Chapter 13:

Train Highjacking

Marchen Madness

Adams POV

I open up the cabin door very slowly making sure that the swinging of the door makes no sound. I make sure to take notice of my surrounding before taking a step out. I keep my vigilance up

“As I thought you did get suspicious of me,” The woman, posing as a maid, whispers loud enough for me to hear; with a gun thumping on the back of my head.

“Who send you?” I ask stubbornly.

“Bow down with your hands on your head if you value your life,” She completely ignores me while throwing out the threat.

“I see.”

I bow down before making a sudden turn to the right. I punch her gun holding hand up as the bullet is fired at the ceiling of the train. With my other hand I punch her guts.

She had already hardened herself preparing for the impact, so the punch does not affect her much. I grab the wrist of her gun-holding hand and twist with as much force as possible. so that she can loosen the grips on the gun. She twists her entire body to prevent the pain from the twisting hand and punches my face with her free hand, drawing blood.

The pain surprises me but I do not stop and restrain her other hand by the wrist as well. Out of both free hands, she tries to kick my crotch but I stop her with my leg.

“Quiet feisty aren’t you,” I say while grinning as my gums bleed from the previous punches.

She points to her guns indicating that she will let it go. So you wanted to go the cowboy style, sure I will accept your challenge.

She lets go the gun. As soon as the thud of the gun hitting on the ground is picked up by my ears, I let go of her wrists and brandish my knife while going in for a non-lethal spot.

She blocks the attack with her hands, merely scratching her hands while plunging for the fun on my feet.

Shit I am in trouble. I knew I should have gone for the gun. Without any more hesitations, I jump to the right as a bullet grazes through my abdomen.

She jumps backwards and shoots again going for the kill. Not having much maneuverability due to the narrow hall in the train, I dunk and try to close the distance between us.

She shoots again. I knew I was in a pretty tight spot so I retreat. I wanted to throw the knife at her, but it was the only weapon I had, despite it being a pantry knife. So I abstain from throwing it.

I run towards the other end away from her as I hear two more shots at my heel. She runs towards me.

“Anyone there, a madwoman is chasing me!” I shout at the top of my lungs before thinking that she probably drugged them all as well. Well it would not be hard to drug someone’s food for her as she was posing as a hostess.

I am out of ideas and completely in danger of losing my life.

“It’s over now,” She screams while laughing as I am cornered.

I brace myself as I am out of options as I end up in a dead end. She points her gun at me and shoots. No bullets come out, however. I turn towards her and without giving her the chance to refill the bullets and with as much strength as possible I close up the distance between us and kick the gun out of her hands.

She looks up surprised as the gun flies away from her hand. From What I have observed was that she was an amateur when it was in fighting. She did not even keep a check of her bullets using them up indiscriminately. What’s more this was probably the first time she was in mission from whoever her superior was, that’s why she was over excited and never bothered to keep an eye out for anything I might have observed. Most experienced assassins would have an extra cartridge prepared by the time they are expected to run out of bullets.

As she gets distracted by the gun flying away, I try to hit her jaw with the flat of the plam but miss as she moves away in the last second. We exchange a few more rounds before both of us gets tired. She was bleeding from many places when she could not block my knife. I on the other hand could feel a black eye and a bleeding nose.

Before long both of us ends up in a deadlock with me in the advantage.

She wines in pain, as she tries to grab my face. I do not relax my joint locks on her. Her movement weakens every second before she soon stops moving at all. I knew she might be acting so I spend a few more seconds before letting go.

Being chased, being shot and trying to restrain your opponent while she aims for your vitals is incredibly tiring. I have been in such situations before, never in a train though. However it is never as easy as it seems in the movies.

Now I need to move her body before any of her companion finds out and tie her up while making sure that she does not have any more items on her that she can use to escape. And then when she wakes up I need to reassess the situation from whatever information I can get her to speak on. In the best case scenario I would be able to know how many more predators are there in the in the train and what is there objective in hijacking the train. In the worst case scenario, I would be stuck on square one completely on my own with one enemy less.

The only question right now is: How do I get her to talk?
