Chapter 1:
The Evil Inside
I was stuck. Trapped. I had the looming sensation that I couldn’t escape this, no matter how hard I tried. I was doomed, and so were my eardrums. "AOOAOAOOAAAAOAOOAOAOAAOAAOOAOOAOAOAAAAAAAAOAOAOOAOAOAOAOHHHHHH” The opera singer shrieked. Oop! I forgot to mention, I’m Akami, age 14. I’m the only heir to the throne of Adjiva, the sole Queendom. If possible, please mount a rescue operation. I am in the Iingva Opera Emporium, first row, 12th seat. This is not fun.
“Ughhhhhhhh” I quietly groaned as the opera andi hit a Mariah Carey note “
Shh! Quiet!” My father, King Androk breathed. Ugh, he was so annoying sometimes. He always acted like my BOSS. Well, he was my father and the King, BUT STILL. UGH. I covered my ears as she went above and beyond ‘insanely high pitch.’
“Hey-”
“EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE”
“-dad-”
“EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE”
“-can we-”
“EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE”
“-leave?”
“OOAoAOaOAOaOAOOAoAoAOAOAOAEeAeAeaEaEaEaEeAeAEaEAEAEEAEAEEEEAEAEAEEAAOEOEOEOOEOEEOEOEOEOEOOE”
“Yes.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~After much commotion, frantic escaping, and opera~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“For Muffin’s sake, I hated that.” I groaned to Evergreen, my sister.
“I know, right? Opera is just a lady screaming.” Evergreen agreed, and I felt like there was FINALLY someone I could talk to. All the maids were too busy, the vuuni were too stuck-up, and my parents were too judgmental. Evergreen was my only hope for sanity, though she had her quirks. Sometimes her left eye turned weirdly black, she grew plants the even the gardener Mara’ki didn’t know, and one time I saw her visit the Forbidden Forest. I’m worried about her...
It was time for bed, as FATHER said. UGH. After I brushed my teeth and whatnot, Evergreen and I climbed into bed and did not go to sleep.
