Dinner is served with explanations

  Ryota looks at them dumbfounded by what he just heard

"What ?" he managed to whispered

"Ah, Ryosuke you're always in such a hurry, i wanted to explain what we need him for, but yes Mrs. Endo, Ryosuke is correct, we want you to help us fight demons" Masami answered in a typical way like she was asking the most normal thing in the world

"But first things firsts, where are my manners i didn't even treat you something, come on, you must be starving, Nobuyuki, you and Takashi make some quality dinner for our guest, just this way Mrs. Endo"

Before he could react, Ryosuke and Sayaka escorted him to the up floor where the four of them sit on one of the square tables with view at the lake. They sit cosy and after a bit a middle aged man wearing servant attire, came to set the tableware. He had short grey hair which went down to just below his ears and a thick mustache. His movements were slow and delicately, and after he finished settling the table he left without saying a word.   

Ryota still dumbfounded by the whole situation tried to understand the whole situation

"Wait, i don't understand what's going on here, what exactly do you mean by "killing demons" ?"

"Oh don't worry about that, we will talk after we eat, Mrs. Endo" Masami answered calmly

"I don't want to eat, i didn't came all the way here to eat, i just came after i found and fed your cat for..."

"Exactly, so after you fed my cat Mrs. Endo i'm showing you my gratitude by feeding you, it's as simple as that, by the way would it be more comfortable by letting as take your things and your coat, Takashi if you please take the coat and the things of this gentleman."

Ryota he was completely forgotten that he was still carrying  the tsukemono from the market

"Ah, but that's my dinner for tonight, i just  bought some beni shōga for..."

"Oh how lovely" Masami clapped her hands with excitement 

"We will serve it with the rest of the dinner, i hope you don't mind of me taking a bite or two ? I just love beni shōga" Masami asked with excitement

"Ah no Miss...i mean Masami, i don't mind..."

"Excellent, Takashi take Mr. Endo coat and take the tsukemono to be served with the rest of the food"

The man nodded, and took Ryota's coat politely the the bag with the tsukemono and went downstairs.

"Who's that again ?" Ryota asked to Masami

"Oh him, he's Takashi Kubo, he's working here as a waiter and also as a cook in the kitchen, he's cooking skills are simply fabulous, you will be very satisfied Mrs. Endo"

"I see, wait.. i mean i don't care about his cooking skills, what you said previously about demons"

"Now now Mr. Endo" Masami gently pressed her finger to Ryota's mouth

"It's not polite for a host to start talking about business without first treating him first, that's not proper hospitality, so i know you got a lot of question, but please bare it and enjoy the food first, then we will talk about business" Masami said with a soft tone without taking any more objections

Ryota understood that whatever he would said, would get him nowhere so sat silently waiting for the food.

After some time passed Takashi came back with a disk full of Kyoto local delicacies. He put in front of each one of them a bowl with Nishin Soba, a big wooden disk full of saba sushi in the middle of a table and in front of Ryota in ceramic bowl the beni shōga which he bought earlier from the market.

"Thank you so much Takashi, everything looks delicious" Masami said happy

"Thank you ma'am" Takashi bow politely and went back downstairs

"Okay now, we don't want to let them get cold now don't we ? So without further ado let's dig in"

Ryota raise his chopsticks and took a bite from Soba. It was delicious, and with every bite his whole body started warming up.

"Don't forget to eat the vegetables as well, not just the fish" Ryosuke said to Sayaka like he was his parent

"Yes" Sayaka said quietly without any enthusiasm

"Oh yes, that's right Sayaka dearie, you need to eat all your vegetables to become healthy and strong don't you agree Mr Endo ?" said also Masami

"Ah, yes of course, ehm also you can call me Ryota mi...ehm Masami"

"Oh sure thing Ryota"

"And also, you said you liked tsukemono, you can have some" he said politely as he applied the bowl with the beni shōga

"My my, you're a true gentleman aren't you Ryota," she said happily as she took some beni shoga to her plate

 "And paying attention to anything i say, you're a true sweetheart"

"Ah, no but you're treating me this delicious food..."

"Oh my, if you keep treating me so sweetly i will consider myself of going on a date with you"

"Ah what ?" Ryota asked as he blushed taken aback by her words

"Ehe, just joking but you can't blame a woman for trying Ryota, you and i aren't young anymore like those two, so we have to hurry if we don't to be left on the shelf" Masami answered in joyful tone

They kept eating into high spirits like they were old friends, even Ryota had forgot his place in this whole situation.

After they finished their food, Takashi came and gather the plates and the bowls for cleaning

"Now Mr. Endo or else Ryota, i believe now it's time to answer your questions" Masami said while taking a serious look on her face.

"Well, earlier you said something about demons, but that was a joke of yours right ?" Ryota sked still influenced from the friendly and joyful aura while they were eating.

"No Mr. Endo it wasn't a joke" Ryosuke applied coldly

"I'm afraid it's true Ryota dearie, that's the job we want help" Masami continued

"Ehe, and what i mean what exactly is that, ? I mean demons are..."

"Well to take things from the beginning, except from my current work at this café I'm also a member of  SAEA, a secret organization of an alliance between sorcerers and exorcists which they united years ago to exterminate every demon on earth, there various stations all over country which they are fighting demons"

"We are the SAEA of Kyoto and our job is to protect Kyoto of demons which the wish to harm the citizens" Ryosuke explained

"So you're believing to demons in other words" Ryota asked politely

"We don't believe we know they are real" Ryosuke said affirmatively

"Demons exist, into darkness" Sayaka said quietly

"Oh i see, so you are some kind of Cult ? Well that explains a lot, well then I'm sorry but I'm an Atheist so i don't believe.."

"We're not a Cult Ryota, and we don't belong to any of the official religions of the world, you can think of us as Freelancers who fight against demons" Masami explained

"Oh like Power Rangers huh ? I see, and tell me why exactly did you decided that i can or will agree to fight demons along with you" Ryota asked tenderly 

"Because you have humility Mr. Endo" Ryosuke with a sharp tone

"Excuse me ?"

"Some people have humility, a various and uncommon capacity especial nowadays with everyone trying to achieve fame and wealth" Masami said nonchalant 

"So that makes me a failure to my personal career ? "

"Nope, that makes you immune against demons, demons can't approach or fight people with humility because they can't control them by using their pride or greed as bait to bring them to their side or harm them spiritually" Masami explained calmly

"I see, so that makes me a big threat for them right ?"

"Yes, but they cannstill fight you if you haven't the proper knowledge to exorcism, it's like you have the perfect shield but without holding a sword, in other words you can only defend yourself" Ryosuke said like veteran from the battlefield

"Well that's bummer" Ryota said with fake disappointment

"That's the second reason we want you to join us, we can teach you the art of sorcery and exorcism so you can fight demons alongside with us" Ryosuke while looking at him sharply

"And that also give us a pretty big advance against the demons, you see you're the first EASA with this immunity to demons in years"

"I see" Ryota look mechanically at his watch on his wrist

"So...that was fun but it's rather late and i should go, i have to go to work tomorrow" he said to them calmly
