Chapter 1 " where it all began "

My name is Kai Aizl, and I’m just a regular high school student living alone in the city. 

My parents sent me here for better education without really thinking about how I’d survive on my own. 

So I chose a public school since it was free, and then somehow managed to land a part-time job. It wasn’t easy, 

but it paid enough for me to live a simple life. Still, after a few months, the loneliness started to hit me. No family, 

no one waiting for me at home. That’s when I realized I needed someone. Someone who felt like family.

That’s how I adopted a cat. Not a wife, don’t get the wrong idea. I’m too young for that, and I’m definitely not that smooth with girls either. 

I named her Yuki. Her fur was pure white, soft like clouds, and that’s exactly why I gave her that name. 

She had been left in a small cardboard box at a park when she was just a kitten. 

She was crying all alone, and I couldn’t walk past her like she didn’t exist. From that day on, she became my family.

Yuki loved eating more than anything. Typical cat behavior. Sometimes I’d give her fish, and she’d eat like it was the best meal in the world. 

One morning I woke up feeling something heavy on my chest, and when I opened my eyes, there she was, sleeping peacefully on me instead of the couch I bought her. 

I couldn’t even breathe properly, but… I didn’t hate it. It meant she trusted me.

I also had a close friend named Mina. She was the one who forced her way into my life and became my friend. Total extrovert. 

Complete opposite of me. Strangely, I never felt nervous talking to her. One day, she suddenly suggested that we should all do group study at my place. 

Her voice was so full of excitement that I couldn’t refuse. To be honest, I was bored living alone with just Yuki. As much as I loved her, I still needed human friends.

That afternoon, Mina and her two friends came over. I opened the door to find them standing there, smiling brightly. 

Mina immediately rushed inside and shouted that I had never told her I owned such a gorgeous cat. They all surrounded Yuki, started playing with her, petting her soft fur. 

Yuki didn’t resist at all. She actually seemed happy with all the attention. Everything felt normal. Peaceful.

Before we started studying, I offered to buy snacks. Bad idea. They ordered like I was a waiter at a restaurant, but I went anyway. When I came back and opened the door, my reality shattered.

“Master!”

A silver-haired girl rushed straight toward me. She was naked.

I dropped all the snacks and instantly covered my eyes, my heart almost jumping out of my chest. 

I screamed Mina’s name and demanded to know who that girl was and why she was naked in my house. 

Before Mina could explain, the girl suddenly started crying. Through her tears, she asked if I had forgotten her.

That voice. Those eyes. Slowly, I uncovered my face.“Y… Yuki?”

Mina scratched the back of her head and casually admitted that she had used transformation magic on my cat. 

In that moment, everything I believed about my normal life collapsed. My cat was now a human girl, standing in front of me, crying, calling me master.

And that was the exact moment my peaceful life came to an end.
