Chapter 64:

Rotten Bones, Chapter 64

False Saviour

“By the way, did you see grandma anywhere?” asked Torden

Fraymon replied “I thought she was with father or you”

“She must be somewhere inside the crowd” said lord Kailer

His highness walked in forcing silence with his footsteps to echo the hall, he who walked down with his heir and Sigel knights, seeking a talk with the nobles under him

Walking down in full glory, smiling with his hair clean and his eyes bright, as if the sun choose a personal embodiment of hers to roam the night

He took his place, standing tall over the masses, he took his first deep breath in, and then he spoke saying

“I, know that the last few days have been terribly, horrible, in fact. Many of you lost some precious people, most lost their lives, fate of some is left unknown to this point”

“With each passing moment you’re getting stressful” At last King Gerdon faced the crowd as he said “and that is what the hallow stones wish”

The nobles and merchants felt weird about it as they started to share whispers amongst each other

King Gerdon continued his speech pushing this idea harder “You must’ve noticed them messing, how can such a big house disappear amongst this chaos? It is because they are the ones who arranged it”

The people started to question these statements, feeling as if it is an absurd lie made to push away the blame from the royal blood line

“After sever torture, the reader of the Varish, Brone, spit out every malicious act he committed up until now” said King Gerdon silencing all thoughts they had, the whole room was focused what was to come after

“The Varish were not the ones to send these slaves. it was the Hallow stones who made that deal, why you might ask?” said king Gerdon

“The hallow stones have nothing under their feet other then rock-solid lands, everything they consume comes either from the rivers wish we own half of, and the ocean”

“You can’t possibly except someone to feed on fish for the rest of their lives? They feared being left behind, so what can they possibly do?”

“They started this chaos, with the Varish to blame they stay out of the picture, and so the war shall start, they don’t care about loses, for they specialise in defence, and thus they need not to attack”

“They wished to sacrifice your resources, weakening you whole gaining themselves. But you might ask… How did the Great Reader of the Varish agree to such a thing?”

“After all, it is his country that will be harmed, the answer is simple, taking shelter under them, gaining power of his own, for as far as we know, he can’t reach such hights inside his home’s walls”

“They used the Viking’s hate to turn them into allies under the same goal, helping them flee the scene under covers of smoke”

“In short, the hallow stones used both the Vikings and Lord Brone to their own greed, forcing you to bear the loses”

Lowering both his tone and voice he said “My father used to tell me, a king of the crown is one who is strong” he looked up full of confidence and spoke

“But one of the people is just and fair, I shall wage war against the Hallow stones, and with it i shall compensate you, everything you lost, all I want, is your aid, and we shall bring Lord Varyon to Justice”

The crowd started to discuss these statements with each other

“It seems believable enough for me, after all the hate between the Waster family and the Hallow stones is deep rooted,” said a noble

“I did notice the disappearance of that house whole, and with Lady Elara being the sole causality the other day, this does support such an idea” replied another

“I still can’t seem to swallow the thing about Brone, that theory don’t hold much weight for me to say he did betray his home country” said a third noble

King Gerdon did not smile, Nore did he frown, he watched over the silent chaos calmly, speaking under his flesh and bones the thoughts that should never leave

“You did it, you created the needed motion, now all we need is time, with enough of it I will be ready to bring and execute Lord Varyon publicly, this shall satisfy that weird masked man”

Suddenly the door started to shake, a small door by the side had its handle moving violently

“I guess it is time” Thought Gerdon to himself

“Ladies and gentleman, I brought you the evidence, from that door Brone shall be brought forth to speak for his crimes”

“Once he does, we shall march forth towards the Hallow—” once the knight opened that door, the air froze, bloody and broken, Lord Varyon was the one to stand there, full of injuries barley standing

King Gerdon hand no reaction except for and open jaw

“How did he leave?” he thought to himself as he gaze was fixed on Varyon “There is at least 20 armed Knights, with 4 of them Sigel of iron”

The people felt fooled, lied to, how can they believe any other word of his anymore. Trying to fix the situation king Gerdon Shouted

“Apprehend the criminal!!”

Before they could reach him, he said with a smug, one of whom sees himself victorious

“I brought you a gift”

Without prior warning, Brone came from behind Varyon stabbing him in the neck as the knight crawled back

Brone… was no more, eyes sprouting from the ones he originally had, abnormally long limbs, his had double the number of fingers, with new ones carving a path through

From his open mouth, maggots fell down, sharp edged mouths, small in size

Although they seemed slow, they cut through Varyon’s skin like butter, and slowly he stood up as well, as his pupils doubled

“He is, rotten boned…” said King Gerdon,

“I… want my…seat” said Brone “I… want… my… seat” he kept looking around, terrified faces stared back at him “My… Seat…” he locked eyes with the throne, but knights thought of him carving the king

“My… SEAAT!!!” he ran cutting through the hoards of men, with each injury he left, the maggots falling out of him made it their goal to seek it

Screaming, running around, crushing one another, true horror removed the masks these men once held. Flames placed their hands in such an art as well

The places became a torch, Vikings stood from a far shocked by the scene, people ran out in flames as guards came in trying to put it off

Brone rushed forward, barley reaching for it, but the knights gave him no chance at harming the crown, with one strike from a hammer he fell down, broken back, twisted body screaming in pain

“What are you awaiting! Burn him before he makes more of these worms,” said King Gerdon as the guards ran down towards him

Screeched sounds came from his body “My… Seat… My……. SEAT!” his spine came back to its original status

He rushed towards the throne once more, fighting against the knights, but he did not stand a chance, in no time his skull was crushed forcing the maggots to flee

The hall bruned down slowly taking care of any worms inside as the knights watched over the outskirts for any who wished to escape

Lords, ladies and Merchants who managed to escape with their lives stood in silence, little soft chatters here and their awaiting what might come next

“This must’ve been arranged” said Torden reuniting with his family “How was Brone, of all people, infected, and for him to flee the dungeons uninjured”

King Gerdon did flee with his life, standing before them, his darkened look, the murmurs before him to continued to dance inside his ears

“Chain, everybody, and hold them inside their houses” said King Gerdon “No guard shall wear a helmet anymore, and double the ones who walk the streets” turning his back and walking towards the flower yard, leaving the terrified faces confused
