[1.2] That One Guy: Mana Surge Has Been Learnt!

With no one surprised, I took the lesson with the eight summoned. It was surprisingly fun, even though it made my soul tired as heck.

"Come on, master. You can do it!" That was Kio, and she cheered for me to do a pull-up. Spoiler alert! I couldn't do a single pull.

"I can't do it, Kio. I really can't! My hand feels numb."

Kio felt sad and suggested something I never thought I would hear in my dream, "How about I possess you to do it?"

"What...?" It shocked me, and I fell.

Kio ran into me with concern, "Ah... master!"

I rubbed my butt while Kio was lending her hand to me.

"Master, are you okay?"

I asked her with a shocked face, "Possessed me? How? Aren't you already in my body?"

My question got answered by Iris, who was walking towards us, "Kio, have you forgotten about what the master told us not to do?"

Kio looked away with a bitter face, "But he said he was not our master. So, I thought, why not?"

Iris raised her voice, "This is still implied even when we serve different masters from another world! We don't want the tragedy from a hundred years ago to recur."

A hundred years? Have they been serving their master for a hundred years? How old is their master?

"We don't know that yet! Ernst died because he tried to combine our power into one! I was just offering my power. Only one summoned power."

Oh... they served multiple masters. That explained a lot.

"You guys served a different master in the past?"

Iris refocused her glasses and said, "Yes, three of us. Me, Kio and Jazxy."

"Ah, then this is like tradition, huh? No wonder you guys are persistent about me becoming your master."

"That's right. Even if you're not our previous master, I'm sure he would be pleased when we saved both worlds."

"Wait, it just occurred to me." I just noticed this detail, and so I asked, "If you, Kio, and Jazxy were the first three, then..."

Iris read my mind and replied, "No, we never age after we are inside the summoner device. We will look the same as before we were trapped inside."

"Ah, you read my mind", before I said anything else, Iris responded in milliseconds.

"I have to, sir. If I'm not, I couldn't lead the team of three. Let alone eight."

"You have a point."

After that, I asked how this possession power works.

Let me explain to you how it works. Take, for example, me, who was a bare minimum human who doesn't have any talent other than good grades. Whenever I needed some assistance from the eight summoned, but didn't have mana left, I could ask one of them to take control of my body and change the way my body worked. Like literally.

If Iris took control of my body, I would have her black eyes and silver hair. Not only that, but I could also use Iris's magic. When she took control of my body, she didn't fully control it. She just controlled my mana flow, and I would still be at the steering wheel controlling my movement.

Kio asked if she could possess me, and Iris was arguing with her about it. After a couple of minutes of arguing, I decided to take a stroll to Jazxy, who was having a tea with Yuna and Feadel.

"Sorry, Jazxy, may I ask something?"

He put his cup down and stood up, "Yes, sir. How may I help you?"

Yuna and Feadel stared at me, making me nervous, "I wanted to know, why is possession dangerous? Kio and Iris were arguing about it."

Jazxy saw Iris and Kio still arguing at a distance. He closed his eyes and said, "Hmm, that power was a great way to connect with us and created Mana Surge faster, but the side effect could lead to death."

Yuna asked, "Really? I have never heard that before. Well, to be fair, I was the last person to get captured."

Feadel responded, "Kind of. The summoner hero that captured me used to use this power a lot. He said it's a great way to get to know us faster."

Jazxy turned around to face Feadel, "But it led him to be drunk on our power. Did you forget Hildehord got pissed when his friend was concerned about him?"

"True, I remember that", Feadel looked away, "You do have a point."

Jazxy turned again to face me, "The point of the matter is that it's dangerous. I wouldn't recommend using it."

We didn't notice it until she screamed, "WHY???!!!" Kio was already beside me.

"Kio!" Jazxy looked angry.

"I will stop him this time. I'm sure of it."

"Excuse my rudeness, sir. I would like to talk with Kio in private." He said it while looking at Kio.

Kio and Jazxy walked down a bit, and they were finally at a distance where we couldn't even see them. After they weren't near, I looked at my back to where Kio and Iris were before. I saw Iris finally caught up to me and looked dead serious into my eyes.

She talked, "We have experienced a lot of side effects while we serve many masters. I would like to inform you of this, master. Kio also had an addiction to that effect. She loves to give her power, Willy Nealy, to her current master."

Now I understand why she really wanted to do that.

*PLAK*

I heard a very unpleasant sound, and I was sure everyone did. I thought maybe that was Jazxy slapping Kio for being rude. But alas, I was wrong.

I looked in the direction they were at and saw that Kio was walking toward me.

"You looked piss", Yuna said, "Did you get slapped?"

"No, I slap Jazxy."

Yup, I was indeed wrong.

Feadel continued the line, "What did you guys discuss?"

Kio turned her face away, "You don't need to know, old hag."

In response to that insult, Feadel put her cup down and stood up. She reached Kio, and she sucked her blood with her power.

"Take that back! You are older than me, you know?"

Kio looked distressed, but tried to look tough, "NO! WE NEVER AGE, YOU ARE THE OLDEST BETWEEN US!"

Feadel kept on sucking Kio's blood until Kio said stop. What did I just watch?

After a couple of more training sessions with others, I heard my alarm go off. I was surprised and woke up immediately. I didn't even have a transition from dream world to reality.

After waking up, I stood up to stretch, and Iris called me, "Master, somehow, some way, you just gain mana."

I was confused and asked, "Wait, just now?"

"Yes, but it's still a tiny amount."

I concluded that I gained mana from my sleep, but because I was unsure, I didn't say a thing to Iris. Instead, "I'm sure it would go away after a couple of hours. You probably just sense something else."

I could feel how Iris felt sad, "You... You might be right, master. I'm sorry."

But talking about mana, I thought about summoning someone, so I tried.

To my surprise, Iris was summoned to the real world.

"UWAAA, I just thought of summoning you to try to disclaim your point of mana. I didn't realize that just a thought of it could summon you."

Iris' eyes widened. She smiled and said, "Congratulations, master. You just gained Mana Surge in just two nights."

A power that took the other Oscar ten years to master, I gained in my second night? There was some bullshit going on in here, and I don't like it.
