The Third Author's Note

My dear hags,

In the days that follow, when all things settle and end, I imagine you will have questions and regrets.

Questions like, why did Lisa do it?

Regrets like, why did we stop her?

I do not do things out of cruelty, out of malice, but out of love. Oh, that’s so saccharine, I hate it. But it’s a universal feeling, which is why it is perhaps tragic that we all do things out of love, and so we all hurt each other out of love. Do not cry tears when you do what you believe you must. I won’t.

I have done everything, everything, for you all. I would sacrifice not just this city, but this country, my country, all this world from the shackles of imaginarium. You have no doubt begun to feel it, haven’t you? Some of you already know, and yet you defend the indefensible for reasons I will not understand.

As long as this accursed castle stands, my fellow sisters, we will never be free. If I can give my life to free you all, let that be the price of love.
