Chapter 22:
Bio-Mage
“Shit…”
“Come on, out the van, you know how this goes, so just do what we say.”

“Hey, did you see Moku’s message on the chat?” Zuina immediately announced as her and Yuuichirou entered Kay’s room with Getsurin still in it.
“Hu? No, what did he say?” Getsurin asked with confusion, as he’s in the middle of his lunch.
“It just says that he’ll be up in a few minutes.” Yuuichirou read.
“Why? We just talked to him, like not even an hour ago.” Getsurin wondered.
“Maybe he found something in the recordings he was talking about.” Zuina speculated.
“Well it must be important, considering his opinions on hospitals.” Getsurin emphasized.
“I don’t know why, but I have a bad feeling about this. That’s just not like Moku.” Zuina expressed.
“Everything will be alright, Ina. We’ll find out soon enough.” Yuuichirou reassured his sister.
“Okay…” Zuina replied, trying to ease herself by sitting down at the edge of Kay’s bed.
Just moments passed, hardly enough time to calm their nerves of Moku’s off putting text message. The door slowly opened to Moku’s face of failure, but there he showed a disgruntled glance at his team.
“Hey there Moku, I thought you didn't want to be in the hospital.” Yuuichirou spoke a light gag to ease the growing tension.
However, the team went cold as right behind Moku were none other than the spies that they locked in the shipment container. But their clothes were much different from what they had from their first encounter. Both wearing business professional white three-piece suits underlined by black dress shirt, neckties. Inverted from the traditional black. Cleanly shaven with their minds fresh and sharp.
“To answer your question, I didn't want to come in, but I ran into a pair of familiar faces.” Moku remarked with a tinge of rage bellowing beneath him as he walked over to stand next to the others.
“You better start talking or else.” Yuuichirou was first to demand as he moved in front of Zuina for protection.
“Just remain calm. Remember, this is the safest place for everyone.” The spy to slyly threaten was the one that often elevated their voice with frustration at the other spy during their interrogation.
“I do apologize for the barbarism, but this is just protocol.” The other spy spoke. “In case you forgot, I’m Agent Haibara and this is Agent Sagi.” He then followed with a smile that didn’t match the situation.
“You expect us to believe that’s actually your real name?” Moku spat.
“Oh, I assure you they are.” Agent Haibara answered with the same mismatched glee.
“Even so, they still told a lie during our interrogation… You don’t work for Xu Fu & Percy, do you?” Zuina mentioned with precision, while the others experienced shock at her claim. “Not only that, you likely had nothing to do with the building you sent us to.” She then speculated.
“Well well, you’ve got quite the head on your shoulders, little missy.” Agent Haibara praised Zuina’s intellectual prowess.
“Why did you lead us to that building? You must’ve known what was in there.” Zuina then asked, showing mild frustration, the most anger the team has seen so far from her.
“All part of the act my dear.” Agent Haibara remarked flamboyantly.
“If you’re done with your whining, we’re here for a reason you’ll want to pay attention to.” Agent Sagi spoke up.
Within seconds walks in a woman, a surprising 177cm… Probably 180 with heels. Wearing the same type of clothing as the spies, just more tight lipped, and form fitting. To also highlight her curvaceous, pear shaped frame as the boys so keenly noticed.
“Good afternoon.” The woman announced with an equally surprising neutrality in her vocals, only distinguished by the key identifiers of femininity.
“I’m Mami Kumashiro, it's a pleasure to meet you.” She greeted formally as she removed her jacket to neatly fold over her arm.
Mami is the type of woman that doesn’t find the necessity to ever wear makeup, but this unintentionally forces others to acknowledge her natural beauty. However, the woman’s face still has an eeriness that gives the feeling of staring at a Victorian doll, neutral, expressionless. As if she’s never known any other lifestyle except Stoicism.
“Judging from the bewildered scowl on your faces, I’d say you have some questions.” Mami then realized, effortlessly maintaining her stoic mannerisms. “To avoid losing any more time, feel free to ask your questions.” She then communicated.
“You’re a Bio Mage aren’t you?” Getsurin was the first to speak, as with his Bio Mage eye, he instantly recognized that Mami had a Viscera. For the others to fall into shock that someone like Mami is just like them.
“If you're referring to the fusion of an OO and myself, you are correct.” Mami answered.
With that simple confirmation the team fell silent, unsure of how to proceed with the situation. The only fact they know about this woman is somehow the most frightening.
“Are you perhaps finished with questions?” She asked, emotionless.
“Not in the slightest!” Zuina spoke up. “Are you here to execute us or take us into custody?” She quickly asked.
“Only if you refuse my offer… Now, are you finished?” Mami responded.
“You’re going to answer truthfully?” Zuina asked.
“Yes.” Mami simply replied.
“Prove it, show us your Viscera, or OO, as you called it.” Getsurin demanded.
“Very well.” Mami remarked for her to lift her hand upward, as they hadn’t noticed before but her right hand was covered by a black glove. She then carefully removed the glove, one finger at a time. With her hand now visible: The expectation that she’s a Bio Mage was instantly met. Her hand was discolored and artfully detailed with dense blue and stainless white. Perfect Porcelain covered her right hand.
“Wait a minute, your Viscera is your entire right hand?” Yuuichirou quickly realized. “That can’t be true, I have a right thumb as well, unless there’s more than 1 body.” He then explained, for the others to see his reasoning.
“Your initial statement is correct, however, your implications are incorrect. For now, I suggest you research the Vitruvian Man.” Mami remarked, for Zuina to quickly write in her notebook.
“So you’re like us, just how long have you had a Viscera?” Getsurin then asked.
“Longer than you think.” Mami vaguely replied.
“Can you just tell us what the hell is going on?” Moku growled as would a grumpy old man.
“The most apt description as to the current situation, can be phrased as… Until a few weeks ago, Magic has always been a well guarded secret, and now that it is known. I, along with a select few, had to learn said Magic out of a universal necessity.” Mami took a moment to form her analogy. “As did all of you, formed this bond out of necessity… With the exception of Zuina Sui, here.” Mami mentioned with neutrality, for Zuina to find some comfort behind her brother.
“Are you finished with your questions, so I can provide you with the reason why I'm here?” Mami asked, even though most at this point would display their annoyance with the situation. But for her, she aired her inquiry with an equally calm winter’s night.
The team, Rōnin To Kirin, didn’t know how to process this unexpected interaction, so they stared at Mami, and swiftly shared a glance at each other. For them to then, appearing as if they communicated with telepathy, simultaneously huddled over Kay’s bed, with a still Kay sleeping at the center of them.
