Chapter 3:

Chapter 3: Glass Shards

Destruction Of Balance

It was a behemoth of an eagle! It had huge wings, the size of the wings of an airplane. It had a statuesque and majestic body resembling the beauty of a peacock. However, it had bright red eyes staring right at the panic-stricken people nearby, ready to pounce on them the first chance it gets. It swooped towards a nearby, agitated person and perforated his rib cage with its beak as if it was the serrated edges of Poseidon's trident piercing its victim. You could hear the cracks of the poor man's rib cage as it deteriorated into rubble.

" What is that thing," I thought in pure agitation as I tried to Sidle away in the most hushed matter. But by the time I moved an inch, the eagle revolved its neck in a very sedate way and stared at me with its red eyes as it would kill me from gaping at me.

"AGHHHHHH," I screamed as I tried to scurry as fast as possible before the eagle released its noble wings and flew in front of me to block my path. It smiled in a very sly way with pity, like Loki grinning at the elves after tricking them into misery. It was ready to kill me.

I slowly closed my eyes while slowly awaiting my demise and suddenly feel a wave of something warm. I gradually open my eyes, and I see a thin, sharp, and red liquid. It was one that gives life and destroys it if too much is lost. It was one that the gods bestow upon us to live. It was blood. However, I felt no pain searing through my body. I felt nothing.

I gradually turned around in awe, quivering in the process. My pupils dilated in pure revelation as I saw the majestic eagle being devoured alive by something with beautiful, brown, and big fur with innocent black eyes and a snout-like nose. However, it had a dark aura that would engulf anything in its path. It had these extended claws that could impale the living daylight out of anything that dared to enrage such an aghast of a beast. It was a rat.

This beast glared right at me, showing its teeth smeared with the blood of the exalted eagle. It slyly smiled, aimed its claws at me. It pointed it at me as if it was a poacher getting ready to hunt down its beast. It sprang right at me and punctured my rib cage at the speed of light as if its claws were shards of glass ripping right through the skin of a measly animal.

The blood was ubiquitous as if it was a fountain made up of blood splattering everywhere. The blood spilled right onto my shirt dissolving right into it. The pain was unbearable as the pain seeped through my body as I lost every ounce of energy I had. I coughed blood as I tried to flee, but blood was all that was fleeing. I tried to scrape away, but behind me was nothing but the endless darkness getting read to inundate me with its everlasting suffering.

I shut my eyes in disregard of what was going to ensue and clenched my fists, endlessly hoping to get released from such torment. It was my end. I just wanted to die with no pain. I thought of how heartbroken my parents would be.

Suddenly a notion came up to me. If I die trying, maybe I would be more satisfied with my demise. I got up with the last ounce of energy I had and bolted towards the rat and shut my eyes, hoping that I did at least some effect on the beast.

I open my eyes to see my fist rip through the skin and fur of the rat as I feel the warmth and comfort of the blood that splattered everywhere. I actually enjoyed this. Maybe I was a psycho. The skin of the beastly creature soared everywhere, as if it was the shards of glass from a pane that been demolished by the blunt force of a monotonous hammer.

I could feel the monotone heartbeat of such a creature gradually passing away into absolute nothing. Blood was spewing everywhere as I just dropped in agony. My eyes closed faster than I could think. It was eternal darkness.
