Chapter 12:

Time to Scrutinize

Bio-Mage

On the western outskirts of Hachioji, wedged between Miyamacho and Otsumachi was the destination for the still unnamed team. As Moku explained, the best area will be a relatively vacant region for this particular activity. Moku, Getsurin, and Yuuichirou arrived at an abandoned excavation site, one that Moku and his acquaintances already took advantage of by making a small hub of god knows what type of anarchist schemes. Nonetheless, this was the perfect spot to hopefully get some answers.

Kay and Zuina were also successful with their side mission, they found nothing of interest in the spy’s car nor any tracking devices, the only things they had were snacks and more cameras. The two then abandoned the car in a heavy area in east Tokyo. To then regroup at Zuina’s home.

“Okay, sir spies, let’s just make this a simple interaction and everyone will go home safe and sound.” Moku illustrated with his accent escaping.

“Let’s start with names, and who do you work for?” Moku casually asked, almost lazy, as if this was a dull, routine question that only telemarketers ask.

Now unloaded from the van, the spies remained tied up, the driver stayed calm and straight faced, a perfect spy. However, his partner was less than able to keep their composure in the stressful situation. Teeth, arms, and legs already clambering in worry, a face Moku knew was going to break easily.

However, the two didn’t say a word.

Moku had the sense of urgency, since this interrogation would get riskier the moment the US Armed Forces started to poke their heads around. So he did the most aggressive tactic he could think of. Behind him is Getsurin and Yuuichirou, the three still masked, wondering what Moku's next move will be as he casually pulls out his revolver to inspect it, checking the bullets, then taking out four of the six bullets.

“Let's start very small, your name, just the first name.” Moku spoke in a deep threatening voice, taking his time to chew each word, instilling as much fear as possible into the spies. “I’ll be about ten steps away from you, then in ten seconds if you don’t answer, I’ll pull the trigger in your direction.” Moku did as he said, walking backwards from the spies and flicking his revolver to rotate the positioning of the bullets.

“Ten…”

“Eight…”

“Six… Come on, this isn’t hard.” Moku mocked.

“Four…”

“Three… Anything at all will work.” Moku readied his aim.

“Two…”

“One.”

The harshest of echoes quaked the dirt covered plain. Moku fired his revolver at the two. The light smoke from the revolver fading around the barrel as the echo began to diminish into the surrounding forest.

“Well, look at that, 1 in 3 chance, and you got it on the first try, but it looks like I’ll have to get a little closer.” Moku announced with clear sarcasm as the bullet fired also felt sarcastic, since he and the spies knew that he wanted to miss. Regardless, the sound still caused the spies to obviously flinch. He then walked a few steps closer to them.

“Alright, starting from ten.” Moku spoke, then placed two more bullets in the revolver.

“Nine…”

“Seven… Just a name, 50/50 here.”

“Five…”

“Three—”

“Alright! I can’t take it!”

The driver’s partner shouted, just as Moku predicted.

“I’m Agent Haibara and this is Agent Sagi!” Agent Haibara hollered in a panic.

“Shut up!” Agent Sagi screamed.

“Why?! It's not like this is something worth dying over!” Agent Haibara responded.

“Do you have any idea how strict the boss is?” Agent Sagi screamed once more.

“Kumashiro-Sama said that the pictures aren’t that important!”

“Don’t say her name, dumbass!”

The two partners continued to argue back and forth for another moment. While Moku just stared at them in a mild confusion.

“Moku.” Yuuichirou got Moku’s attention as the spies argued. “Let’s just find out where their headquarters are, and go from there. I don’t think we’ll get much else of value.” He proposed for Moku to nod in agreement.

"I think you’re right, I mean if these guys are just taking pictures, they can’t know much of what’s exactly going on.” Moku pondered.

“Locate the brains of the operation.” Getsurin added.

“Exactly.” Moku agreed, to then turn to the spies and let another round off to instantly silence the arguing spies.

“Here’s what you’re going to do for me. Just tell me where you’re driving from, and we'll let you go. Easy as that.”

“Richmond Hotel Narita!” Agent Haibara confessed without hesitation while Agent Sagi groaned in frustration. “Our company renovated it for offices and to be inconspicuous.” He mentioned.

“Narita? Narita in Chiba?” Yuuichirou asked.

“Yeah, that’s right, we’ve been there for about three months.” Agent Haibara answered and then some.

“One last question.” Yuuichirou stated. “Give us the name of your company.” He asked.

“Xu Fu & Percy LLC.” Agent Haibara swiftly answered.

“Perfect, now let's get you up.” Moku announced.

The two spies were then taken to a large metal shipping crate, the kind that are designed to withstand the elements of travel overseas. Chipped paint from the years of building rust, the two spies were then placed inside, with little light available.

“Hey, you said you’d let us go!” Agent Haibara rightfully asked.

“Yeah, that’s right… Oh, you thought I was going to let you go free today? No, we have a little bit more digging to do.” Moku explained with a clear grin.

“But—!” Agent Haibara whined.

“There’s some jerky, water, magazines, a few flashlights, and relieve yourself just anywhere.” Moku mentioned as the harsh creak of the metal door closed shut. The two spies shouted a multitude of expletives that shook the shipping crate.

“Why Narita?” Yuuichirou wondered, as they returned to the van.

“Being near the airport may have something to do with it.” Moku guessed.

“Should we go there today? Some US troops are probably coming from that airport.” Getsurin proposed.

“That’s fine with me, about a two, two and half hour dive from here, pick up the ladies, and think of a game plan.” Moku extrapolated, both Getsurin and Yuuichirou agreed with the idea.

“I’ll call Ina right now.” Yuuichirou declared, as they began to drive off to execute the next steps.
