Club Duties

Monday has come, and with it the boredom that are these classes.
'I so want to sleep through these... No, the last time I did, a fight happened near the school and everyone was able to watch it through the window except for me, who was sound asleep. Never again.'

"Does anyone know the answer?"
"ME! Me! Teacher, pick me!"

'Simple problem, not much to get wrong.
I guess I'll work on my little project. I can add to the book of villains and heroes while I got the time. I only noted down Red and White's basic information yesterday, I should draw them next.'
The book of villains and heroes, a journal containing all the people I've seen while watching fights, something I recently started. I like to categorize them into their respective title as I see fit and fill in the information, potentially getting even more info the more I watch, in case I ever see them again and can use this information somehow, it's a fun side project I have.

'...Done. Well, no one will see this anyway, I like what I drew.'
The bell rings.
'That's it for the day, I'll head to the clubroom.'

"Oh, greetings Kazu!"
"Hello, you the only one in right now Tarou?"
"Yeah, just me, Shinji decided to go keep a lookout on the streets, I guess we're waiting on Hiro to maybe join us here"
"Maybe? I got here, relax."

'Woah, when did he get behind me? He's a sneaky one.'

"Oh, hey Hiro!"
"Hey."
"Hello to you too, so not much happening?"
"Not unless Shin gets back to us with news."
"Alright, I guess I'll get some more sleep in."

The Watchdog club, according to Tarou our objective is to keep a lookout, and report any suspicious or villainous activity to the hero HQ, basically a snitching club, but these guys are cool, and thanks to them I can easily get knowledge on any fight going down.

"WHAT?!"
Tarou's sudden outburst wakes me up.
"HUH, WHAT? What happened?"
"Shin's here!"
"Yeah, there's a huge fight going on right now, I already alerted HQ."
"Really? Should we go to it then?"
"That's way too dangerous."
"Yeah, it was already alerted, besides we got other stuff to do."
"Why'd you scream then?"
"Oh, sorry about that... I got excited about our club having helped HQ! Another villain brought to justice thanks to us!"

'They wouldn't willingly go there just to watch, and if I leave now they might ask questions... Maybe if I...'

"Well, we can't be certain of that yet."
"What do you mean?"
"What if they need more help? What if whoever they send gets defeated and is unable to call for help? We should be there to request further help from HQ if needed, don't you guys think so? It's our club duties!"
"I don't know, it'll still be dangerous..."
"...He's right. We need to be there!"
"Seriously?! I don't like this..."
"Shinji it's not like we'll be IN the fight. We'll stay on the outskirts, and we'll lay low, heck, we'll even split up so there's less chance of anyone finding us. You in?"
"...Ok. Fine."
"Let's move then! Quickly!"
"Yeah, let's."

'Nice, got out of doing our other duties and will get to watch a cool fight, this day is turning out a lot better than expected.
Wait a second...'

"Wait, where's Hiro? He was here before..."
"Oh since Shin got back to us with news, he said something about 'the club having done it's duty' and took off... I can't believe he doesn't take this as serious as you guys."
"Oh... Well that's Hiro alright."
'Damn it... I didn't think of that.'

...

"Ok, it was over there somewhere."

BOOM.

We all flinch as an explosion is heard.
"Yeah, it's there alright, let's split up so there's less chance of us getting found, got it Shinji, Tarou?"
"Yeah!"
"Yes..."
"Alright we'll meet back up around here after the fight, if not we'll message each other."

We split up and start heading in different directions, all towards the source of the explosion.
'Perfect, let's see... Teleporting to the roof is always a safe bet so I'll do that.
I teleport to a nearby roof, and keep going from roof to roof until I'm close enough to the fight, stopping at a relatively tall apartment building.
'Here we are, now who do we have?'

"YOU'RE DYING TODAY!"
"Why are you always like this!"

'There's no way... These two... Again?
At least it seems like there's a new hero gal though.'

"BOTH OF YOU STOP!"
Regardless of what she says, the two keep going at it, completely ignoring her.
"Ugh, why do I bother."
As she says that, a huge summoning circle appears in the sky.
"This should do the trick to make you two stop. Descend, Pillar of Earth."
The moment the spell is cast, a giant pillar of solid stone falls from the sky, crashing down right on top of the two.

'Huh? Did she just... kill them?'
Ping! Ping!

"Now, you two will play nice or I will drop it for real. Understood?"
Looking more closely, the pillar was stopped by a few small metal pillars that appear to be protruding from the ground, seemingly having been summoned too.

'Oh, she just scared them I guess... Quite effective, had me going too.'

"We... We will..."
"PPlease ddont do that again..."

They're visibly shaking while saying that.
'I'd be shaking too after that...'
Ping! Ping! Ping!

"I won't, provided you STOP DESTROYING THINGS, WHAT'S GOTTEN INTO YOU TWO?
As far as I know, you got off with a warning by some damn miracle. Who arrested you last time anyway?!"
"Some hero guy."
"Yeah, his name was... Uhh, Thunder, yeah that was it, Thunder."
"...I see now, I'll make sure to teach him a lesson later then, can't believe he did this. I'll be making sure you two do your time, no getting out of it.
...Though I am curious, why did you do this anyway?"
"It's her fault! She did it again!"
"Are you ACTUALLY serious Amy?! You keep overreacting?! HE'S INTO YOU! I JUST GOT YOU THE CONFIRMATION!"

'The same reason as before? These two are insane.'

"I'll seriously make you shut up one day!"
Gaia doesn't hesitate and immediately speaks up again.
"I'll be the one making you two shut up if you don't do it yourselves, is that CLEAR?"
They both look down.

'Show's over I guess. She's intense...'
Ping!
"Hm? Oh wow... I missed a ton of messages."

"KAZU, ARE YOU OK?!?! WHY ARE YOU NOT REPLYING?!!!"
"Yeah sorry, got distracted for a bit."
"When the giant pillar fell from the sky? Yeah I'm pretty sure I need a new pair of pants now."
"Shin you ok???"
"Yeah I'm alright Tarou. That was crazy though, who the heck is she?"
"Whoever she is, she's not playing around, Tarou do you know anything?"
"I couldn't get a good look at her, but I've only heard about one person that has that low a patience. I think her name was Gaia."
"Gaia?"
"That's her superhero name at least, I think she has master over the elemental magics, that's about all I know."
"That's cool and all but can we go already? I have a bad feeling about this. We're supposed to be here right now, it's not safe."
"Oh yeah, for sure! Should we stop for the day then?"
"You got a yeah from me, what about you Kazu?"
"Yeah, I'm getting tired anyway. cya guys"
"Cyaaa!"
"Bye dude"

'Gaia huh... I'll be sure to remember her. Another addition to the book.
Time to go home now.
...Something tells me mom is gonna order specifically from this area.'
