Chapter 3:

Chapter 3 The World That Could Not Look Away

Light Deep inside Void Volume 1 : Calamity

The entities remained suspended in the air, their forms barely shifting as if movement itself was optional to them.

Something invisible spread outward from where they hovered, causing the air to ripple and distort.

The crack in the sky widened slowly, stretching across the clouds like a wound that refused to close.

People around Minyi froze where they stood, their eyes drawn upward no matter how hard they tried to look away.

Phones slipped from trembling hands, conversations died mid-sentence, and a strange silence settled over the streets.

Panic did not come all at once. It arrived in waves, carried by disbelief.

Live broadcasts began almost immediately.

News anchors struggled to keep their voices steady as footage from multiple cities filled the screen.

The same crack stretched across the sky everywhere, unchanged by distance or borders. No one needed explanations.

The world was witnessing the same impossible sight together. The first shockwave followed soon after.

It tore through the air without warning, shattering windows and throwing debris across the streets below the crack.

Buildings swayed violently, alarms blared, and screams finally broke the silence.

Minyi felt the ground tremble beneath her feet, her body instinctively crouching as the pressure crushed against her chest.

Then came another shockwave. And another. Each one struck harder than the last, carving destruction into the city beneath the sky.

Roads split open, structures collapsed inward, and entire blocks vanished beneath clouds of dust. Emergency broadcasts cut in and out as power failed across districts.

The entities did not move. They remained above it all, indifferent, as if the destruction below was a side effect rather than an intention.

Their presence alone was enough to bend reality, enough to tear the world apart without lifting a single hand.

The crack widened again. Something began to pour through. At first, it looked like mist, spilling downward like a flood of distorted light.

Then shapes formed within it, outlines that did not belong to this world. The air thickened as another dimension pushed through the opening, layering itself over the city below.

Streets twisted and reshaped as unfamiliar structures emerged from nothing.

Towers of alien design rose where buildings once stood, their geometry wrong, their surfaces reflecting light that did not exist.

The city below was no longer just destroyed. It was being replaced. People could do nothing but watch.

Minyi felt her legs weaken as she stared at the impossible landscape forming before her.

This was not an attack that could be stopped or a disaster that could be outrun.

The world was being rewritten in real time, and everyone was powerless to intervene.

Across the globe, the same realization settled in.

This was not a moment. It was a transition. Then, to protect the world, 5th Squad stood up.

Hundreds of soldiers emerged from thin air, their presence sudden and absolute.

Blades gleamed as they took formation without hesitation, their swords reflecting the fractured sky above.

For the first time since the calamity began, something moved with purpose. And the world held its breath.
