Chapter 72:

Flower Dance

Veil of the Shadow Hunter

Leegna stood at the heart of the realm's dark void, the shadows curling at his feet like serpents. Trapped within by the three attackers from the Dark Embassy, his face contorted into a menacing expression. There was no room for hesitation—he had no choice but to unleash his full power.

His blue eyes glowed intensely, the precognitive ability allowing him to see through the weaknesses of his enemies. His movements were swift, agile, like a dancer weaving through the battlefield with deadly precision. The three attackers, who thought they had the upper hand, soon realized they were the ones truly trapped.

Without a word, Leegna summoned the Lost Rapier of Dark Matter, its dark blade shimmering ominously. His first strike was a blur—a single, swift motion. One of the attackers fell, their life extinguished before they even had a chance to react. The remaining two stumbled backward, eyes wide with disbelief. They had underestimated him, and now they were forced to rethink their actions.

"Who sent you?" Leegna's voice cut through the tension like ice. His expression was calm, almost detached, as he advanced toward them. "Why are you here? You're trapped with me—not the other way around."

His precognition, combined with the power of the Velvet Cloak, gave him an overwhelming edge. He moved faster than they could perceive, dodging their attempts to retaliate, striking with deadly accuracy. Yet, with every move, Leegna felt a growing toll on his body. The rapid usage of his abilities was draining him.

Sensing his moment of opportunity, Leegna's voice hardened. "Is there a way for me to get stronger? To preserve my body and soul?"

The two remaining attackers, known as the Three Soul Remedies, shared a glance before attempting to sneak-attack him. But Leegna was always one step ahead. With a cold, emotionless precision, he countered their feeble attempts, dispatching them with a swift combo of his rapier and the shrouded power from Yuj.

They revealed their identities in vain. Leegna didn't bat an eye. He was here to extract information, not entertain meaningless titles.

Meanwhile, Yuj sat in silence, a frown deepening on his face. He couldn't sense Leegna. Something was wrong, and it gnawed at him. For the first time in a long while, Yuj felt a sliver of fear creeping into his mind. How had Leegna slipped out of his sight?

Both Unlec and the Eyeless Creature were equally useless—unable to locate Leegna in this realm. Yet, Yuj wasn't concerned for Leegna's safety. He was concerned for his own. If Leegna grows any more powerful...

Back in the dark realm, Leegna stood over the lifeless bodies of his enemies. He had broken free from their trap, but the victory came with a cost. His body, weakened by the strain of his powers, finally gave in. The world around him spun, and he fell to his knees before collapsing.

Yuj, tracking Leegna's fading presence, found him at last. His eyes widened as he saw the aftermath. Leegna had slaughtered all three enemies with terrifying efficiency. Yuj swallowed nervously, a new fear rising in him. Leegna was becoming too powerful, too quickly.

He knelt beside him, inspecting the unconscious form of his ally. With a flick of his fingers, Yuj called Unlec and the Eyeless Creature to him. Together, they carefully lifted Leegna and carried him to safety.

Before passing out, Leegna had learned one crucial thing: if he wanted to uncover the truth and grow stronger, he would have to invade the Dark Embassy itself. And the only way to gain the knowledge he sought was through brute force.

As Yuj stood over Leegna's unconscious body, a bead of sweat dripped down his temple. His plan to control Leegna was slipping through his fingers. If Leegna continued down this path, there would be no stopping him.

Leegna's final words echoed in Yuj's mind, a chilling reminder of what was to come:

"The time is upon me finally. I'll show them the dance of shadows—and darken their fate."
