE THING…TRUTH.”
Ivan winced as his knees buckled.
“Truth…?”
“YOUR TRUTH.THE TRUTH OF WHO YOU ARE.NOT WHO YOU WERE.NOT WHO YOU WISH TO BE.BUT WHO YOU HAVE BECOME.”
Ivan clenched his fists.
“I know who I am.”
The chamber dimmed.
The voice echoed mockingly:
“DO YOU?”
---
THE FIRST TEST: FALSE YOU
A reflection appeared in front of Ivan.
Himself.
But younger.
Weak.
Fearful.
The Ivan who doubted himself. The Ivan who thought he wasn’t enough. The Ivan who believed Elen deserved someone stronger.
The reflection spoke:
“You should’ve never taken this path…You’re just a normal man.Why pretend to be more?”
Ivan stepped forward slowly.
He met his own eyes.
And whispered:
“I’m not pretending.I’m fighting.”
He grabbed the reflection’s head—
—and crushed it like glass.
It shattered silently.
---
THE SECOND TEST: FALSE ELEN
Another reflection formed.
Elen.
But not his real Elen.
Cold.Emotionless.Unloving.
“No matter how hard you try…she will leave you.She will forget you.She will find someone stronger.”
Ivan froze.
A knife stabbed his heart.Even knowing this was fake…the words hurt.
He shook his head.
“No.”
The false Elen smiled cruelly.
“Why struggle to reach me…when I do not want you?”
Ivan trembled—
then whispered:
“You are NOT her.”
He swung his sword.
The illusion exploded into fragments.
---
THE THIRD TEST: THE REAL YOU
The final reflection appeared.
Not weak.Not fearful.
But evolved.
A version of Ivan he could become:
Eyes burning with power.A sword that glowed like starlight.A body radiating divine presence.
This reflection stared at him calmly.
“You seek to reach me…but you are not ready.”
Ivan tightened his grip on his sword.
“I will be.”
“No.”The reflection raised its blade.“You will face me.”
The entire chamber shook.Stars dimmed. The gate pulsed violently.
This was not an illusion.
This was not fear.
This was Ivan’s final opponent:
Himself — the transcended version.
The voice thundered:
“THE FINAL FIGHT.THE TRUTH OF ASCENSION:CONQUER YOUR LIMIT—OR DIE.”
---
THE BATTLE BEGINS
The transcended Ivan moved first.
A blur—faster than wind—sharper than sound.
CLASH!!!
Ivan blocked—
—but the shockwave shattered the mirror floor for miles.
He coughed blood.
“So strong…!”
His future self blinked behind him instantly.
SLASH!!
Ivan twisted away—barely—a golden line cutting across his chest.
Pain burst through him.
His reflection spoke calmly:
“You cannot surpass what you do not understand.”
Ivan roared and counterattacked—
Their swords collided—sparks bursting like tiny suns—power shaking the galaxy-filled hall.
Every strike from the transcended Ivan was perfect.Every movement flawless.Every blow lethal.
Ivan fought desperately—blocking—dodging—countering—never giving up.
But he was being overwhelmed.
His future self drove him backward until Ivan’s knee hit the shining floor.
The transcended version raised his sword.
“This is your limit.”
Ivan gritted his teeth.
Sweat mixed with blood.
“NO—THIS IS—MY—START!!”
He swung upward with everything he had—
And the golden thread flared like a burning star.
The blast knocked both of them backward.
Ivan staggered…but the future self struggled to stay standing.
The gate pulsed brightly.
The voice whispered:
“THE THREAD OF FATE…RESPONDS TO HIS WILL.”
---
THE FINAL MOMENT
Both Ivans charged.
Both screamed.
Both slashed.
Their swords collided—
The chamber exploded in light—
And a voice echoed:
“ONLY ONE YOU MAY EXIST.”
The light faded.
The transcended reflection shattered—slowly—silently—falling apart like ashes in the wind.
Ivan stood alone.
Breathing heavily.
Barely conscious.
But victorious.
---
THE GATE OPENS
The massive white doors glowed.
Symbols lit up in sequence.
The chamber rumbled violently.
A beam of warm light washed over Ivan, healing wounds, steadying breath.
The voice—calm now—spoke:
“IVAN.YOUR TRUTH IS ACCEPTED.”
The doors slowly opened—
Revealing pure golden light beyond.
A power that felt infinite.
Warmth washed over Ivan.
Peace.
Strength.
Purpose.
Ascension.
The voice declared:
“THE SEVENTH VEIL…HAS BEEN PASSED.”
Ivan stepped forward—
through the gate—
into the unknown future awaiting him.
Toward the path…
Back to Elen.
