The Reincarnation

Then at last, we just blasted off that underground facility to leave no trace behind.

After that it was all finally over or so I thought…..

After everything was over, Dr Fuji along with his accomplishes surrendered to the police and told them most of the things that had happened they also gave evidences of the crimes but we already killed the ones who did the crime so only a little investigation was done and every one was putted in jail for a long time but Dr Fuji were given death sentence, this was what he wanted he did not wish to live with all the guilt.

But he told me that I was still young and can make a new life and I should move on in life he said that he wanted me to live in his place, he said it as his final wish so I couldn’t back from it.

He also asked me to tell the kids to stay in the safe place until it was safe enough to leave,

He said his final good bye, it was just like seeing your guardian die, he was the one who guided me. It felt a little sad but I knew I couldn’t stop him so I just said goodbye and told him I was thankful for everything he did he did for me with a smile on my face,

Dr Fuji felt relieved and looked happy.

So, after that we went our separate ways, I still kept a check on the kids they looked happy it was genuine happiness,

I then made a grave for all the people that had died because of the experiment. I can not bring back the dead but this was the least I could do.

Then after a few weeks I started working part time as a library assistant and rented an apartment in the city it was a little run down but was still a place I could call home,

I for once in my life looking forward to living another day, but it didn’t last very long….

On a Saturday evening after my shift was over, I went down to my usual path to home but today something felt off one guy was following me,

So, I had my guard up to make sure I was being followed I went down a dark alley to see if he still followed and I was right he continued following me, so I continued walking until a dead end came then I just turned to face the guy who was following me and he came there was darkness so his face was not much visible but it had a burn scar a huge burn scar on his face then he stopped at a distance and started talking

“Did you really think you could live happily after destroying us all?”

I understood, it was my past coming back to haunt me I stayed silent I didn’t know how much he knows.

Then he continued in a loud voice “You destroyed my life look at this scar you gave me, you tried to kill me by destroying the lab while I was still in it!”

Then it clicked he somehow was able to survive the blast, it shouldn’t have been possible I asked “how did you survive?” in a very calm voice while I was still looking around to find something that could be used as a weapon,

“How I survived you ask? Well, it was simple I survived using the escape pod but only I survived but was almost burned to death because of the fire you caused before the blast and now I am here to seek revenge.”

His tone was angry and he looked like he could kill me any second but I have already set my eyes on the sharp stone that was at the end of the alley it was the easiest and the quickest option.

But then he continued “And I also know about the little hideaway of yours where the kids are being kept.” He told me this while having a grin on his face and then he took out a gun from his pocket and aimed at me,

While he was aiming my instincts kicked in and within a second, I rushed to the stone and then quickly closed the distance between us and stabbed him in his neck I was way faster than him but the sudden moment surprised him and he fired the gun,

It echoed through the alley and it hit me directly at my chest I fell to the ground while I was still conscious, I made sure to leave a deep wound on the neck his survival chances were negligible but so were mine.

Soon I lost consciousness but it felt like I was lying somewhere peacefully, it felt calm and relaxing I hared sirens of an ambulance but they were getting less and less audible until it finally stopped,

I understood that I was going to die soon while my brain showed me all my memories in order to escape death but it was inevitable,

‘But I wish to live, I wish to live for myself for once, I wish to be happy for once…’

I could do nothing but wish.

Then something strange happened I hared footsteps coming towards me and then as I opened my eyes weakly, I saw a man approaching me, strangely enough I felt like my strength was coming back to me the numbness was gone I was able to sit, as I saw around me there was nothing but darkness but the man was visible like day.

He looked old and wore black coat on white coat his clothes looked like that you would find a duke wearing in novels.

His skin was pale and he had white with a little shade of grey his eyes shined a light shade of blue.

He looked like he was in his late twenties.

He came closer and sat beside me and asked me,

“You want another shot at life huh?”

I found him strange and was on high guard around him but in a weak voice I asked

“Am I dead?”

“Yes” he said in a calm voice.

“So, is it afterlife?”

With a smile he said

“Technically no, this is not after life, generally Mr. Reaper comes and I just watch, I don’t get involved. But I made an exception for the first time.”

“What exactly are you?”

He stood tall and said,

“I am Shozosha, people refer to me as Lord Sozo. And I am the one who created every thing and everyone, even the very God you worship, and today I came to answer your prayers.”

His words shocked Ningyo, he knew he was already dead so what this man was saying must have been true but he was still hard to believe just as I was forming my words to speak, he looked at me and gave a smile and said,

“Why would I tell lies to a dead person so have a little faith, kid!”

He sounded convincing but was still way too mysterious to be trusted, but I kept a little faith in him for the time being then he continued,

“A little faith is enough”

I knew it, he was reading my mind and his intensions were unclear he was someone dangerous, so I kept my distance.

He noticed it right away and left out a sigh, then he said

“Anyways lets get straight to the point, you want to live a new life where you are free and I want someone who will go to a different world and do some works for me, so it is a win-win situation for both of us, right?”

He continued with a pause

“Let me give you a choice. First, you will die and will be sent to hell for your sins or second, you take the offer to go and live a new life in a different world.

So, what is your answer?”

I thought for a few seconds and I went with the choice that looked promising but I needed to clarify something,

“Tell me what is it that you want me to do in that other world?”

This was very important question that could decide my life in the other world.

After hearing my question he said in a serious tone,

“I want you to kill someone for me.”

“May I ask who?”

“Sorry but cannot tell you right now and you can live your life until the time of killing comes.

And also, I will not be the one giving you directions after you go to that world, I will just do what I have always done, to observe what my creation can accomplish before they get destroyed.”

 “So, who will tell me who I have to kill?”

“You will know when the time comes, until then you can live a carefree life,

So, what do you say?”

I thought for a while and after that I said

“I will go to that other world of yours, but I will need the necessary information to live in that world along with the language.”

After hearing this he had a relieved look on his face,

“Oh, you don’t need to worry about that.”

“What do you mean?”

 “You died so I will have to make a new body for you and then put your soul in that body,

So, wouldn’t it be better to make you a kid 3 or 4 years of age?”

“Huh, what do mean you will make me a kid?”

“Relax kid, you were not that old when you died anyway so it shouldn’t be a problem right?”

I gave him a puzzled look with a hint of disapproval he noticed it and said,

“Ok then let me make a deal, I will give you your original memories when you are 6 or 7 years old, does this sound fine to you?”

I gave out a sigh and then said, “Ok but at 7 years old ok.”

He looked a little disappointed as he said,

“Fine, your choice.

So, then let’s send you that world.”

Then he just snapped his fingers and the scenery changed instantly I was somewhere else a place I never saw before I whispered to myself

“So, this is the new world!”

After Ningyo disappeared and Lord Sozo were still standing still a voice echoed through the realm a similar voice it said, “You really don’t know how to convince someone.”

“Is it criticism I hear?” Lord Sozo asked in a light voice.

(In a calm voice) “Oh, do not misunderstand I was just surprised to see it.”

“I understand”

With a pause Lord Sozo continued “So, I have something I want you to do.”

Without missing a beat that man answered,

“I know what that you want and I now know why you wanted me to read that book.”

“So, you figured it out huh?”

“You know that it was not really hard to figure out right, all dots were too easy to connect.”

“That’s good then, saves me the hassle to explain everything.”

then in a serious tone the man said,

“I will go you can reincarnate me there.”

“Woah, that is a surprise I thought you will decline.”

“I don’t really have anything to do here so might as well do something.”

Then with hopeful eyes Lord Sozo thought of something the man noticed it and said,

“Don’t even think about it, I will go there as a 10year old around the time that kid named Ningyo will get his memories back. Rest I will figure out myself.”

“Well, that makes my work easy, you have any request or you want to ask anything?”

“Yes, I want to know that which kingdom or region is in most despair and is on the brink of collapsing?”

“Due to the recent wars, the people of the Yami Forest are in shambles they suffered the most losses during the war because of their positioning.”

“Then it is decided, reincarnate me there and no need to create a family or anything like that for me, just send me there as a kid of 10 or so years old.”

 “You got it.”

After saying that Lord Sozo asked him one last thing,

“What shall I create you as human or devil or anything else?”

The man answered “What I was in my previous life will work.”

After that with a snap of a finger Lord Sozo reincarnated him along with Ningyo.
