The main gate

The guild master was a man of renown, there isn't a person that doesn't know of his deeds over the years, sadly this is all that is known about him, no one knows his name, his powers or even how he look like, the very few that know are some high rank recepsionists, the majority of golden rank mages and the 7 daggers, but, today that number will increase to eight.

Asuka: you know, i am accustomed to wait long periods of time, i had my fair share of business reunions, but, i think we might have brocken some record for the longest waiting time.

Said the young lord as he was sitting on a large couch staring upwards at the ceiling fan while his girlfriend was sleeping with her head resting in his lap, while she slept he was gently stroking her hair, it was the day after the exam, the group was called to the guild headquarters, after their arrival they're told to wait in a special waiting room, the room wasn't very large, but it wasn't tiny either, in there was two couches one large and one small, the large one could fit upto three people sitting, the smaller one could only fit one, besides the samll couch there was a lone chair, sitting in front of the couches there was a glass table and to finish this tour there was a small armchair in front of the table in the room, they've been wainting in that room for THE LAST TWO HOURS and still no sign of anyone coming in there to explain to then why they have been summoned.

Izaya: hm? Oh yeah, i get you bocchama, i got so bored that i started to braid Kuroe's hair.

Kuroe (blushing): although i said that you didn't have to.

While waiting in the room everyone got bored, then they all decided to do something with their partners, Juan was doing push-ups on the floor while Noa was sitting on his back reading a light novel about a popular anime of some sort, Kuroe was sitting on a chair besides the smaller of the two couches in the room, while Izaya was brushing her hair to then proceeding to braid it, Hiro was sleeping while sitting in said couch, his head was resting on Kaho's shoulder making the girl completely embarassed, suddenly the doorknob started to turn followed by the sudden opening of the door, finally the receptionist that told them to wait in there showed herself:

Receptionist: sorry for the wait, i was looking for the guild master.

Asuka: did you find him?

Receptionist: yes.

As she said that an old man wearing a robe entered the room and seated himself in the armchair in front of the couches.

Guild master: good afternoon.

Kaho: Hiro wake up, the guild master is here.

Said the girl as she shakes the sleeping boy to awaken him.

Hiro: what? Oh, sorry, hey wait a minute, you're the old man from before.

Guild master: indeed i was.

Izaya: have you guys met before?

Said Izaya without diverting his focus from what he was doing.

Hiro: yes, i bumped into in the hall him yesterday.

Izaya: ah~, so, why did you call us here?

Guild master: well to make a long story short, there is a mission that i want all of you to be a part of.

Kuroe: mission? 

Noa: what sort of mission?

Guild master: a expedition, i want the eight of you to enter a gate and to close it.

Juan: 790, 791, 792, why us? As far as i know we're just principiantes, 797, 798...

Said Juan as he kept doing his push-ups.

Receptionist: the guild has very few people available at the moment, since this matter is urgent, we decided to form a small group of ten mages, you were the best option available due to your scores in the exam.

Asuka: ok, but, you said ten, there's only eight of us here.

Receptionist: yes, the other two mages were already informed of the mission, they were sent there yesterday to scout ahead, you will be accompained by one silver rank mage and one gold rank.

Izaya: woah, is it that urgent?

Guild master: i'm afraid so, the two that went ahead already sent a report, in it they said that the gate was created by a rank 3 myth.

The reaction of everyone in the room was one of surprise and astonishiment upon hearing those words, even You that was sleeping suddenly woke up in surprise, everyone of the group looked at each other and noded affirmatively as if agreeing to the mission.

Hiro: when do we depart?

The guild master and the receptionist looked at each other and began to smile upon hearing that spirited response.

Guild master: we will start tomorrow, be here at seven in the morning.

Izaya: wouldn't be better to go today? Why the wait?

Receptionist: we will need time to prepare the gate, as well the supplies you'll all need in this journey.

Noa: i see, i also think it wise to take today to preapare both physically and mentally to what's to come.

Guild master: precisely, no need to hurry we will get everything ready for you departure tomorrow, take the rest of the day to rest and ready yourselfs for tomorrow.

He then proceeds to dismiss then, the group then depart to their respective homes to prepare for what's to come.

In the following day the group is the taken to the gate room in the guild, upon entering the room they could immediately notice that the enormous circular portal before them was not the same kind they've seen on TV everyday, the mana concentration on this one is so dense that it made the air so heavy that the simple act of breathing was an arduous battle.

Kaho: "pant", "pant", so this...is...the main gate? "pant", "pant".

Hiro:"huff", "huff"  that...seems...to be...the case "huff", "huff".

Everyone was feeling the effects of the main gate, i mean almost everyone:

Izaya: hey, what's wrong? Is it that hard to breathe in here?

As he said that so nonchalantly everyone in the group thought to themselves:

Everyone in the group (mind): Monster

Izaya: i feel like you guys just thought of something very rude right now.

Everyone in the group: it's your imagination.

As the group gets closer and closer to the giant structure they can finally see a few silhouettes in the distance, two people shaped silhouettes and one that looked like a fully loaded carriage, upon getting closer the two people shaped silhouettes belonged to the guild master and the same receptionist from yesterday.

Guild master: welcome, did everyone slept well?

Receptionist: guild master, this not the time to light banter.

Guild master: tch, you're no fun, anyways, here is the portal, once you get inside it will close off from the outside world, and you will only be allowed to leave when you have cleared it, are you all ready?

Everyone: YES SIR!!!

Receptionist: good, i will now give you the items in this carriage, those are the supplies that you'll need in there.

Juan: how are we gonna carry all that? I mean, i'm not one to skip leg day, but, even i think this is a little too much to carry around.

Guild master: don't worry, the supplies will be put inside this Item bag.

The guild master then pulls the bag out of his pocket to show them, he then proceeds to open it in front of the carriage, the bag in an instant sucks all the items on it leaving the carriage empty.

Receptionist: carry it with you at all time, there's a communication device inside it, we know through the other group that it works in there, so, please try to keep in touch as many times as possible.

She then hands the Item bag that is the size of a keychain over to Kuroe, Kuroe then nods and puts the bag inside her skirt pocket, the group then exchange glances at each other and nods, they finally decide to step into the portal, one by one they enter it bracing themselves for the unknown, as the guild master watches as they go he then mutters softly to himself:

Guild master(muttering): good luck and please return safely.

The whole room then is engulfed by light, as the light fades away, the first thing the group saw when they opened their eyes was a huge lake in the distance. They also take notice of the wind blowing violently in their faces, they also take notice that they were free falling from a height of 500 meters towards said lake.

Kuroe: WE'RE FALLING? WHY ARE WE FALLING? WERE ARE WE FALLING?!

Izaya: I DON'T KNOW, BUT I KIND LIKE IT, THIS BREEZE FEELS AWESOME!

Asuka: IT SEEMS THE COODINATES OF THE GATE ARE RANDOM, EITHER THAT OR THEY LIKE TO APPEAR HIGH IN THE SKY FOR NO REASON!

You: WE SHOULD AIM FOR THE LAKE RIGHT?

Juan: LOOKS LIKE THE SAFEST APOSTA.

Noa: YOU THINK THE SILVER AND GOLD RANK MAGES ARE NEARBY?

Kaho: DOESN'T SEEM LIKE IT, IF THEY ARE THEY'RE PROBABLY ESCORTING THE TERRAIN.

Hiro: MAKES SENSE, WE SHOLD DO THE SAME WHEN WE LAND.

Kuroe: HOW ARE YOU GUYS SO CALM!?!?!?

Everyone else: WE'RE USED TO IT.

Izaya: WHY ARE SO DESPERATE?

As they aproach the ground the terrain begin to become more and more visible, they saw the lake more clearly now, not only this, they could see that said lake was part of a continent with a weird layout, the terrain was a mix between, asgardian, greek and japanese architecture, on the outer layer of the continent there were asgardians villages, on the center there were ancient greek cities, close to the top of the continent there was japanese land marks and at the very top there was a huge mountain that had a rainbow starway that leads to the top,  it was a curious sight, as the group took in the view they finally land in the lake.

Meanwhile at the top of the mountain, there was a huge palace on top of it, in there there was a huge corridor called Valhalla, said corridor had a huge red carpet that led to diferent sections of the palace, to the right there was the hall of the forest belonging to the queen of the hunt, to the right there was the hall of the melody that belonged to the king of the sun, to the upper right there was the Vingólf that belonged to both the queens of love, in the upper left is were you would find the war hall that belonged to the king of war, in the lower right there was hall of heroes that belonged to the two heroic kings, the hall in the lower right was the leaders hall that belonged to the king and queen of all and at the end of the corridor was the gladsheimr, the main hall of the palace, that was the place where all of the twelve monarchs joined to make the decisions and were they held their meetings, a young teenage boy with white hair and yellow eyes was making his way to the gladsheimr, he had a worried look in his face, his objective was simple, he had to make an announcement to the king of all:

White haired boy: your majesty Zodineus, as you've foreseen eight more of those called "mages" have arrived.

In front of the youth there as a huge wall, in said wall there was twelve thrones all organized in a circle and in the center of it the king of all was seating at his throne, he was an muscular old man, he had a long beard and long hair, in his body he was wearing a full body armor and in one of his eyes he was wearing a eyepatch, upon hearing the news that the youth brought, a smile formed at his lips, he then says:

Zodineus: interesting, it happened just as i foresaw it, go the others and warn them, tell them to prepare themselves.

White haired boy: prepare for what my liege?

The smile in his face widened as if he was amused by the question, he them says:

Zodineus: for a game.
