Chapter 15:

The Five Kingdoms II: The Demon on the moon

Kingdom of light: Stories untold

A Demon on the moon,

Confronted by the goddess,

A lake of blood…

Demons. Often appearing as blackish red beasts, though their appearance varies greatly among them, with long horns and sometimes, the older and more powerful ones have four arms. They wield a tremendous amount of power; to put it simply, they are beings who could go toe-to-toe with the Voidless Ascender. If that doesn't help, then just know they are very powerful. Very few exist; only one dwells in the original well. Its other kin don't care for one another the way humans would. This Demon took refuge on a barren rock. It planned on ruling over the inhabitants of the nearby planet like a god, but fate would have other plans. Star wandered through space; she wandered through the barren lands of what would be known as Blight-1, one of the few moons orbiting a planet. The demon felt the presence of the goddess and was annoyed. The demons did not tolerate those with a pure alignment, so he sought to wipe it away. The ensuing battle left scars on the moon. The goddess did not understand why the demon, why it attacked her, why it bore so much hatred for her. So while she was piecing the fragmented moon back together, she constructed a series of chambers deep in the moon and sealed the demon within them.

She had decided to leave behind a series of murals depicting what had happened, and one mural meant to be understood by one person in the future. Star hadn’t noticed, but she was bleeding, and when her blood soaked into the ground, life burst forth. She had decided to leave behind the lake of blood to sustain the life that had grown. Soon after, Star would create her own kin before becoming one with the planet, lying dormant till the end of time. The Demon remained frozen in place, unable to do anything. Most of his power had been used during the fight, and that Goddess had made sure he wouldn't be able to regain any of it. Hundreds of years later, humans would return to this moon, the chambers traversed, and the demon could feel the presence of the goddess spawn, along with something much older.

He could hear fighting outside, one of them was using what felt like abyssal energy, and the other...raw darkness? The walls were blocking most of what the demon could feel, but he would be able to get a closer look as the seal holding him came undone, and the doors to his confined space opened. Turns out, the one emitting the odd energy was a human child. He wasn't very impressive, but...he felt a kind of...kinship towards him; this only served to annoy him. Before the Demon could kill him, he felt another presence, one he knew vaguely. He engaged in battle with the vessel of Void and lost. The Demon's death came with a curse; if he were to fall to that bastard's hands, then he'd make him suffer, just not now.

The Demons in other wells felt the death of one of their own; he was powerful, but his death isn't what stirred them. It's who killed him, and the lingering energy mixed within his own.
