Chapter 36:
En Passant Grandmaster Volume 2
Okisato wasted no time in reducing Haruki to a battered and bruised mess.
"No more... NO MORE! IT HURTS! IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS! WHY DOES IT HURT SO MUCH!?" Haruki wailed in his mind.
Everyone stared in disbelief as they watched the beatdown. Yet most were happy for the beatdown, while some began to fear his strength.
"YO! Oki-kun's givin’ him a BEATDOWN! Wreck his ass some more!" Iori called out.
"Oi, Oi, I get ya wanna make him bleed, but hurry it up! Inoue's dying over here!" Yuusuke fumed as he glanced over at Mimoko.
"Don't worry, unlike this piece of shit, Inoue-senpai's strong. Besides, I won't let this go into the 5th round," Okisato glared as he continued to pummel Haruki until the bell rang.
Haruki had never been in so much pain, nor been so terrified in his life. "No more, NO MORE PAIN!" he thought as Okisato opened the chess game by moving his pawn to e4.
Haruki painfully moved his pawn to f5, prompting Okisato to capture it with his e-pawn before moving to g5 on his next turn.
"You want me to end this?" Okisato glared as his hand hovered over his queen.
Haruki shook his head yes, but instead of mating him, Okisato instead moved his pawn to g4. "No, you're going to suffer here as well," he glared.
Haruki let out a pained yelp, before a voice in his head calmed him down. "Wait, why not avoid capturin’ any pieces, let him capture all yours, and have him stalemate ya."
Haruki began to cackle as he agreed with himself and moved his pawn to e5. Thus kicked off a tango of moves going Queen e2, d5, queen captures e5, check, bishop e7, queen captures h8, h5, queen captures h5, check, king d7, knight f3, knight f6, queen captures g5, knight h7, knight e5, check, until finally king e8 put Haruki on the verge of mate with queen g6, check, forcing his king to f8. Yet Okisato wanted complete humiliation, which thanks to Haruki's delusional cooperation, presented him with an opportunity to achieve something that would never happen in practical play.
"I'll go for it. After all, I'll win anyway," Okisato thought as he captured the knight at h7 with his queen.
Yuusuke began banging on his prison in fury as he watched the game unfold. "YOU IDIOT! HE'S TRYIN’ TO GET A STALEMATE! MATE HIM! MATE HIM!"
Bishop d6, knight c3, queen h4, queen captures h4, knight c6, knight g6, check, king e8, knight captures d5, b5, b4, bishop e7, g-knight captures e7, knight d8, knight captures c7, check, king d7, yet Okisato still refused to end Haruki as he captured the rook at a8 with his knight.
Bishop a6, bishop g2, bishop b7, bishop captures b7, knight c6, bishop captures c6, check, king d8, bishop captures b5, a5, bishop f1, a4, c4, a3, bishop captures a3, king e8, b5, king d8, knight c6, check, king e8, c5, king f7. The others quickly echoed Yuusuke's sentiment and began hurling criticism at Okisato, all except Iori, who was beginning to get smitten with him.
"What the hell is Tanabe-kun trying to do!? Although, I guess if we take the rules into effect... Still, why does he need to be like this?" Mimoko grumbled.
C6, king g8, b6, king f7, c7, king g8, b7, king f7, then finally Okisato's pawn reached c8 and became a queen. Haruki wearily moved his king to g7, but rather than end the game, Okisato instead moved his new queen to c1. Haruki didn't care and moved his king to g8, still clinging to hopes of a draw.
"Ah, this one's a check," Okisato mumbled as he moved his pawn to b8 and promoted it to a queen.
Now Haruki could see where things were going. "PERFECT! There's no way you'll pull it off, so go ahead and try, and stalemate me in the process! Then with draw odds, I win and Mimoko-tan gets fucked by Elijah!" he delusionally thought as he moved his king to g7 just as the bell rang.
It was back to boxing, meaning Haruki was back to being sandbagged by Okisato in boxing.
"Are you trying to kill him or something!?" Yuusuke fumed.
"The DESPER wouldn't allow anyone to die mid-match. Besides, I still haven't humiliated him enough," Okisato thought.
The round soon ended with the chess resuming shortly after.
B-queen b1, king g8, d4, king g7, d5, king g8, d6, king g7, f6, check, king g8, d7, king f7, bishop b2, king e6, and then after pawn d8, four queens were on the board. King f7, d-queen d1, king e8, g5, king f7, a4, king g8, f4, king f7, queen f2, king e8, h4, king f7, a5, king e8, h5, king f7, h6, king e8, knight h4, king f7, g6, check, king e8, f7, check, king e7, h7, king f8, a6, king e7, then on move 60, pawn h8, queen, meant there were now 5 white queens on the board. This was a tightrope for Okisato as one wrong move and it was stalemate, yet he was undeterred.
King e6, f5, check, king e7, f6, check, king e6, bishop a3, king e5, f8, and queen number 6 was on the board. King e6, g7, king e5, f7, king e6, f-queen b4, king e5, knight b6, king e6, a7, king e5, then finally a8, queen, and Okisato was seven queens strong.
Haruki was forced to move his king to e6, but now on move 70 with 7 queens, 2 rooks, 2 bishops, 2 knights, and a king to block off squares, he was getting even more giddy about the prospect of being stalemated. "Stalemate, STALEMATE! YOU STALEMATE AND EVERYTHING'S NULLIFIED! THEN MIMOKO-TAN GETS PUMMELED BY ELIJAH'S MOUNTAIN FISTS!" Haruki attempted to say with his broken jaw.
His delusion quickly turned to despair though as Okisato moved his knight to a4, allowing his king to move to e5, and set up the humiliating 9 queen mate Okisato planned for him. Okisato wasted no time in moving his pawn to g8 and promoting it to a queen, forcing Haruki's king to e6. Now, all he had to do was promote his remaining pawn, and it was over.
"Checkmate," Okisato glared as he moved his pawn to f8 and promoted it to a queen.
"Okisato wins!" the voice on the loudspeaker roared as Okisato flicked Haruki's king into his shocked face, knocking him out of his chair and down to the ground with a thud.
The scenery returned to normal as Haruki's proxies began to turn to dust. Haruki himself began having all his bones explode from within, causing is body to jolt around and splurt out blood madly. All the members of the chess club immediately had their injuries healed as the members that had been imprisoned were also released.
"Now care to explain why you did that?" Mimoko angrily smiled.
"In chess boxing, if there's a draw in chess, the decision goes to boxing. And as you saw, I would have easily won by decision, though I would have quickly KO'd the piece of shit had it gone to the last round of boxing."
"As I thought. So that's why you went for the 9-queen mate. Ugh, I'll give you praise for your victory, even though you could have won in just 2 moves."
"I wanted to hit him as much as I could."
"In that case, you did good."
"Oi, Inoue. I know that guy's shit, but Tanabe forsook a Fool's Mate-"
"Some GM once said 'When it's mate in 1, look for better', so shut up, Shouben-kun," Iori snickered.
"Ja, you have no place to diss when you went down harder than a soggy sausage," a voice swooned.
Horrified, everyone stared at Rudolph smiling proudly at them.
"How!?"
"I vas never a proxy, ja, just his boyfriend, ja," Rudolph giggled.
"But he said you threw people off the mountain and used to be nice."
"Before I met him. But he was oh too sexy, and I broke my vows to be with him, ja."
"And are you going to avenge him?" Okisato scowled as he cracked his shoulders.
"Nein, I vill spare you... today. But tomorrow? Who knows?" Rudolph giggled as he flashed his DESPER before skipping away.
"Come to think of it, we never saw that guy play chess thanks to Shouben-kun blowing it so quickly," Iori grumbled.
"Now I just have to confirm Zenihara-san's alright" Okisato nodded as he pulled out his phone.
"And as for me, I need to save okaa-chan," Mimoko declared as she turned to face Maestro Himitsu and Safumi.
