The New World

Then he just snapped his fingers and the scenery changed instantly I was somewhere else a place I never saw before I whispered to myself

“So, this is the new world!”

As I looked around, I saw a warm place with lots of flowers and greenery it looked like a park but as I looked around others kids all looked happy but the adults there looked tired like they all went through something rough,

Then as I was looking around a man approached me, he looked large and had scars all over his body, but he had a warm smile on his face he looked kind, as he said,

“Let’s go home, Ningyo.”

His voice was filled with kindness I was not able to make words and was only able to nod,

He then took my hand and took me to a house, it looked warm (not physically but metaphorically.) I could only view things right now and was not able to do any actions,

As Lord Sozo said I will not be able to do anything till the memories came,

I was taken inside the house and after entering the man said,

“I will go and make food you can draw if you want.”

(While handing me drawing sheets along with crayons.)

I took them happily and started drawing and before I knew it the food was prepared,

The food looked delicious and the he also sat on the table in front of me and started eating while I was eating, he paused in between and said,

“Ningyo, after today I will be going somewhere, until then you will stay with Albert, I will try my best to return as quickly as I can ok.”

He looked sad and tired while saying that.

I wanted to ask something but couldn’t, but the I spoke but it was not exactly me it was like my body was responding but it was not me he said,

“Why dad, you just returned?” and was about to cry

But then the man looked at me and smiled, his smile looked weak and he was not able to form words and just sit there.

I understood something was wrong in this world and it was like he was trying to save me or something like that.

Then he went somewhere for six months, he sent letters and visited time to time but he was not able to stay more than a day and would go back the next day.

I was staying with an old man named Albert, he was a retired mage who once fought as a head mage for the fire kingdom but now as a got old, he was nothing more then an old man who just had the knowledge but lacked the mana for fighting so he retired.

He told me stories and the information about the world.

This was the time my memories of last 7 years were coming back to me slowly and after 5 months all the memories came back and I got to know most of the things I needed to know about the world.

Around 7 years ago a kid was left abandoned in front of a house deep in the forest, that forest was the continuation of the Yami forest inside the Fire Kingdom.

And this is where on of the great 5 heroes of the kingdom resided,

His name was Sir Carlos Leon, he was a warrior with exceptional mana capacity and strength, he had the ability to use every weapon with exceptional skills,

He was a core member of the hero’s party.

 but more than he was strong, he was kind. He had a soul of gold, so when he looked at the kid abandoned outside his house, he couldn’t bring himself to abandon that kid again by sending him away, so he adopted the kid whose name was Ningyo.

For the next six years he took care of him like his own father, but then the war broke out and it changed things, Carlos had to join in the war.

And the time Carlos spent at home reduced significantly. So, he decided that Ningyo would live with Albert who was his close friend until things settle down.

This was my story of everything that happened in the last 7 years.

Now for what I learnt about this world until now is.

This world is divided into 6 kingdoms, 5 of which are inhabited by humans named after the elemental magic they were best at,

Those five kingdoms were Fire Kingdom, Kingdom Aqua, Stone Kingdom, Wind Kingdom and Thunder Kingdom.

Among which Fire Kingdom was the biggest and Thunder Kingdom was the smallest.

And the sixth kingdom is the Dark Kingdom where all the devils lived along with their army, this kingdom was separated from the others one side the Lake of Gods separated it from the Kingdom Aqua, and on the other side it was separated from the Fire kingdom by a thick forest named Yami forest.

Yami forest was a place where the Elves, Orcs, beast men, dwarfs and the others creatures lived.

 The Fire kingdom was governed by the descendants of the Hero Luce, who once saved the nation from the devils,

Everyone in this world could use magic so the number of mages were more than warriors, warriors used enhancement magic to enhance their weapons, mages used staves or wands for channeling magic.

The current war was primarily happening between Fire kingdom and the Dark kingdom for the total control of the Yami Forest, this war started 2 years ago and is still going on.

After 6 months of departure Father came back and he looked tired, I greeted him and he looked at me and smiled as if all his fatigue went away, but Albert looked shocked as if he was wondering something but he didn’t say anything during that time.

After sometime at night I snuck out of my room and started hearing them.

Albert asked, “What is the status of the battlefield?”

Father answered, “the war is over, Albert.” (in a serious tone)

“What? Did we loose?” (in a shocked voice)

“The issue was resolved, the Yami forest declared itself a separate neutral nation.”

“You know devils will not stop until they take over Yami forest right, a declaration is simply not enough for them.” (in a loud voice)

“Trust me it is more than a simple declaration, they proved their strength by defending both our forces and the devils at once.” (in a calm voice)

“How is that possible? till a few months ago they were struggling to get proper food and now they are defending against both of the sides, I don’t believe they have the proper resources to fight back.”

“I believed that too, Albert but What I saw said a different story,

They somehow made preparations for war in the spam of a few months while we were busy fighting the devils, but it is still hard to believe and yet 5 days ago they somehow made the borders of the forest thick, new tress were there that were not there a day ago, we couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw that. Soon a letter arrived to both the sides declaring that ‘The Yami Forest is an independent nation now and who ever shall try to enter the forest with harm in mind will suffer consequences.’, this is their exact words”

“Since when are they strong enough to threaten? Those must be empty threats.”

“Trust me they are real threats, we tried to go inside the forest forcefully, but as we started cutting the trees down we were attacked by fire balls, the attack came from above and the amount of fire balls we enough to cover a large portion of the forest, it seemed like a large army of mages were there hiding in the trees, some try to enter the forest but they soon returned telling that the forest has changed the further they went the larger the forest went and it felt like the air was getting thicker and thicker the more they continued, so they came back to report the unusual changes.”

“How the hell did a place change that much over the course of a few days?” (Albert snapped)

(in a calm voice) “Someone helped them.”

“It is obvious that someone helped them but which nation helped them?”

“The intel I got says that one man and only one man was able to plan everything and execute it the spam of only a few months, he is like a genius planner or something.”

“Only one person planned all that in such less time with such less resources, sounds terrifying,

Do everything in your power to recruit him to our side we can’t loose an asset like that.”

“Do not worry I along with the party will go to the forest after 2 days.”

“It doesn’t sound like a good plan to send all the heroes to the forest.”

“I also thought that but the king is filled with greed, he wants someone like that on his side no matter what.”

“Anyways who is the person, what is his name?”

“That man is of an unknown origin and he goes by the name of the Forest Lord.”
