The author's treat [Special]

"And... Author Mario over here's getting lazy again," Kisha snarled. 

Why do you say that?

"Um, the game between Okisato and Ota? Where is it!?"

I felt it would be more thematic to off screen it.

"Show it to me!"

Fine, here's a special treat...

Ota swayed to and fro as Okisato finished listing the wager for the battle. "...And as permitted, we'll play with a minute on the clocks, 1 second increment. Your move."

Ota began to recompose herself as she opened by moving her pawn to d4. "Why am I getting agitated? I can just play normal chess at a fast-"

But when facing Okisato, the chances of games playing out "normally" were low, especially given his unorthodox opening arsenal. 

"Jak tam twoje rozumienie polskiego, geniuszu [How's your Polish comprehension, genius]?" Okisato snickered as he moved his pawn to b5. 

Ota was completely thrown off guard by both the move and the Polish, eating into her time. "Ah! I need to move! E4!" she cried as she moved her pawn to e4. 

Instantaneously, Okisato moved his pawn to b4. Ota once again lost more time as she panicked before moving her pawn to e5.  Now with Ota down to 10 seconds, Okisato could get more creative as he moved his pawn to a5. Completely focused on the queen's side, Ota frantically moved her pawn to c4, but the moment she hit the clock, said pawn was captured by Okisato's b-pawn via en passant. 

"NO! I'm a genius!" Ota cried as she captured the pawn at c3 with her b-pawn. 

"Nope, Inoue-senpai humiliated you," Okisato declared as he moved his pawn to e6. 

And with that, Ota ran out of time before she could make her next move, giving the win to Okisato.

And that's the game.

"Wow, that was short."

"No! You're gonna write a proper arc, dammit!"
